Awesome experience, Great Staff, No issues!!! Its your wedding day and this place thought of everything and made sure it was done. Best day of my life! Food was delicious and we had the rehearsal dinner there, we ate breakfast 2 times, and the wedding food was great. Cocktail hour food was amazing! Thank you CEI

We had originally booked Cameron Estate for our daughter's wedding in November 2019. Due to circumstances beyond our control I informed Cameron Estate Inn that we would not be able to use their facility as we had hoped. I informed our sales agent; she led me to believe that we would receive our $2500 deposit back. This was more than a full year in advance. Yes, the contract said no deposits would be returned, but again, the decision was out of our control and we gave them more than thirteen months notice. I signed a release and heard nothing. I contacted them multiple times and they wouldn't budge. $2500 of our money in their pockets, and they'll end up renting the space anyway. We feel ripped off.
I attended a wedding here last week. Venue is beautiful and as a guest I had a great time but certain staff members were impolite. As a guest it is a wonderful place to stay, but if you are planning on throwing an event here I might reconsider.
So disappointed with the changes. The elegant period correct dining room is now a diner environment. We almost turned around & left when we saw the place but decided to give it a try since we were here. Food selection 4 entree's, one sold out by 7:30 pm and other ones not very interesting. Food was in keeping with diner atmosphere. Saddened by the changes the new ownership did; certainly not doing justice to be beautiful facade.
Marissa, Victoria and the team at Cameron Estate Inn literally saved our wedding. There are no words that I can say to truly thank them enough for the role they played in our experience and for making our dreams come true. We were booked at a different venue for over a year and had an absolute nightmare experience. 50 days before our wedding we determined that venue was no longer a viable option and we had to change venues. I was panicked and called CEI on the recommendation of my photographer and was connected with Marissa. I will remember that call for the rest of my life. I explained my situation and before saying anything else she said Okay, well first off, I want you to breathe. We have your date available and everything is going to be just fine. We ve got you. I can still remember the weight that was lifted off my shoulders in that moment because of her. She assured me that even though we were 50 days out, it was plenty of time to re-plan the wedding of our dreams. Sure enough, within 3-4 weeks we had toured, fell absolutely in love with the estate, booked, had our planning meeting, tasting, sent out venue change cards and were on our way as if we were never booked elsewhere. Every time we were at CEI we were greeted by Marissa with a smile and giant hugs as if we were life-long friends. We only got to enjoy being a Cameron Couple for 50 blissful days, but even still, they felt like family and gave me the planning experience I had always imagined. Marissa was there the entire day making sure everything was on track and perfect while also making sure I didn t have a single need that wasn t met. I am an event planner and former wedding planner, so I am naturally always thinking 12 steps ahead and have a list in the back of my mind of things that could go wrong and how to fix them if they do. But on our wedding day I was totally relaxed. I honestly knew that they had things handled and everything was going to be perfect. The true, honest and genuine support and guidance you receive from Marissa and Victoria from the first email to the last second of your wedding I do not believe can be matched by any other team at any other venue. Their entire team, from Marissa and Victoria to their culinary team to set up/breakdown are five star. Combine this with the truly breathtaking and magical grounds and venue spaces, sets any couple up to have the most memorable and amazing day of their lives. We will recommend CEI to anyone we meet for the rest of our lives. Marissa and Victoria, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you SO much for treating us like family and giving us a more perfect day than we could have ever imagined.
I had my wedding here this summer. While the facility was very nice and went well for pictures. The management at this establishment is less then desirable. We had many issues on the wedding day. For instance the neighbors wet dog interrupted our photo session, the staff during the reception was rude to our guest, etc. We tried to look past these issues to enjoy our day. However, months after the wedding they charged our credit card for items they "forgot" to charge us on the day of our wedding. For the amount of money this place cost, the hassle they put you through is ridiculous. I wish I had never chosen to have my wedding here. Its a shame, I wish I was able to look back at my wedding and feel happiness. However, all I can think about is the issues we have with this establishment.
