Great spot with good food, friendly & helpful staff, and there's outdoor seating with heaters.
Great spot with good food, friendly & helpful staff, and there's outdoor seating with heaters.
Good variety of beers and food. Wings were on point.
Never saw a server at the bar.. the server complained when we asked why we never saw a server..very rude and she knew it, "we don't do quarters here so here's a dollar", is what she said, other employee knew it was wrong but never apologized. Don't go here! Good music tho
Really good service, and the chicken and waffles is amazing
They were out of a lot of beers. Clam chowder was good
This restaurant might be ok if you dont get Haley as your waitress. The food and atmosphere were good but the total incompetence of the staff ruined the meal.
Great beer selection (although none brewed in house) but few vegetarian options. Cool building
A brewing company that doesn't...brew anything? Good selections of beers on tap, including some local options from Alvarado Street Brewery. Typical bar food menu served in a big taphouse setting.
Awesome beer selection and food was good - overall a great experience and would recommend for a fun laid back dinner in Monterey.
No waiters but a mellow outdoor dining area. The fried fish was good but a little doughy. No beer is actually brewed here. But we had a nice time!
The vast selection of beer makes this an excellent place to sit down and relax with some light food on the side.
Good space and friendly staff!
Would visit again next time!
This place is really tasty. Good fish and chips. It's always delicious.
On Sunday, 11/15 my 6 yr old son was assaulted by the manager, Tom F. He was looking at the bottles on the patio railings 10 feet from us while we were waiting for the check. He did touch but wasn't being reckless in the least. The manager, in full view of my family and three other families grabbed my son, twisted his arm as he removed it and my kid, burst into screams from pain. Most kids, when scolded, will hold onto their tears until they get to mom or dad. My kid's cries were immediate. If you have kids you know what I'm saying.
When I approached the manager, I said that his actions were inexcusable. He denied it completely. I mentioned that there were three other families that saw it and I wanted to speak with someone else. I asked for his name and the owners name. He said his name was Tom. When I asked for his last name he said he was the only Tom. When I asked again, reminding him that denying me his name only made things worse, he said his name was "Tom F" - is this guy really trying to limit his liability by not giving me his full name?
Sad. My kid can take it. The question is, does this manager get to keep his job and do this again to someone else's kid?
David: A law suite for foreign objects in food could cost tens of thousands. How much would it cost you if someone sued for assaulting their little boy? Is it worth keeping Tom F for that kind of risk?
Poorly managed, do not recommend. Waited an hour and never got our food so we left and were quickly served at another restaurant nearby. Also never saw our waiter again. Manager apologized that the kitchen was busy and our ticket was lost. All tables around us were served so the excuse of a busy kitchen was not believable. Many other better options are in walking distance.
Food is amazing! Great staff! Be sure to get the pretzel!!
Food is average at best. Way too expensive for what you get.
Chicken and Waffles and the adult grilled cheese were off the hook. We ordered these plates then split them between the two of us.
There is a large beer selection, but not much of their own brews.
Their outdoor patio could use more tables than lounge areas. It was a beautiful day and everyone wanted to eat outside, but there were 3 actual dining tables and only 2 umbrellas for shade.
Great beer selection with some tasty food offerings, definitely try the smoked chicken wings
Way over-priced brews- They don't brew their own beers which you usually expect with a Brewing Company. Food was just alright. Service was great though.
Sweet local spot with good brews. Enjoyed the appetizers of chili cheese fries and Calamari plus the atmosphere!
Wide selection of beers and delicious food. Good service from the enthusiastic waiters.
Good food but overpriced. For that reason I go a 2 to 3 times a year opposed to regularly.
The wait here was long due to being understaffed, but they were able to get us in and the food was pretty good
Disappointed that although they have a huge selection of beer, they only seem to actually brew one beer of their own, which was ok. They should change their name to Cannery Row Brewpub or something like that.
We just got drinks here, but there was a pretty good live band, and the waiter was able to recommend a really good stout. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was great!
Laid back and very inviting. I thought they were going to have their own beer but I guess I have to wait. I wish they had more staff on holidays behind the help the bar. Some people order there and walk away and take away from the people already sitting there.
If you're looking for a brewery this is more of a ta room, they do not brew their own beer but they have a great selection of beers to choose from.
Food was great as always. Took some friends and loved it.
Not a brewery. Beer is brewed in San Jose by Golden State, and trucked down, and the only recipe that is their own (according to our server) was the blonde. Unless you are an ab brewery, you should be pushing your own product more than Budweiser, but they aren't. Disappointing. Need to change the name to tap House!
