Was here in 2016 Feb as well. Had a five star on it then. One of the best london 'one-off' skate place for me. Not too big to be daunting, not too small to get a skate on. Unlike our experience ar Somerset house, the small kids are not confined to the smallest pen and the amount of people on the ice seems better controlled. Enough good places to eat nearby other than at the rink so food quality unknown. Bit pricey so not a 5 star !

Update 01 2017 : They've changed the layout so no cheeky path to skate around. It's now the boring standard rectangle so slightly more daunting for beginners and less rail places to hang on to, out of the way. Shame about this, so glad we went early and caught the cheap deal 9-10am Sunday session. Staff are still very helpful and careful.

Reasonably well looked after ice, I liked the lights below the ice - nice touch. It would have been full 5 stars with a few more facilities (somewhere to print photos, for example, or lockers that didn't eat your money if you turned the key too far). The actual rink itself was lovely - Just outside enough whilst being fully covered, friendly staff, and not too full.

It is fun but you have to know what to do! The staff are not thst friendly! Only one lady was helping whilst others were chating or checking their phones, or just being sarcastic when you ask a question.

Nice hour long ice scaring sessions, can get a little crowded at times but that is to be expected. Between skates the ice is regulated for 15 minutes. The ice rink is quite large compared to the one outside the London Eye. Staff are More

Really enjoyable Christmas-related activity with my son. We went during the first session on a Sunday so the ice was perfect, and it was probably a little quieter than the later sessions. I was struck by how well organised everything was and the quality of the hire boots, they all seemed brand new.

I've been to a few ice rinks in London over the years, and I can say that is the best ice rink in London. It's larger than most ice rinks, and is usually less busy too (due to its location presumably); more space means more fun. Also, skating among the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf (an especially stunning experience at night) feels absolutely magical! Highly recommended social activity for families, friends, and even a date. Very affordable too.

A good rink but very busy so not much room to skate, understandable during the Christmas holidays but wouldn't recommend it to those who want to feel like they have a really good skating session. The shoe/skate exchange system was a bit chaotic afterwards but again this was the busiest time.

Overall a good experience but I (And those in my group) felt they let on far too many people at once. It's a fairly large rink, well maintained. But it was just too crowded.
And this made leaving a pain, as you had a few hundred people all trying to queue for their shoes at once.

We did manage to get some good skating in here and there, so I guess that's all that matters. But the experience would have been much better for everyone (including the poor staff) if they cut the number of people per session by half!!

The amount they charge, and the fact it's booked up solid throughout the day.. they would definitely still make boat loads of money even with half the amount per session.

Probably won't return, but the setting and backdrop in the evening was definitely worth the (one time) experience.

I recommend trying it out, (as I said the location and backdrop are quite cool especially in the dark). But be prepared for overcrowding.

one more experience that ruined by the English following blindly stupid rules: whilst there where plenty of sledges that help adult begginers to improve their skills and boost their morale.......i was forbidden to use it because it was simply.......just for kids!!!

the limited time i used it was really good!! but then they took it away!!
such a disappointment!!!

Generally nice and full of friendly skaters who will help you if you aren't great. They give you a fair amount of time for the price. Light show is pretty cool and provides something to look at. The locker facilities are nice and clean.

We had an amazing time skating in Canary Wharf during the evening on Saturday. The setting is one of a kind, nestled amongst the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf and there is even a track to skate down between the trees! The bar was busy and had good snacks and a decent selection of drinks. Highly recommended!

Very well organised. They had a big crowd, but still managed to keep it tidy.

If you need a polar bear for your child (support on ice for children who are not confident), you can book it on the spot. But you have to queue up for it (and pay), and they have only around 25 in total, so arrive half an hour early.

The overall experience was nice, although you can possibly find cheaper facilities elsewhere. But it's canary wharf!

One of the most beautiful skiing sites currently in London

The ice rink has shrunk in recent years to about 1/3rd the size of what it used to be, however still plenty big enough. The skates and ice are good quality, the staff are friendly and it's a fair price compared to other (much busier) options in London.

Love it.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I WOULD LEAVE NO STARS IF I COULD.

My partner and I have visited the Ice Rink Canary Wharf twice before, however, our visit earlier this year was completely different.

As soon as we arrived we noticed how busy the session was. According to the Ice Rink's website the capacity is 350 skaters but it was impossible to skate without getting knocked into by other skaters and small children using skating aids.

I understand that ice skating is very popular over the Christmas holidays, however, we skated at the National History Museum before Christmas and the ice rink was empty in comparison.

We spent the session trying not to be knocked over and avoiding abandoned skating aids. Both my partner and I are experienced skaters but it was impossible to skate the length of the rink without having to stop.

UPDATE: I have sent Ice Rink Canary Wharf 15 emails to discuss this matter and their customer service team haven't responded.

Beautiful location with plenty going on in surrounding bars and restaurants.. but over-priced vs. the experience. Staff are rude and mostly disinterested. Returned first pair of skates as blades were very blunt - friend swapped hers as the tongues were broken and causing discomfort. Lots of new skaters on the ice that could have done with some help, only the male member of staff showed any interest in them. Shame as this is such a great venue..
