Campo Verde Review

This is officially the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My daughter and I always do a mommy-daughter Christmas outing and this year we ended up at Campos Verde for lunch. The line to get in at 11am was a bit long but expected. We were seated by 1130 and all was great. Waitress took our drink order and promptly came back requesting our food order about 10 minutes later. All is good. About 15 minutes after we ordered she stopped by and said she saw it in the kitchen and we would be next. Great! 15 minutes later our waitress stops by again and said that we are next out of the kitchen. Okay- there were several tables after us that already had their food, but no big deal. It s coming. At 1230- almost an hour after the ordered she brought food to people who were both seated and ordered after us. She said that they were coming right behind and would be there next. I reminded her that she has told us that twice already and I just wanted to pay for my daughter s coke and leave. The manager comes out next. Great! We re gonna get some food! Nope! He says burrito to go? I tell him nope and what my order actually was and he says that the kitchen is backed up and it wasn t ready. I let him know that we had been told that it was ready twice and pointed out others that had food before us. I asked to pay for my daughter s drink and leave. He says you don t have to pay for a drink and walks off! Not once did he apologize. Not once did he ask what was going on. Not once did he offer to go get my food. Needless to say, our wonderful Christmas lunch quickly turned into Christmas hell. So incredibly disappointing. Please, please, please train your staff. One simple I m sorry would take made all of this better.

Service was pretty good food was not that great have been to Spanish restaurants that were a whole lot better Calia disappointment

This place is always so good! Great service I ve been going since I was 16 and have had the same waiter Greg he always delivers great service which is very hard to find any place you go. The food is always so good and fresh chips! If you haven t tried this place you should ask for Greg or Mikayla.

Food was good drinks where not. The service was good too. I'd go back for the food.

The absolute worst food Ive ever put near my face...we ordered the chicken fajitas for two...neither the onions or bell peppers were sauted they were crunchy, the chicken was really tough. What they called rice just turned to mash when you pressed your dollar tree fork on it and still ended up with a $53 ticket....awful

The decorations were amazing and made for a great dining experience and the food was good!

This place may be the victim of it's own success. If you go there on a weekend you will be waiting a long time in a hallway that resembles a refugee camp lit up by Xmas lights. Total chaos. They have so many hostesses on staff but refuse to take reservations, so the hostesses are there to yell out the names of dismayed families waiting for a table. And it would be something if once you were seated the food was top notch. But it was passable at best. My son likes the toy train that travels about overhead.

Average food, great customer service, eclectic decor, fun place for the kids

The decorations are worh the visit but that is about it. I ordered the chimichanga the beef was over seasoned, the beas were flavorless, the rice was dry, and the guacamole tasted like it came from a plastic tub. I didn't try the chicken tortilla soup for the fact that it just didn't look appetizing. The only thing that was good was the chips and salsa. The "quaso" that is served with the chips taste like melted craft chees slices.

The beans needs worked on & dont put cheese on them.

For me this place is a nostalgia trip. It reminds me of the Mexican restaurants I used to visit with my parents growing up in Arlington in the 80s. The atmosphere is fun with Christmas lights everywhere, 70s decor, and the train running around the restaurant. Sadly the food also reminds me a lot of those same places from the 80s. It's kinda bland, and the dishes haven't changed in a long time. If you like that kind of old school Tex Mex you'll probably like it.

It's worth going for the nostalgia if your like me, but probably not if you want great food. Honestly the food reminds me of Pancho's when Pancho's was still good, so it isn't bad, but it's not worth writing home about.

Good food and the Christmas decor was awesome. My little girl was amazed.

This has to be the best enchilada dinner I have ever eaten. They have a lunch special for only $5.50 and it was scrumptious. This is a place that I will definitely return to and the atmosphere is so great they even have a train that goes around the track up on the top of the ceiling. They also have all kinds of Christmas lights up all year round thousands of them. The entire staff was great and took care of all of our needs.

I've eaten here a few times before and it has always been an enjoyable experience. Today however was quite different. I ordered the same thing I've gotten the other times I've been there 2 chicken enchiladas with taco beans and rice. Ate my taco took a big bite out of my enchilada and had to spit it out ASAP! The smell and taste was like death. I asked my daughter to taste it to see and she started to and then put it down and said I can smell it its rancid. I had lost my appetite by that point. The waitress was real sweet about it trying to make it right. But this establishment has BAD management. I can completely understand paying for my drink and taco but he also charged me for the beans and rice I was too nauseated to eat so basically I paid $30 for a 2 drinks a taco and 2&1/2 beef enchiladas because my daughter also lost her appetite after smelling the bad chicken. We will not be back to this establishment due to bad management and the fact that they let that meat make it to a table smelling like that. I've worked in the food industry for over 15 years and cross contamination happens but we always got rid of the bad stuff we didnt serve it and still charge for whatever else the customers cant eat off the plate afterwards. Train your cooks better and food cost won't be such an issue that you feel its necessary to do those things to your customers that's bad for business!

I really like this place, the food is good, but it's the atmosphere that makes an outstanding. I always take out of town gueststo Campo Verde because no matter how you're feeling, it's an uplifting place to go. The staff is really nice, and in particular I like the chips and salsa. Portions are generous, and as I said, the food is good.

This is the kind of place I would have loved visiting as a kid, and would probably have developed a taste for Mexican food much earlier than I did as a result.

Good food and service. I have never left disappointed, but I have left with to go boxes. Large portions and large selection makes this place our go to for Tex Mex.

