Staff is amazing, super helpful. Facilities are very well maintained.
Cabins have heat and a/c, bathrooms with multiple showers, but don't really have enough privacy to use simultaneously.
Plenty of activities both indoors and outdoor.
Worship center, gym, dining space, cabins and parking all very close together.

Naynay made our visit perfect! We were last in line for the zipline and it was time consuming but the staff was trying their fastest to get to everyone by 4pm. It was 359 and this guy walked up and said only 2 of 3 of my kids could go because they had to close at 4. Of course my son got upset. I understand their is a schedule but when you make us the cut off for the line you should still allow all of the kids to go! Naynay said she would take the blame if the team got into trouble which I can't imagine them getting into trouble. We had a great time and my son goes to summer camp here every year. Thank you for all the memories!

My daughter attended adventure camp this summer. I am extremely upset that her camp counselor decided that discussing LGBTQ+ issues with 13-15 year old children was appropriate.

She told them that they choose to be gay. She said they are sinners. She said that no gay person can be a true Christian. My daughter was extremely uncomfortable and had no escape.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!

My child attends an open and accepting church that welcomes LGBTQ+ people with open arms. She has gay family members. She has been taught love and acceptance. What her camp counselor said to her and the other children was vile and unacceptable.

She has attended camp at your facility for the past 4 years and has enjoyed it very much. This being said, I am going to contact management and ask for a return of my $50 dollar deposit. She will not be returning. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

That counselor could today be responsible for a child's depression or suicide. Shame on all of you!

People that are higher up in Joy El seem to think that the best way to solve a problem that they dont agree with their workers is what I would call bible thumping. They made me feel convicted unstead of uplifted. I fuilt bullied and belittled. I had payed money to join a program to beable to learn and grow in ministry but they made me do work, work, and even more work. Keep in mind that I was paying them. The first month I was there I was forced to have no technology which was not mentioned when I had signed up. It was the longest I had been away from home and was not abble to talk to my friends and family. I loved doing the ministry work but was forced to do other such things such as clean and shovel snow. If it was my job I would of not minded do those things but again I was payig them. I then left the program because I became ill and yet they still made me work long hours. The only reason why I stayed as long as I did because I was convicted by the leaders saying I was supposed to honor my commitment and if I left Iwas putting myself before God. The day I told them I actually decided to leave I was yelled at and kicked out that day and was forced to cut ties with the friends I had made there.

the food was not good and I threw up many times because of it. The cabin I stayed in was gross And there was bugs everywhere and was not in good condition. I was forced in the pool when I had womanly issues. Overall this was not a good experience

Our daughter has attended this Christian Camp for the past three years and always looks forward to the next. The staff are great and she always comes home enthusiastic telling us all kinds of stories about her week all the friends she has made. She keeps in touch with them in between the summer months. A high quality, very reasonably priced, Christian Camp!

I've been going here for years, and it s hard for me to not cry every time I have to go. I can t stand the place, counselors, food, activities, and I don t feel like I belong. I m a Christian and love to worship God, but I REALLY don t like it here. It makes me so upset that I have to go again this year.

Its great its a nice place to spend the weekend with the family but specially when u come as a group with the church family. Staff are great and the private rooms are very comfortable. The only thing that i would suggest to make a little improvement on is the food I think.

I worked at this camp a few years ago and absolutely loved it! They are very intentional about discipleship for the leadership team. They really helped form me into a leader. I spiritually grew so much there and they are very intentional and focused on that at every level. I could not recommend a camp or job so highly!! 10/10 recommend them if you are looking for a job or if you want to send your kids to camp!

Came to the Joy camp for a church event and I had a great time with Kids and spouse. Everything was fun and wonderful Except the food was not that great. We had a hard time with the food. Staff needs to hire a better food service. The rooms weren't that clean and the bathrooms where really small. We enjoyed a variety of sports football, basketball, baseball, volleyball and soccer. We had a ton of fun with the go carts that was so much fun!!! The pool was very clean and also had great swimming fun at the camp!! We went canoeing on the lake, and we ziplineed also annoyed everything on this camp!!! Over all we enjoyed our selves!!! Thanks for reading my review, please hit like if you like my reviews!!!

Had a great time here! Spent 2 days here at Camp Joy - El with other fellow Baptist Members (Men) for a 2 day Men's Retreat. This is a very clean, well kept Camp area. This was my first time here and I have to say, I was definitely blessed!

I went for 3 years and the first two were fun but the third year ruined them. I did some sort of intensive that was specifically for people in 5th grade and was specialized for going into middle school yada yada. It was awful to say the least. We weren't in the cabins with the ac and running water, but rather in platform tents in another section of the camp. That part wasn't fun but not the worst. We had to brush our teeth using lake water and there were about 25 of us using one portapotty. Every meal they would pick one random kid to go sit alone about 100 yards away from everyone on the "isolation hill" with no explanation whatsoever. I was there with two of my friends, both of which got sick that week. Both of them were vomitting and had fevers and wanted to go home. They wanted to talk to their parents but the staff said the already called home and talked to them. Then one of my two friends passed out during capture the flag. No one knows how long she was out, but she woke up crying and not really knowing where she was. After another trip to the nurse they still said they couldn't talk to their parents. That night we slept outside. On the ground. Freezing cold. My other friend spent the entire night vomitting into the grass and the two of them only had one blanket to share. So yeah aside from that huge epidemic, the camp still sucked. We went on a tubing trip down the river and we got to a point were it was blocked off by a 7ft wall, so the main adult leader (I think her name was Regg or Reggie or something else that started with R) made us throw our tubes over it and then climb over fallen over trees so we could get to the top of the wall and jump off the other end. Then when we got to the other side, she made us all stop and have a mud fight against our will. She actually MADE us. If you didn't partake in it she would come up behind you and put a handful of mud on your head. One girl broke (or lost, I forget) her glasses during this mud fight and she couldn't see for the rest of the week and had constant migraines. So then it is the end of the week and we are more than ready to go home. Our parents come to pick us up and they ask how the week was. Those two friends I was talking about are both confused and they say "as good as it can be when you're vomitting" and their parents had no idea they were sick. The staff told both of them (numerous times) that they already called their parents and they weren't allowed to talk to them and their parents had no idea they were sick. So yeah 10/10 would not reccomend. The first two years I went were eh because I did the normal programs but because of the last year I would never reccommend going there.

My child has gone here for about 5 summers and always loved it. Last year was our last year! I will not send her here again. The children in her cabin were not nice to her, she told her counselor and was told that it was her fault they were mean to her. Also we were told that registration was later than it actually was, so were late registering her. So when we got to her cabin and noone was there we asked where everyone was, we were told the other children went on a tour and that my child could wait in the cabin, by herself. Against my better judgement i let her stay the week because my child said she wanted to stay, and she was bullied all week. My child had asked to call me to pick her up after the comments from the counselor and was denied. I called to complain after i found all this out and was dismissed as if my child was lying..
