I love their brussel sprouts appetizer and pretty much everything I've tried there is amazing, can't even decide which entry is my fave. Maybe the lamb chops and the roasted chicken. You can't go wrong ordering here. A bit pricey but worth it. I recommend making a reservation instead of just walking in.

The food was good. I wasn't thrilled that most of their wines were California blends; as I'm not a fan of blends The service was impeccable overall. It is on the pricier side for San Antonio. but I will say it's probably one of the better restaurants have been to here.

Wow. Just 'wow.'

Wow. Just 'wow.'

We did not, by any means, expect to have such a positive experience.

First of all, everyone that worked there was especially friendly. Bryan, our server was exceptional! Knowing it was our first time, he told us what was popular, offered specials, and hooked us up with the best the menu had to offer. In San Antonio, it can be difficult to find good service, but not at Cappy's.

Secondly, the food was delicious. The bread, made in house, is sweet & chewy with light crumb. I got the Heights Burger, medium w/ a side of chips. Even sitting outside, the aroma from the burger was intoxicating. My husband got the Mustang Chicken, a popular dish, and it lived up to the hype. It was perfectly breaded and cooked. We were also surprised with the Sticky Toffee Pudding from our server. It was nutty, sweet, and had an amazing texture.

Lastly, the price was so fair. You might be looking at the menu thinking, "that might be too much for a fried chick or a burger." Trust me, it's not. I've spent way more at Tower's of America for a fraction of the quality food & service offered at Cappy's. They are WORTH it.

We were in town for a concert and decided to try Cappy's before the show. December 3rd it was slightly chilly but we arrived without a reservation so we only had the option of patio seating. They have small Mexican style blankets at the tables. My wife took advantage of this and loved it. She kept commenting on how clean and nice it smelled. (She wanted to keep it) we arrived early and quickly the patio area and restaurant filled with people. We started with a Cappy's coffee for a warm up... A deliciously sweet coffee and liquor concoction. I ordered the tenderloin with polenta and hericot vert, and the wife ordered the special which was a Hawaiian fish (I cannot recall the name) with garlic mashed potato and corn succotash. The steak was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. It did not need the reduction it was served with... But the reduction was delicious and had a surprisingly spicy pop on the end. The fish was perfectly cooked as well and the citrus glaze was a perfect compliment. We will definitely come back to Cappy's when visiting San Antonio.

Wow. What an experience. The food and service were perfect and I rarely feel this way. Our waitress went above and beyond and recommended local spots for us to visit as we are out-of-towners . We had the beef tenderloin and prime rib, both amazing dishes, but do not skip dessert! The apricot bread dish is melt in your mouth kind of good. The whole staff made sure our table was kept clean and tidy in between courses and everyone was polite and I felt very welcomed. San Antonio MUST VISIT.

The gumbo was ok, the fish in it wasn't really soft and flavorful but the soup it was in was very good. The shrimp it was paired with was delicious though! Prices even for lunch are around the $14-$20 range. Service and staff are extremely friendly and attentive.

Bread basket and butter was very good, tasted fresh and full of hearty grains.

Wonderful food and atmosphere. From the second we checked in we saw that the manager was on top of everything. The only issue was our waitress was mad the whole time, so it did put a damper on our experience. We actually would love to try it again on a non-holiday.

Excellent "down home" gourmet food! Daily, off menu specials, or choose from the outstanding selections of the menu itself. Wine choices are equally as good. The total dining experience, ambiente, and service are extremely pleasant.

My bride and I celebrated our 29th anniversary at Cappys. The food there is always extraordinarily great. Arriving 30 minutes early, thanks to cooperative traffic, we were seated immediately and happily. We started our food journey with Shrimp Nachos and Oysters Rockefeller. Both were outstanding. My bride had their special mutton and demiglaze with risotto and grilled tomatoes--delicious! I had prime rib that was served hot and medium rare with fresh horseradish and sides of garlic mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables--again, delicious! We concluded with sticky toffee puddings and vanilla bean ice cream.
The service was thoughtful, attentive and quick without being overbearing. The atmosphere and appointments were comfortable and tasteful. What a great place to celebrate.
We'll be back!

My wife and I went here for an anniversary dinner and it was fantastic. The service was impeccable and our food was great! Save room for some coconut cream pie -- they give you a gigantic piece and it's amazing.

Parking can be a little challenging, but that may depend on the timing.

This was formerly a "favorite place" in San Antonio. I made a reservation thru open table for my husband's birthday. 10 people. I remember seeing the reservation change to 4 after I made it, so I cancelled and redid it thinking I had made the mistake. Fast forward 3 weeks. We show up after Church for the reservation for his birthday. That's when they tell us the online system won't accept a reservation for more than 4 people. If that had been explained on the site or place page we could have fixed, it. Staff seemed unconcerned. We had to scramble to find another place for the meal. They tried make an unacceptable offer to sit at 2 tables of fiive outside where we could not interract. Very disappointed. Fast forward - we found a BETTER place that served a more wonderful meal. Time to move on - not that they care.

A friend reccomended this restaurant. There were many tasty sounding options on the menu. I chose the salmon dish with mashed potatoes and asparagus and it was very good! I would go back the next time I'm in San Antonio.

Food was not great. Not bad, but not great. Service was disappointing. After a friendly first greeting, there was no attention paid to needs for refills or any sincere conversation. Again, nothing horrible here. Just nothing to inspire us to go back.

Being from out of town, we were not sure of a good place to have a nice dinner; boy, did we find one!! Staff super friendly and helpful, seated us right away even though we were a little early and our waiter was excellent. The best part was the food; crab cakes were perfection with a lovely salad on the side, kissed with a citrus dressing. Spinach side dish was divine, sauteed briefly in garlic. We were too full for dessert (so we thought) so ordered sticky toffee pudding to take home. Once we got there, it didn't last long, it was too good to be true. I will probably dream about it in my sleep tonite. The ambiance was perfect; a lovely patio with trees encircling it and soft music, not blaring loud so that you can't converse. We were duly impressed with the thorough cleaning of the table as well as chairs; I have not seen that anywhere else.
Can't see enough good things about this place!!

What makes this restaurant amazing is the unfamiliar taste of their cuisines. It will teach you to leave your comfort zone of what tastes you have been used to. The restaurant s team of chefs works with the ingredients and reshaping them into surprising and spectacular dishes. When I ordered their beef steak for the first time, the first chew was kind of weird but after the second and third taste, it was astounding. I ve never had tasted as savory as that beef steak before.

One of my sisters, her husband, our mother (96 years old!), and my husband and I all stopped at Cappy s for a late lunch after the funeral of another sister. We were treated so well by the staff. The food was lovely. Mom s chicken salad platter was a work of art and bedecked with beautiful fresh fruit, a mango jelled mousse, steamed and dressed fresh broccoli, and a generous serving of colorful delicious chicken salad. Mom ate most of it (and she eats like a bird most of the time). Each couple ordered and split The Heights burgers and appreciated the kitchen plating the split burgers so nicely. The French Onion soup was tasty, complementary bread was fresh and yummy, and the iced tea was refreshing. Thank you so much for making a difficult, emotional afternoon a little brighter.

Paid $20 for a pound of lukewarm fries and a charcoaled burger stuffed with Fritos. It s FINE (meh) dinning for sure. My girlfriend asked for a medium rare steak but served with a lukewarm rare steak too with a glob of fried cheese covering everything. But hey they gave us $20 worth of fries! The tables and chair are outdated. The food aren t creative, not flavorful and unappetizing. If this is fine dining in San Antonio, then the standard in SA is really low.