Service was awful and the food was terrible. We went for my Birthday. I got a taco salad. Nothing but grease at the bottom to where I couldnt eat the meat or beans. The shrimp cocktail had zip zero zilch flavor. Tasted like tomatoes soup with shrimp. The Pico they put in it didn't even have a flavor. Love the atmosphere. I love Christmas so it was perfect. Only wished everything else was too. Won't be going back ever. Ruined my birthday dinner for sure.

This is a family favorite. Everyone enjoys the food and of course the crazy fun Christmas lights. Everyone should go.

The absolute worst food in the history of cuisine...food looks soggy and thrown together even in the photo...the real plate was much worst ,no to go containers..no green salsa,no pride on craftsmanship...I literally had to find my tortilla underneath a heaping pile of thrown together landfill looking mess on a paper plate...this is disgraceful to the culture of latino ppl...they take much more pride than this st Any local Taqueria resturant.....not even a lime in this mofo....Today My Soul Died to witness this catasrophe... Today I want to apologize to All Mexucan residents for this absurd betrayal that has been placed upon your tables...Today my dead abuela sheds a tear from heaven. My Madre will one dat be resurected in the blood of christ..but if she tasted this....she would die again and never want to return......this food is capable of killing Corona and cancer at the same time....my lord....

This is a must go to during Christmas time! Our 2 yr old loves the train that goes around the resturant. The food is delicious and comes out pretty quickly even when their extremely busy. their chips have some type of seasoning that I personally am not a fan of (my husband likes their chips) but they will bring you out unseasoned chips if you ask for it!

Food was good, service was great, had a huge plate of food to eat, no wait to be seated and price was fair. Was busy food arrived quickly and was hot.

We came during the Christmas season, and was absolutely unprepared for the sheer number of Christmas lights. This place is visually insane. I recommend everybody go and visit this establishment at least once in their life to appreciate the full on immersion of what can only be described as Holiday Hell.... But in a good way.

I was at The Spot Lounge watching the superbowl on a 100 inch screen. Great Hookah lounge to come hangout.

Awesome Christmas atmosphere, with lights and garlands everywhere. Toy train rolls around the restaurant on tracks above your head. An employee told us they start decorating in October because it takes 7 weeks! Food was good, not great.

Food was o.k. Service was great. It was rather bland as far as taste goes, but everyone was very nice.

It was decorated AWESOME, but the food wasn't that great and it was EXPENSIVE!

Food is standard tex mex. They have a few dishes that I haven't seen elsewhere. Atmosphere is awesome.

The food is okay although it is a little pricey but you can put together a good meal at a decent price on the ala carte menu. the Ambiance of the place is very memorable and you won't regret eating there. the chips and salsa are very good.

This is my favorite Mexican Food place. Cheap (If you do a placard special), the atmosphere is awsome, service is awesome.

The worst mexican food I have ever had, ever. Nothing made from scratch. The meat sauce was literally Wolf Brand chili, the "queso" was fake cheese from a can. Even the tortillas were just store bought tortillas. Absolutely terrible. Don't go here just for the christmas decorations, not worth the wait, not worth the pain that comes after...

P.s. we got price gouged and didn't realize they added an extra 8 dollars to our check. 70 bucks for 4 people is outrageous.

Awesome atmosphere and good staff. I have gone frequently over the years and always have a pleasant experience. Not overpriced food, plus all you can eat caso with seasoned chips mmmmmhhh.

I've eaten there for many years long-time customer went there a couple days ago ordered my combination fajitas the person that was with me ordered are cheese enchiladas. That night we were both sick. Very disappointed the portions are smaller now but the customer service was running good I had a very good waitress.

We drove an hour and was here over and hour and half BEFORE close and they aren't seating anyone.

Seriously? That's absolutely rediculous.

Common sense says if you are booked full you don't shutdown an hour and held before close. You keep open.

Great food and service. The Christmas atmosphere is very special and peaceful.

I've lived on Arlington for 26 years and I've frequented this restaurant many times; the most recent being last week. In my opinion this place would get a 5 star rating in decore alone but the food is lacking. Every Christmas we have to stop by because they spend 6 weeks before the start of the holiday season getting the place ready and it's really a must see. Just in case you missed it they keep the decorations up until June. Unfortunately when it comes to food the bottom line is that this place serves over priced Tex-Mex food and you will get tastier food for a better price at Taco Cabana. Those are my two cents and with all that said I will probably go visit Campo Verde again next year around Christmas.

This has been one of my favorite places since I was 16 or so and I still love it. The food is pretty good and the decorations are what you would expect if Christmas exploded! Recommend trying it out

Fun, different atmosphere. Love watching the train. Food is ok. My husband can't stand the food. My son loves going here. The wait staff is great. Long wait times during the holidays makes for limited parking, even on a weekday night. My biggest complaint though is there's a smoking section, and it's right at the front where you come in. So when you have to sit and wait for a table, you're subjected to second-hand smoke. I always ask that they seat us far away from the smoking area.

Fun place for the kids with so many fun things to look at and the staff is usually very friendly. However the food is par.

It was packed, ambience was worth it for sure. Food was okay, guacamole was great.

I was very disappointed . It is a very cool place to look at . But very disappointed with the service , food was ok everyone at my table liked what they had . Server was very slow come to find out she was playing games on her phone . Will not go back

Love the cheese and chips... Changing my review because the food was not very good tonight... They desperately need to retop their parking lot. Need to remember to put seasoning on that chicken, generally helps make things taste better...

Beautiful festive atmosphere. I would come just for the chips, salsa and cheese sauce served prior to the meal. I have never been disappointed in any entree I've ordered. Enjoy
