Eclectic is a wonderful description for their food. All the dishes were beautifully flavored and well balanced. Had the specials of the day: soup - roasted cauliflower, potato, tomato & bacon puree; fried dumplings in a spicy asian glaze; meat trio - roasted quail, 3oz bone in ribeye, and pork shank in a balsamic glaze . No knife needed, meat falls of the bone! Recommend the creme brulee & the sticky toffee pudding.

Can easily get cappys confused with cappyccino's friendly staff will lead you to the right spot. Shrimp and Brussels Sprouts good appetizer. I had the wedge salad with ranch very yum. Prices are a little high for my particular budget but yum yum.

The customer service was great. The waitress was Anjelica she was very attentive. The food was AWESOME!!! The crab cakes we're amazing and so was the surf and turf and the kale salad. My wife and I have eaten here three times already Its a must to experience this restaurant if you're in San Antonio.

This is hands down one of the best restaurants in the San Antonio area. I have eaten here several times and the biggest compliment that I can give them is their consistency. I have had many amazing dishes...and yet to have a disappointing dish! Be sure to check this place out as it is easy to miss when zooming down Broadway to the Pearl or other restaurants in the area.

It was my birthday and my boyfriend's as well since we have our birthdays around the same time in April, one after the other. We went to Cappy's from my researching places to go in San Antonio and it was our first time. I reserved a table on OpenTable and check in and seating was fast and easy. We had Taylor who took great care of us, fantastic and on top of everything we needed. He had the special lamb chops with Tikki Masala, I had the prime rib. Both were delicious, bread was hot and fresh, and then dessert was fantastic with him getting the sticky pudding (it's their specialty) and I got the creme brulee. Both were great, sticky pudding I'll definitely be back to try and get next time. We got old fashioned drinks which were strong and well done, just everything was delicious, we were well taken care of, we'll be back. Taylor did an amazing job waiting on us and I'd recommend her for sure!

It's an upscale restaurant. Food is exceptionally good. We had the lamb, the salmon and the pork Milanese. The first two, were pricy but we'll worth the price, in contrast, the pork was just OK. W

The food is of great quality. My gf had a ribeye and it was cooked to her request perfectly. I ordered the gumbo. So, first of all, I really love food. Who doesn't? It's needed to stay alive. More specifically, I enjoy having someone else do the food prep, plating, presentation and clean up in lieu of me at times. But I've got to say that the gumbo was anemic in portion. THAT'S why I gave 3 instead of 4. Gumbo is a Cajun dish. Let me out it this way: If you're of Polish, Cajun, or Hispanic heritage, if you leave someone's meal hungry, it's your own damn fault. Well, I left this meal hungry. Now mind you; I informed our server that I came hungry and have an appetite. So, I made it clear that I came to eat. The gumbo came in a large bowl and was filled enough for a big mug/cup. Because it's in the '09' area, it got foo foo'd a bit with a boiled shrimp and a "filet" of black drum. The filet looked like it came off a piggy perch rather than a black drum. As a fisherman, I hear 'filet' and I think filet. I think half of the side of a fish minus the bones. Given that a black drum has to be 14" to be legal and this darn "filet" was 3"in length, they either need to change it to "piece" or fire the person who couldn't properly filet a fish. Further, and only my own opinion, I believe that if you're serving "Cajun" food, do so with the spirit of what a Cajun would do. Don't provide me with an anemic portion like a French soup. Give me some food like a true Cajun would. I personally believe that any chef worth their salt considers this and adjusts the portions in their menu accordingly. Just my 2 cents. Food was great quality wise and service was great as well. I just feel that for what you pay, you'd be better going to Pappadeaux for some gumbo.

A magnificent end to our Christmas visit to San Antonio
We joined a friend for a drink after a performance at the Majestic Theatre. The bar is lovely and the tables are placed far enough from one another so that conversation is easy. We had dinner reservations so after our friend left we were directed to the elevator where we were met by name and escorted to our table. Again,...

Cappy's used to be one of my favorite restaurants....

Cappy's used to be one of my favorite restaurants. However, the service has been less than optimal lately. Cappy's prides themselves in delivering outstanding service, but I can't say that I received that. The waitress that I had during my last visit was extremely arrogant. I ordered the shrimp nachos, a dish I always order and when it came out it looked different. I asked if it was usually served with the pico and cilantro on the side or if they changed it and I showed our waitress the picture of the nachos I received the last time. She then went on to tell me that picture was not taken at Cappy's. I said oh that's strange, seeing as it's my picture. She then said "Oh that person probably ordered something else". Which I replied back, "No this is literally my picture and my order". (May I add that Cappys has used my pictures on their social media several times.) She brushed it off and said that's how the plate has always been since she's worked there. When I spoke to the general manager about this, he said "you can ask for it on the side if you want", instead of acknowledging the blatant arrogance and disrespect from his staff. Not only did this set the tone for our dinner, our waitress went on to pick up our plates, which still had food on them, without first asking if we were done eating or if we wanted to take it to-go. I complained about this to the general manager as well and was simply offered a free appetizer on my next visit. I don't appreciate being treated with so much disrespect at a restaurant that I have given so much business too. I don't recommend this restaurant as there are many others with superior service in the area.