The food was pretty forgettable, despite having been a stop on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Decent beer selection, but you're also paying tourist prices down near Cannery Row. If you're in the area, you'd be much better served going to Alvarado Street.
Lots of beer on tap and pretty good food. Definitely worth a visit if you're a big beer person.
Average food at a high price. This place seems to care less about the beer and more about the restaurant.
There was oddly a wait despite the fact that I could see several open tables and there were only two of us in my party.
The food arrived in about the time you'd expect for this level of restaurant.
My server was nice, but wanted to talk a little too much rather than doing his job.
All in all, it's not a bad place but just not a great experience... especially if you're a beer drinker.
Had side of fish on menu but would not make a fish sandwich, huh?
We went here because it was featured on diners drive-ins and dives. The recommended dish on diners drive-ins and dives was the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich which we tried. It was good but very rich. I don t think I would order it ever again. The pretzel was very good and the french fries were delicious. The chicken tenders were good too! They have a lot of beers on the menu which is awesome!
To my mind, one of the best bars in Monterrey. Loads of great beers on tap, served by friendly, knowledgeable staff. The food is great too, my girlfriend and I shared a pulled brisket toasted sandwich, which was (honestly) one of the best tasting meals to have ever passed my lips.
Go there, eat, drink and enjoy!
Not sure why it s listed as one of the best happy hours considering they don t have happy hour specials and domestic beers cost $7
Great variety of beers, cool place, good food, friendly peeeero service, the food takes a lot. If you are in a hurry it is not the best place.
Great atmosphere, good food, lovely drinks and attentive service.
Our waiter was friendly and accurate. I can't give it 5 stars, though, because of the food. Two of the people in our group got mouthfuls of sand in their clam chowder and one of the other dishes had to be sent back because the cheese in it had molded.
Despite having "Brewing Company" in its name, this place doesn't seem to brew. But they have a nice selection on tap, and the burgers and fries were very good.
Very good food and an amazing beer selection. A bit pricey, but considering it's in the main tourist drag not entirely unreasonable. My main complaint is that they aren't really a brewing company. That's right, no beer brewing. HOWEVER, they have plenty of California beers and really tasty taps from other locales. Just go, drink the beer, eat the food, you'll be happy. Yes it's not the best picture. Are you really still reading this?
Terrible bar tenders. They were out of 80% of their taps (trouble paying bills?). Food was marginal at best. Classic tourist trap with high rent and sub standard quality.
Not a brewery! They do not brew any of their own beer. Not sure how they got away naming themselves as such. Taproom or restaurant would be a much more appropriate name.
Food was pretty good however we had a party of 16 and they wouldn't split the bill. So we had to do tons of math and hand them cards and cash hoping we did the math correctly. It was one long bill with what looked like complex math problems written on it.
Great beer selection, but unfortunately the house beers weren t available. Clam chowder wasn t anything special and was only served with two tiny pieces of toast. Better to just go grab a beer and watch a game on one of their many TVs.
Great beer selection, no flights. Typical bar food with some nice twists.
Huge selection of beer on tap. Good brew pub food selection.
They didn't have any in-house brews and the food was pretty pricey. The tap selection of guest beers is good.
I SERIOUSLY CAN NOT BELIEVE THE HORRENDOUS SERVICE!!!
Amazing atmosphere and friendly staff! Great array beer selections, and you have to try the pulled pork sliders...incredible. Definitely a favorite place to visit again.
Try the vaquero burger or the BBQ ribs grilled cheese with the truffle fries. Any beer to suite you fancy.
A little on the pricey side but good quality food and vast selection of beer. Wings, pretzels, and fries were all great.
30 min wait for food at 1300
Waitress in bar area could not describe the plethora of beers and had to ask 'bartender'.
ANSWER: Diff between Firestone Parabola and Alaska Baltic was "1 is more bitter than the other'.
IF you are a brewery your vocabulary should include 'chocolate, molasses, cigar, peanut butter, caramel.......
Slow service on weekends. If you go during the week it's great!
With so many different beers on tap you'd think that you're gonna lose your way, but the bartenders know their stuff. What local brews have what and what may pair with your meal. Now the menu; at first I thought it would be pub fare, but no. The steak sandwich was phenomenal, sided with a generous portion of batter-dipped fries. After my meal, out to the patio that has fire pits at the ready for after dinner conversation and cocktails. Talk about one stop shopping after a day on the Wharf or the aquarium ( both easily within walking distance of the restaurant) to relax and unwind.
