Half Baked Tanning Reviews

Refused to give my wife a refund after saying she would give her the option to tan or get a refund after asking my wife is she was going to scratch up her bed because she left a negative review on Yelp and Google. (Long winded sentence for the win)

Friday my wife went into this tanning salon with the intention of using her monthly pass but had our daughter with her. The lady was already upset because a previous customer had used the restroom in her tanning bed and she had to turn down a local doctor because of this. My wife learned all this from waiting her turn to speak to the lady about using the bed and allowing my daughter to sit there. She said No it was against the rules and that my wife had known that already. We were under the impression the kids were not allowed to TAN *under 14yrs* but we were never informed they could not sit in the booth. My wife then tried to ask the lady 3 times ; unsuccessfully due to interruptions from the lady, if our daughter could sit in the office/waiting room. Without hearing her out she said "NO NO NO". My wife gives up and leaves and eventually writes up a review.

So here comes today, my wife decides to go back (without daughter lol) and asks to use the bed. The lady asks if she was going to ruin her tanning bed because my wife left a bad review. She gave her the option to use the beds if she wouldn't damage them or give her a refund.

The lady starts giving my wife a hard time now about friday. She lectors my wife (who is an LPN) about why she even brought her daughter along stating it was "torture to make her sit there". My wife let alone anyone shouldn't have to give reasons to ANYONE why they do anything to begin with if its not police but my wife being the nice person she is tells her my daughter asked to go with me so she could be dropped off at the theater afterwards. Who would of known this would of caused WW3 in Mountain Home Arkansas lol.

After listening to this enough, my wife decides she just wants a refund instead of tanning. The lady then says NO! She tells my wife that she thinks my wife is a person that always has to be right. When the facts are facts, they are the facts. So she wasn't wrong.

She shows my wife a contact she signed years and years ago. Nothing recent due to the fact she was too busy to go over the rules or have her sign a new contract when my wife signed up a week ago for a new month (first time in probably 5++years we've been there). Thats the reason overall why she won't give her money back.

Whole situation is silly and petty to hold $70 over someone else's head because another customer.

I spent 70$ there this week. Intended on tanning and staff got very nasty. Very unprofessional.

The owner is clearly very judgmental and rude. The looks I got made me feel very discriminated against. Not to mention the prices are outrageous

Wow, a rip off. I had almost 3wks left when they were forced to close. They failed to notify paid customers when they reopened so now you lose what you paid for. They won't honor your paid time. Unprofessional in my opinion.

I ve been tanning here for years!! Always super clean, and very friendly staff and owners. Best prices in town!! Beds are top of the line, always with new bright bulbs. Bed #2 is my favorite! The stand up bed is also one of my favorites. Rooms are so nice with radio, towels, makeup wipe removers and so peaceful. If you aren t tanning with half baked you re getting BURNED!

Body shames her customers & makes them weigh themselves in front of her on an inaccurate scale.

Great pricing, beds were kept up to date, bulbs replaced when needed, great office experiment with knowledgeable personell, easy access of of side street

She is very rude and I m surprised she even has customers she is insanely rude. I m pretty sure anywhere else could be better than this :)

Poor customer service skills. The owner needs new scales to properly weigh individuals over 200 pounds so she won t body shame them and ask them to pay extra for more bulbs. Yes It s her business, and she can make her own rules. But the way she responded to the customer is completely unacceptable.

Very unfriendly atmosphere. Just her posts on her page in general and how she communicates with customers on her page is VERY unprofessional. Not to mention calling out customers on their wrong doings just doesn t sit well with me. She is a very classless lady. Never in a million years would I think it would be okay to treat my customers the way she has just in her Facebook page, not even mentioning how she treats them when they visit her store! Very degrading and extremely rude. How sad that someone is allowed to run a business and tear other women down when we should build each other up. Don t waste your time or money here when other tanning salons in town will be more than happy to help you! Shabby 2 Chic is amazing!

This place is the BEST!!!!!. VERY FRIENDLY STAFF AND VERY VERY CLEAN !!!!.

Owner is rude and unprofessional. Instead of taking a customer's word about there weight she forces them to weigh themselves in front of her. When called about hours she acts like it should be a given on when she is open for business. She shames any kind of negativity with a harsh tone.

The woman is a completely insane. I paid for a full month of tanning. She upset that I turned the facial off (I was never told I could not turn the facial off). She told me she reserved the right to refuse anyone. Refused to let me tan again, and refused to refund me for the remainder of the money. She actually locked the door on my face. I told her I was going to report her. Then when I made it to my car she came outside yelling flipping me off! Wow!

Super nice place, clean and very professional and I really appreciate their attention to good customer service and safety