A bit more upscale than Cappycino's (which is more like a cafe/bistro). The food here is fantastically prepared-- and presented well. You can sit indoors for an intimate date night, or venture to the outdoor patio for a sunny brunch.

For lunch, I am partial to the 7 Spice Ahi Tuna Salad, the Oak Grilled Akaushi Burger, or the Pecan Crusted Catfish. For dinner, I have tried (and liked) their potato-crusted Halibut and the Rack of Lamb. Their Mustang Chicken is good, but didn't impress me as much.

The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. Parking is free and accessible!

We frequently come in on Sundays in the early afternoon. It's best to have a reservation of possible, otherwise you might have a 30 minute wait.

Food quality had always been excellent and so has been the service. You cannot go wrong with the pot roast, mashers & root vegetables.

I enjoyed my first visit to Cappy s the other day. I ordered the Gumbo and it was quite good. Wait staff were attentive and the environment was comfortable. The restaurant is a little hidden and parking is somewhat limited during the lunch hour. Would go back.

First time eating at Cappy's. Went during lunch hour during the week. Had a business lunch vibe. Staff were friendly and attentive. I had not seen the menu prior to going, so I was not aware that the menu is seafood based (which is not my preference). There were few non-seafood items. I had a burger with hand cut chips. It was delicious! Best chips I've had. Definitely worth the price.

Came here for Sunday Brunch. The building was beautiful and the service was great. Food was delicious but can be pricey. It is hit or miss on portion sizes. The Crab cake was delicious but small, the Sunday special was amazing and huge, and the coconut cream pie was delicious and can be shared. Overall, I would come back and the service, more than the food, makes the price understandable.

We decided to FINALLY come here after enticing my in-laws with the Restaurant Week Menu. We recently moved to New Braunfels so SODO is a bit of a drive for us. Since we were planning on being the whole family including our 2 1/2 year old, I opted for an early dinner reservation @5:30 & also outside on the patio...

Love this restaurant it s so quiet and busy at the same time, if that makes any sense. We love to go and chill and catch up with our friends. The food is for sure a plus but the affordable drinks make the experience for sure a great one. The service is fast and very attentive.

Very cozy atmosphere, relaxing even. The staff was very friendly and explained specials, very good service. The food selection was limited but good choices. Our food was well prepared and freshly served. The menu was well organized, though it comes very pricey per size of the portions. If you don't mind spending a bit? It's a good place to eat.

Went to Cappy's with my esposa at the recommendation of a friend. It's their favorite place in SA and has an overall 4-star Yelp rating. Ambiance is rustic with bright, funky Picasso-inspired paintings. We arrived 25 minutes early for the reservation we made on Open Table. The hostess said she'd seat us as close to our reservation time as possible. Well, 5 minutes later on a VERY busy Sunday we had a table! Menu was small but well focused with a well-paired wine list. Our server was a bit cold and indifferent, but tried to be nice. Bloody Mary was dee-lish. I went with lamb chop Sunday special. Esposa went with crab cakes. Both were beautifully plated, small but appropriate portions, and cooked perfectly. Our only gripe, a minor one, is that despite being 70 degrees outside, the AC was cranked up inside and it was freezing cold. Every other patron had a jacket, sweater, or scarf on (go figure), so they didn't notice. OVERALL: EXCELLENT. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We WILL return.

I've always enjoyed dining at this restaurant with family, friends and clients. However, today when I called for a reservation I was informed of a new policy - 'that we would only have an hour and a half to eat due to another reservation after us...'

Wow! Having to watch the clock while you dine. Not the culinary experience I'm looking for.

Got the American breakfast. Steak was a little thin, but it had great flavor and cooked perfectly. Pancakes were delicious. The brussel sprouts are out of this world. Only thing that I wasn't happy with was our table. It was in a dimly lit area. Normally I wouldn't mind, but it was brunch so it seemed a little sad and could have used some lighting. My husband got the pot roast benedicts, and the polenta square was not good.

I grew up in Alamo Heights so when I returned to SA for the first time in a decade - this was one of my first stops - and I was so happy to see it was still there. It has withstood the test of time. The menu has certainly evolved to be more refined (I lived for their black bean nachos back in the day) and is more upscale than I remembered - but the place is still amazing. They had a great wine list and the food was so fresh, ambience, especially outside seating, was spectacular (in the Spring at least) and I loved reminiscing with the waitstaff. I will certainly be back the next time I m in town and recommend you check it out!
