As an American I wanted to see what Canadian Tire was like. I've heard about it. You can get things that they don't sell in the states. I love this store, and this chain. Will return someday hopefully.

COVID-19: Stay out of Canadian Tire in Sault Ste Marie until this pandemic is ended or until they change practices. The main issue is that no cashiers were available, so everyone was shuttled to self-checkout. In the checkout waiting line areas, there are floor markers for 2 metre separation. Good, but why bother? The self-checkout area has 4 stations which are way too close to each other and have no barriers. Add a helpful checkout assistant and you have five people clustered together, only one of whom wore a mask (me). I saw no cleaning of the stations between customers. A secondary issue was that only a small fraction of the workers were wearing masks. I try to shop locally, but they need to do their part. Back to Amazon, which is where I go anyway when I want to check myself out.

I purchased brand new all-season tires from 200 Mc...

I purchased brand new all-season tires from 200 McNabb Canadian Tire and they were installed on March 26th 2017. Today (April 20th) driving down Second Line my front driver's side wheel flew off my vehicle. It was a scary experience, but luckily no one was hurt. This situation could have been life-changing. The damage to the undercarriage will cost 2500. Even more shocking then the negligence in installing the tires was the reaction of the Canadian Tire mechanic, when I informed him about the situation. After telling him the whole scenario he said, "There is a message at the bottom of the tire install invoice that asks customers to come in for a re-torque after 100 km, I am glad no one was injured". And that was his only response. So buyer beware. Apparently, if you do not go into Canadian Tire for a re-torque after having them installed on your vehicle, your tires can literally fly off. A very disturbing experience that luckily did not cost lives. I am just so thankful we were not on the highway when it happened.

I went there with a flat tire but they didn t have the size that my vehicle needed. Which is usually the case as most stores don t carry the big ones. But the lead mechanic Peter was knowledgeable and helpful to give me a closest tire size that would get me to where I need to be. Coz of him my journey didn t get halted. The whole team is awesome that includes Peter, Dave and Eric. Would definitely recommend these guys and the store. The team is a blend of both experienced and young working in unison..!! Great job..!!

There are a few knowledgeable staff but the majority are clueless. No one knows where anything is, and no one offers to help when they see you standing there looking up and down the aisles. Good luck finding anyone to help. Actually stood for 5 or 6 minutes waiting for help from a manager that was having a casual conversation with a friend. I walked away.

Normally, I'd keep this to myself, but given my terrible experience, others who are considering using the Canadian Tire automotive department should beware. I'm not surprised to see countless other reviews and comments related to poor communication, non-existent customer service, and opportunistic and unnecessary up-selling. Unfortunately, this was also my experience. I wasted close to an entire afternoon due to poor communication (called to come back to remove a carseat that had already been removed, and then waiting without any timeline conveyed). From what I observed, the issue is just woeful management. There is no way a responsible manager would allow customers to come in and out daily and have such terrible experiences (and not do something about it). It's a stressful time, and I'd like to think that everyone is doing their best, but some very small changes to the way things are done here would make a huge difference. Also, if the owner and/or manager is reading this, you don't need to apologize and offer me a phone number to call. I tried calling the number ahead of time (I saw it on other reviews) and it's just the general national line, with no direct route to staff that handle complaints. If you peruse the ample negative reviews here, you already have everything you need to move forward with changes (rather than wasting more of my time).

Since when is there an $135 00 inspection fee to change a serpentine belt in a vehicle.... very disappointed with the customer service in the auto department... I've been a loyal returning customer with every vehicle my family has owned and never have I been so thoroughly disgusted as I am today. ..

I was looking for an item that the web site said was in stock. I looked all up and down the aisle where it should have been. Unable to locate it on my own, I went to find a staff member to assist me. I walked up an down the main aisle, looking up and down every cross aisle to no avail. As I was about to give up, I saw a staff member approaching me. I said "excuse me" as we were about to pass. He turned his head, looked directly at me, and proceeded pass right by me with zero acknowledgement. I stood there, stunned, for a moment. When I came to, I looked around to see if anybody else saw what had happened. Unfortunately, the store was practically empty.

Was it a ghost, or a sales associate in desperate need of re-education? I don't know, and at that point, it didn't really matter to me. Either the place was haunted, or it had tragically negligent staff. Whichever it was, it was no place for me, and I left immediately.

I have mobility issues and unable to find the item...

I have mobility issues and unable to find the items I wanted that were on sale. I had a list and went to a cashier and requested assistance. Another person took my list and returned within 15 minutes with all the items in a shopping cart. It was put through the cash and a young man was tasked with helping get my purchases to the car. What great service!

Was great besides the constant following of myself and my family, you could tell despite the recent descrimination lessons being taught all over the world the tolerance for us aboriginals should be finally accepted, but it seems old blood rears its head.

Had to do a return and the staff spent more time discussing the previous return than it took to just do my simple return. It was a thousand degrees in there, I was wearing a mask and winter coat of course, and the ordeal was unnecessarily painful. And I always find the old familiar staff there are consistently unfriendly and seem more and more inconvenienced by customers on every new visit. But i did find this sweet deal on my way in. Yay me.

Im standing in line at automotive....waiting for 15 min now....for one of the 5 people to acknowledge me....I had to come in after being hung up on a few times today. I cant believe the level of inneficiency and grumpy faces

Got new rims and summer tires put on my car a few ...

Got new rims and summer tires put on my car a few minutes after my tire light was on I took it soon myself to check my PSI and everything was sitting at the recommend amount which was 32 PSI, I called to voice my concern about my warning light being on ever since I got the work done and the lady said they could check it but I would have to wait 2 hours??? This was the first time I got any work done at Canadian Tire and I think I'm just going to still with one of the other automotive shops in town since I know they can do the job correctly and not make me wait in line for an hour since only one employee knows what he's doing.

Wht can I say Anadian Tire is never going to change. They have just about everything you could want and more. If I had 10 thousand dollars I could pend most of it in 20 minutes and still not have all I would like to spend just for my very small apartment.

Dropped my truck off for the weekend to get oil change and back Monday morning to find my truck with tires off and not ready at all! They were trying to force me to do brakes on my vehicle. Not at all good customer service.