I gave Cannery Row Brew Co. 5 stars because I was treated well by staff, the food was on point and the accommodations post meal were comfortable and have a nice view. I'll most certainly be visiting again.
Very disappointed. Off season they only carry 25 draft beers. Mostly national brands.
The new bartender was very nice but didn't know it was happy hour when I was there. She adapted though and did a great job. The smoked wings seemed like it had a liquid smoke on them because the smoke flavor was way more potent than actual smoked wings. The pretzels are huge and very delicious. Beer selection is amazing. This is a tap house not really a brewery from what I gathered. Overall pretty good place during happy hour which I think goes until 6.
Came here for the beer. Was told that there was an hour long wait for 2 people though there was clearly room. I waited for an hour and to their credit, they accommodated us quickly and via text message so we could still roam Cannery Row. However, I thought their beer selection was pretty limited. I was expecting better.
Overall good experience. Decent service. Fun.good music.
Oh my, I really wanted to be able to give a 5 star review! The food was fantastic, we had the pretzel, soup, corn dogs and carne asada fries....all were fabulous! Our concerns were the over flowing garbages and the cold breeze continuously blowing in from the front door.
They have a lot of beers on tap that are great, however, they don't actually brew their own beer. The food is okay, I prefer to get their smaller apps and sides.
Food is decent and they have a strong beer list but you won't find a sandwich under $15 so don't expect cheap pub fare. Cannery Row Brewing Company may not be an accurate name as they don't actually brew anything. Beers run $8-$10.
What friendly helpful staff!! I was impressed that they not only accepted dogs but had dog treats right there behind the hostess stand. The food was great as was the drinks. They have an wide selection of beers on tap and I will be definitely going back here the next time I visit cannery row
Good location and atmosphere, however they don t brew their own beer, so idk why they call themselves a brewery company...
Interesting experience! We walked in, the bar area was maybe 2/3rds full and the dining area maybe 20%? We asked if there was happy hour (got suckered by a 2015 review list of best happy hours :D) and were told no, they didn't have one anymore, just to take a seat at any two top or spot at the bar.
We came for food too so we were eyeing all of the available booths. I walked back and asked the hostess if we could sit in a booth. She then asked "Are you going to eat?" Facepalm. Wat? I said yes and she said ok can you wait over there, let me get a table set up.
While we were waiting I was scrolling reviews and saw another one that said the hostess had acted strange & taken a really long time to seat people in a booth, also asking them to wait. Maybe 5-10 minutes had passed? We got her attention again and she ferried us over to a booth, finally. Just the weirdest hostess experience - maybe she's new?
The server was fantastic - a recent transplant who was gregarious, extremely great about the refills and checking in on us w/o being obtrusive. It was fun hearing about his experiences and he seems like a really nice guy. He may also be the bartender?
The food was AMAZING! We got the nachoes and the loaded fries and then two desserts, the monkey bread and the cookie skillet. Absolutely great. A tad overpriced but hey, for the area, it may be normal. We did sign our receipt on an iPad so heads up - you're signing the receipt and choosing the tip as the waiter is talking to you! That was a bit discombobulating but thank goodness they make it easy these days to choose between 15, 20, 25% by clicking on a button!
LOVED THIS PLACE! Visited Monterey & luckily decided to try this jewel of a place one of my first nights there & I'm so glad I did! They have awesome wings & the beer selection is incredible. I went back there almost every night I was in Monterey! & the servers are quick & very friendly.
Good service and great food. Dessert was a bit disappointing though.
Great food in casual inviroment. Just far enough away from the tourist craziness.
This place has a great selection of beers and wonderful service
We had lunch there. Good $$ sandwiches but disappointing to hear the bartender cursing over the counter and slamming glasses and plates under the counter. He had a very nasty and rough personality.
Nice outside patio. God place to rest your feet and have a drink.
Food was great! The only disappointing part was the menu. It's not what you'd expect from a brew house, especially when they only offer one house beer on their menu. I could have purchased most of the beer at Safeway.
Seriously? You call yourself a brewing company and don't actually brew beer? Liars! We walked out.
Went on a bad night, I guess. They actually ran out of BEER! The waitress looked tired like she just ran a marathon and the food was ok but not worth the price. Man... I just can't get over the fact that they were out of beer. I mean, a brewery running out of beer... wow.
Good beer selection. Decent poke. Delicious nachos. Overall good experience.
Nothing fancy and a little pricey, but lots of tasty options and very convenient location. The server was very accommodating.
