Excellent excellent service excellent food met the owner the people that work there are very professional and friendly

Drove by many times and finally decided to stop. Had some of the most amazing pancakes that I've had in a long time and the entire staff was awesome. I had 4 different people stop by my table just to check on me and give me a smile. Great relaxed and interesting place to eat. Perfect Southern California atmosphere!

First let me tell you about the bitter coffee, McDonald s Coffee rates higher. Potatoes are bland O flavor. Bacon is hard almost pork jerky. I can t understand why they say best breakfast in town. Maybe because it s the only one in town.

Great food, great staff and extremely well run. We try to grt there one a week.

Go for breakfast, drink bloody Marys, have biscuits and gravy or a bagel with lox, go back to bed. Perfect Wednesday morning.

My first time ever visiting Cappy's. The man with the white hair in the front was quite possibly one of the rudest people I've ever met in food service. Food orders take forever and they are not effective at communicating because we kept being told it would only be five more minutes when in reality it was an additional 20. I understand that it is busy for breakfast on the weekends , but there is a professional way to run a restaurant and this was not it. Will not ever be returning, food was decent.

This was the cleanest, most eventful diner I ve ever been too! I adore the chocolate chip pancakes and love the art on the outside of the building! Please come here if you ve never been and live nearby! You ll love the food and everything about the place!!

Love this place. It is a must stop for breakfast whenever I'm in town.

Would of gotten 5 but the waitresses always give poor service. Didn't check on my table one time but shout out to the bus boy that kept refilling our drinks the food took 45 min and I got clam chowder and a burger.. what was even more lame was the fact she was so attentive to all the older men who came in after my table. Ps it wasn't even that busy we came in after the rush... saved me my tip money tho, which is unfortunate for her bc I tip 25% if its deserved (;

This diner has history and it's fun! It's clean and pleasantly decorated with a light and airy atmosphere. The food is great quality and service is excellent. It's super close to the beach but you can't leave your car in their parking lot and walk there. There is parking on the other side of the hwy. If it's a weekday you won't have any trouble finding a spot.

I checked their website before I went there the menu prices in the restaurant do not reflect the same prices as the website I complained to manager and they did nothing to help me disappointed !! also poor service from waitress will definitely not be going back.

had a great breakfast here. loved the atmosphere. cant believe i haven't been here in the 13 years I have lived here, regardless of how many people told me they loved it. Glad i finally came and looking forward to coming back again and again. They have a HUGE menu.

This local hangout had been a desireable place to visit when I got back in town. The food was okay, not $30 breakfast worthy, but the real disappointment was in the staff. My server almost never came by. Someone else sat me, got my drinks, brought my food, and probably cleaned the table after. The server litterally came by twice like a glorified order taker and scowled at everyone else. The hostess was more attentive filling drinks and bringing a quick smile and convo. She must have a supper power not to be dragged down by everyones energy to boot. Went inside to use the restroom and the vibe was awful due to two managers having a conversation. I"ve managed a restaurant myself and have 5 years of serving experience when I was young; so I don't quite see that as a recipe to success. I understand Covid has stressed many of these small businesses; but professionalism and simple kindness to each other would go a long way for Cappy's.

Great service, variety menue selections and pricing, good portion and will satisfy your taste bud!! This place is a great weekends breakfast or lunch! Highly recommends!

Way over priced for food. The ham steak l ordered with my breakfast was mostly fat and a large bone. When l received mt food, it was cold. Ripoff! Poor service, as well.

The breakfasts were tasty and filling. I am a vegetarian and I really enjoyed the skillet dish I ordered. My dining companion enjoyed his bloody Mary and egg and meat dish. The views are only of the street from the outside dining patio, but the ocean air gives it a beachy feel. I would definitely dine there again.

I've been eating regularly at Cappy's for well over 10 years. I was there just this past Saturday and decided to write a review for the first time. The food is excellent, that is, it is made with top quality ingredients and very well prepared. This is true whether I'm having pancakes or a full egg breakfast, such as with sausage (outstanding). The teamwork among the servers is probably the best I have ever seen anywhere. As one who enjoys coffee, my cup is never empty or cool. It was clear that the wait-staff was truly focused on ensuring that my experience was exceptional. It was and consistently is.

Very good veggie skillet, friendly quick service in laid-back surf vibe cafe on north side of PCH, so no view here if you are looking for one. Tried strawberry crepes but they were cold, sauce cold & requested a waffle as replacement, which came quickly and was warm & tasty but then was billed for it. After requesting it be removed the pleasant mgr did so. Decent, standard American-style bfast.

Yum, Yum and YUM! Great food, great atmosphere and nice servers! The 62nd St Omlette is th BOMB, add avo!! Highly recommend this place!!

Newport Beach institution. I've been eating breakfast here since the days my friends and I rollerbladed up and down the beach at HB and Newport. The food is always good, service friendly in a comfortable setting. Outdoor seating is available.

My first and last visit to Cappy's. Service was good, food was mediocre. Omelets were thin, veggies nearly raw, hash browns were dehydrated potatoes and superficially scorched instead of deepy browned slowly in fat, biscuit was heavy & crumbly not light and flaky, sausage gravy tasted canned & dairy free, beef "fajitas" was chunked dry well done roast beef.

The tiny fruit flies on the walls and buzzing around the food is disgusting. Otherwise, the food is good.

I usually order for pickup but I had gone for a long walk and got hungry after about 4 miles and decided to stop in as I was only half a mile away. They created a large outdoor seating area in addition to their attached patio area. It was around 8am and there were a few groups already, most unmasked whether eating or not. They make great eggs benedict. The hollandaise is excellent and the eggs were perfectly poached. I have tried the seasoned potatoes and the sliced potatoes. I prefer the sliced potatoes. The seasoned potatoes were almost more onion than potato, but they were good. The mimosa was not good. The service is always excellent. As it got later, a lot more groups of people came and I did not feel comfortable. I would say watch out for busy times. More people were in the larger outdoor area in the lot than in the original patio, maybe I would go there first or just order to go as usual. The tuna melt is also excellent. I appreciate the employees for their hard work and for this local restaurant being open.

The took care on getting us exactly what we ordered. They were fairly quick. The plates came with more food than we expected. My husband and I could have shared and still not finished!! Good quality food!!
