Hate this store! Can never find what you are looking for and when they do have a good sale in their foyers they only get in 3 or 4 of the item. Why even put it in the flyer if you are already sold out to employees before customers even get there. Frustrating!!

The line at the mall entrance was extremely long, and we all had to walk through pools of what looked like transmission or brake fluid. Heard several people inquire about safety factors to no avail.

I am very disappointed with the automotive service department. An very elderly member of my family had her snow tires, on rims, stored at CT. She brought the car in to install the tires and store the summer tires. The bill was over $100 and she didn t question it at the time. She did call them later and was told she was billed $28/tire to put them on rims. I can confirm they were on rims! Latest response is they want to examine the tires in storage to confirm they are on rims, but can t do it now because their truck is in for service! So not only will they not believe a customer, but with all the employees they have they can t do their check. Pathetic service.

Big selection. Prices seem reasonably competitive. Customer service is spotty; sometimes quite good, other times disappointing.

Revising my review lower. Rest of store is as above but avoid the service department. Suggest checking some local neighborhood mechanics.

ALWAYS a huff and a puff at checkout. If you hate your job that much... quit! Slow and unhappy employees. ONLY ever go to this store if I NEED something that is on sale... otherwise I avoid it at all costs.

I was very disappointed to see staff on the floor not social distancing. The store was crowded and there were very few people wearing masks. You should be doing better than this. I love Canadian Tire but come on .

I was looking for an item that the web site said was in stock. I looked all up and down the aisle where it should have been. Unable to locate it on my own, I went to find a staff member to assist me. I walked up an down the main aisle, looking up and down every cross aisle to no avail. As I was about to give up, I saw a staff member approaching me. I said "excuse me" as we were about to pass. He turned his head, looked directly at me, and proceeded pass right by me with zero acknowledgement. I stood there, stunned, for a moment. When I came to, I looked around to see if anybody else saw what had happened. Unfortunately, the store was practically empty.

Was it a ghost, or a sales associate in desperate need of re-education? I don't know, and at that point, it didn't really matter to me. Either the place was haunted, or it had tragically negligent staff. Whichever it was, it was no place for me, and I left immediately.

Well 3 strickes and your out, store is great.

Well 3 strickes and your out, store is great.
My issue is the auto center. Have always used the center, 3 issues have not been delt with.
I have only had my tires worked on at the local center. Last tire exchange I was told I had a striped out lug bolt in need of repair
$5 for the bolt no big deal, they striped out the new bolt and was told that the threads on the wheel were the issues and would be fixed for over $150, your center was the onky center used so I said it happened here. Got nothing.
Was told my bearing was bad due to this with no explanation what so ever, as well I need new breaks, again proved false, now I come to find out my steele caps are gone and replaced with 4 random plastic caps.
I will no longer ever use the auto center here at all! Once I fet my winter tires out of their storage I wont ever go bak to that center. Get a grip on your mechanics here all I here around town that people are going to stop going there. If you make this right I may return.

I'm constantly pleasantly surprised by the things I find here and the prices. The quality products I come looking for are always here but I'm also finding things I thought I would have to go elsewhere for, and I'm finding them at very competitive prices! This is your best bet for a first stop on a shopping trip.

You know. . . Canadian Tire does not get the recognition they deserve. Yes, things like toilet paper and pop is more expensive but guess what? They're not a grocery store. I have gotten a lot of lights, cords and incredible service from their automotive department and I will definitely be the first to say that they are a great store. They also have awesome hours of operation.

Placed an order online, was charged for it, cancelled it was refunded. I get a notification I was charged again for it and the staff first off said no I wasn't then said ya this isn't the first time it happens a lot but it might be a fluke. Can you just wait and see? Can I just wait and see if the universe decides to refund me?! This isn't the first time and they act like your the problem just for calling.

I always find what I'm looking for. Prices are reasonable. They now have self checkout. Staff is always helpful for me (if you can find them). They have gone out of their way to find me information that I've needed. I once had a dead battery and wasn't even shopping there and their Auto center got me a boost. Good work CT SSM!

Well as walking into store an elderly lady was trying to push her cart and hold onto her cane...needless to say...she and contents of the cart flipped and she was on th ground...two gentlemen and myself assited her...when we got her up I noticed 2 emplyees watching about a foot away..the young man didnt offer to help or assist her to her vehicle with her purchases...the other gentlemen took over...I continued inside to make a payment on my account as I had arranged...I called head office to inform them payment in cash had been made and wanted payment put on my account as there were items on sale I wanted to purchase...was told that it would take 5 days to process even tho they were paid direct. Was able to use my card and had to use another...puchased a Nova dehumidifier...no personel was available as store is reconfiguring everything and no ones knows what is going on...tried to lift item by myself and couldn't...cut my hand on bindings...a fellow shopper saw me struggling and assissted me. Thank goodness for the people in Sault Ste Marie...cause some employees were not to be found or useless..one employee did get me a bandaid...took 10 min and it took another employee 10 min to get me papertowel to clean the blood before I could put the bandaid on....

My son, a student attending college in Sault Ste M...

My son, a student attending college in Sault Ste Marie, had our 2017 Kia Soul serviced at Canadian Tire. Just under 6 months later the oil drain plug fell out while he was driving on the highway. He pulled over immediately. The car was towed to the Kia dealer in Sault Ste. Marie, where we were told that the engine was damaged and must be replaced.

Initially I was told that it was our fault as the car should have had an oil change sooner. I took their word for it, but my son pointed out that the car s maintenance schedule for normal wear is 12,000 km/6 months. Maintenance schedules can be debated but I think it is fair to expect the oil drain plug to stay on for 6 months.

I then contacted Canadian Tire customer service who explained to me that they had determined that it was not their fault and that it must have been a catastrophic failure. The customer service representative explained that if the drain plug had been loosening off, the bottom of the car would have been covered in oil and that since it wasn t it, they were not responsible. However, the car underside of the car was covered in oil; it was only visible when the car was up on the lift.

At the request of the customer service representative I sent pictures of the car. An hour later I received an email stating that they feel that the oil change was performed properly. In a follow up email, they stated sorry that we are not able to come to a satisfactory resolution and that there is no further recourse with our office at this time.

I have tried to escalate this within Canadian Tire, but they will not respond. Kia will not warranty the engine as Canadian Tire did the oil change. I am left with a two year old vehicle that requires a new engine and although it was maintained as per the vehicle s maintenance schedule no one will warranty it.

My son grew up going to Canadian Tire with me on a regular basis. I completely understand why he decided to go there to have the car serviced. Unfortunately we have learned the hard way that you put yourself at risk having your car serviced there.

Update:

Today Canadian Tire informed me that After further review of your file, I m very sorry to inform you that we have determined that Canadian Tire cannot be held responsible for the problems that you have experienced with your Kia Soul . Interestingly I have no idea what methodology they used to determine that as they have not even looked at the vehicle; it just feels like an exercise in Canadian Tire saying no.

As a consumer I have a vehicle that was maintained as per the manual, but I am left with an expensive unwarranted repair because I had the oil changed at Canadian Tire. If my dealer had completed the oil change, and this had happened it would have been warrantied. Consumers need to be made aware that having a vehicle serviced at the Canadian Tire represents a potentially costly risk.
