This place is absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!! I can t believe I ve never heard of it until now!!! I went a week before Christmas and was absolutely blown away by the lights and decorations! It s enough to make a grown adult feel like a giddy little kid again!

I was told they have lights up all year round, but from October to late February they add tens of thousands of more lights.... taking about 2 months to put everything up....

I definitely recommend EVERYONE experiencing this at least once! It s almost magical and help get you in the Christmas spirit.

We always love Campo! It's a fun, quirky place to take the family. Tons of Christmas lights and delightfully chintzy decor up all year long, and a miniature train that runs on a track all around the top of the wall. It's a quirky restaurant that's old as the hills and is full of character. It's no gourmet restaurant, but it's delicious, reasonably priced, fun family dining. It's a great place to take out-of-towners or to try for a family outing. Everyone has to try it once!

What is there not to love about this place other than the slightly higher prices. There are two model trains that run on tracks around the building. It is decorated in thousands of christmas lights. The specials are great. The Guadalajara fajitas on thursday are fantastic. The quesadillas are one of my favorite things. The mexican pizza is also delicious with ground beef, beans, and a metric ton of guacamole.

This was my first visit in over 20 years. My wife wanted to see the decorations, and we both wanted Tex-Mex, so it was a win win. The meal comes with cheese sauce and salsa. Both were really good! The chips are some of the best I've had. The enchiladas, tacos, chili rellenos, beans and rice are all very good. The decorations are insanely hypnotic. They did an amazing job. They passed the true test though. The food easily stands on its own without the decor.

I keep getting talked into going back here even though I've always thought the food here was vastly overrated and the "experience" overrated as well. On this most recent trip, I ordered chicken quesadilla...hard to mess up chicken quesadilla, but they did. It was basically a pile of cheese heaped on like the Russians were coming for the last of the free world's dairy. Hard to eat. Tortilla crumbled - yes, crumbled - under the weight of all that inedible gross cheese. Not much in the way of chicken and not seasoned well at that. I picked at the chicken and left most of the cheese/tortilla mess on the plate. I'd give it one star except that our waiter was very friendly and gave good service.

I'll never understand why this place stays so busy. Perhaps it's the novelty of the tacky Christmas lights and decorations. Food is average at best and pricey compared to other restaurants with fresher, hotter food. The seasoned chips and salsa are the only reason I gave any stars, but the "cheese" queso is best described as a gelatinous orange substance that is in no way cheese. The service used to be better and staff friendlier. It's a once a year family thing in memory of a deceased relative who loved the place, otherwise I wouldn't return. Added to review later - 3 in our party got sick in the night. These aren't three that live together and passed around a bug, it was the only three that ate the fajita's which would normally be the one thing I would suggest off the menu.

This is one of the greatest Tex-Mex places around. Free complimentary queso, awesome chips and salsa and it is Christmas all year round. The food is excellent and the wait staff are friendly and helpful. The ambiance of this place cannot be overstated, it is amazing!

The only thing we enjoyed was the atmosphere and the train m used to come here all of the time as a child, and it brought back a lot of good childhood memories . But the service was mediocre at best, and we were rushed the entire time, even though it was quite empty. After the 3rd time of the waitresses returning to see if we were ready within a 8 min time frame, I was forced to order. 1 stars only for the unique decor.

This might be the worse Mexican food I have ever tasted in the almost 25 years I have lived in Texas. The chips were salty and the free queso is nothing more than a Velveeta-like substance. The "manager" rudely came up and interrupted our server when she was taking our order and told her she was not properly doing her job. On the way out of the restaurant while paying, the manager again scolded the employee insisting the restaurant cannot take any more credit cards for the rest of the evening.

And the food.....

- The enchilada was a hard, congeealed, cheese-covered thing, which would be OK normally, except the ingredients were clearly of poor quality and the whole thing tasted as if it had been sitting in a tray for weeks.

-The burrito thing was even worse as the meat was a dark grey color and clearly tasted old.

Nothing about this place merits a return. The food did not even taste like food. I have had cafeteria-style Mexican food that was at least edible. What was this?

Ok, so the thing you have to understand about this...

Ok, so the thing you have to understand about this place is that the food is odd. Not terrible, just odd. How do I put this nicely? They put a very anglo spin on tex-mex and it's not the best. Do you go here for the food? No, you go here because it's an Arlington insitution and it looks like someone vomited Christmas lights all over the place and it makes you feel like a kid again - or you have kids and they LOVE it. Is the food edible? Why yes, it is. Do the people that say the food is good here probably also think Panchos was good mexican food and think ketchup is spicy? Yes. And that's ok, because they keep this place alive so the rest of us can come eat at a campy restaurant once a year, enjoy the lights and say "the next time we want to come here, we're just coming for beers" and then come again a year later, enjoy the lights, eat and say the same thing.

The atmosphere is great and the people are nice. If that was the only thing to judge this restaurant I would have given it more stars. I may be a bit of a food snob but that is only because there are so many great restaurants why waste time with bad food. First the chips were lackluster but the seasoning was good. The salsa tasted like store bought and the queso was too bland. We decided to split the fajitas and they were really bad. They weren't sizzling and half were burned and charred. The corn and flour tortillas were bad as well. The only thing good here is the Christmas decorations. I even ordered water had to ask for a refill and was given tea.

Was seated and then told to move to accompany a walk in. Got the fajitas. Chicken was dry and has ZERO taste. Overpowered with spice but no taste. Tortillas were hard as hell. Rice was sticky and had zero taste as well. Would give this place a negative number if I could.

Worst service I have EVER experience. You guys.. I have never ever left a bad review before. Ever. But I have to make an exception this time because its well deserved. Don t waste your time or money. Just drive through Taco Bell and a nice neighborhood if you want to eat Mexican/see Christmas lights and still have a decent night.

Oh my goodness that poor waiter did not know what he was doing he was either under trained, just 2 young, or just 2 under studied on the menu. He messed up everything, for everyone. We had a very very large parties so it's understandable being an evening rush to make a few mistakes but golly. Place is super cute If you wanna look at some lights. 3 stars cause I feel back for the kid. Place deserves a 2 though For quality of food and quality of service. And yes the food is overpriced for quality.

A long-time Arlington favorite by us locals. GREAT Tex-Mex, always good service and you can't beat the year round Christmas lights decor. The magic always comes around every 15 minutes or so as the overhead Lionel trail traverses the tracks to the del8ght of young and old alike.

Went to Campo Verde Saturday today and we were seated and waited on fine until a big party went in then we were completely ignored by all the waitstaff who were going back and forth by us and another table never to be waited on again. Not fair that we were treated as if we were invisible.

Great food and service. A friend and I sat in the bar. The bartender, Dave, was working. Nice guy and always goes out of his way to make sure you are happy. Fiesta Nachos with beef, beans, and cheese tasty. The margaritas are a bargain at happy hour. All in all, friendly atmosphere.

The decorations are something to see, you might not be impressed but you haven't seen anything like it before. The food is OK, not great but not bad either. The service is good. We will probably not come back even though it is just right down the road. It's a one time experience for our family.