Lets start of with the fact that the room we stayed in, was not worth $130. I would say its worth about $80 range. Ominous feel, looked like i stepped on the set of scream 3. When we first got there, at 9pm, When we walked in, Nobody in the office, all lights off. we saw a note taped to a window, with our name on it. The note described where our room was and informed us about breakfast. As we walked into our room we were kinda shocked. The key to our room was hanging inside of an unlocked door (our room) with a tag, that read, "$125 replacement fee if lost". Yeah. $125 for a key that is in an unlocked room which can be easily stolen. Not modernized at all, besides a 19 inch flatscreen tv. Ceilings were cracked, looked caved in, musty smell and look, Minimal outlets, and power strips everywhere to make up for it (fire hazard). Bathroom was extremely small. We didnt have soap for the shower, so we called the 24/7 number for service, we then were given the owners/employees own soap from her own bathroom. Yeah... Pass. Breakfast was not great. Overall, mediocre experience and i wouldnt recommend it.
Nice place, with very nice accommodations. However, the management must address their WiFi problem. There was no WiFi during our brief stay, and since the estate is in the middle of nowhere, cell service is spotty at best. People today must stay connected. But it was a nice one-night getaway.
We were some of the only guests in the place when we stayed, so we were able to walk around and see all of the rooms. The accommodations here were beautiful (my only complaint about the rooms were that the bathrooms were in desperate need of a fresh update and significantly better lighting). However, that is where the beauty ends.
The hotel was severely understaffed in the evening. Our waitress for dinner was also who checked us in, and was also in charge of dealing with room issues. Needless to say, the light bulb in our bathroom that was out was never fixed. The food was fine, but certainly did not deserve the price tag put on it nor was it actually "fine dining."
Following a mediocre breakfast the next morning, we heard quite the racket coming from the lobby. (Mind you, we were at the complete opposite end of the hotel). We emerged to find two employees having a completely inappropriate shouting match over something as mundane as remembering to lock the office door. Both employees preceded to storm past us, still screaming at one another, slamming doors behind them. When we approached the front desk about the argument, we were told "Don't worry, you're fine, it wasn't you." Of course it wasn't us!
At this point, we decided it was time to leave. When we approached the front desk about cancelling our reservation, the woman who informed us that "it wasn't our fault" then had the nerve to say that she'd still need to charge us for the second night. After standing our ground, she finally conceded, and we promptly left.
Overall, we had an incredibly negative experience here. Cameron Estate Inn has the potential to be a fantastic getaway B&B; however, the management here needs to wake up and realize that potential.
We attempted to address our concerns with the management of this place, but unfortunately the response we received was to get some complimentary services and when I responded that we wouldn't be coming back silence was our response. Trust me we didn't want to stay at this place twice. Once was enough.
First of all, the food in the restaurant is not good. Lavendar Cornish Hen tasted like perfume - nothing subtle about this dish. Desserts were even lousy. Sides terrible. Whoever is supervising the kitchen doesn't taste the food - the food was terrible. The room we got was the best they had to offer and most expensive with unpainted spackled ceiling, no curtains on the bathroom windows, filthy bath tub and the room was so hot when we arrived as someone Left the gas fire place on it had to be 100 degrees in the room. When we asked for assistance the registrar who appeared to be the only person available said "I don't know anything about these things" and so collectively we figured it out and had to literally put our hands in the fire to turn the switch off. Couldn't turn the air conditioner on as that didn't work. This place looked so promising but was h o r r I b l e. Complimentary breakfast inedible. We ordered toast which came ten minites after we got our food which was also at the same time we walked out. How they stay in business and have such poor customer service on top of it beats me.
Such a pretty wedding venue. Lots of different ceremony areas and every space has it's own feel, romantic, natural, rustic, classic. Definitely recommend!
We just had our wedding here in the carriage house this past weekend and it was amazing. We had Dakota as our planner and she was so patient and detailed. Our day was perfect because the Cameron staff was amazing. We had amazing day and all f our guests were so happy and couldn't stop talking about how amazing the day was and the food. If you are lookin for a place to cater to you and your needs on your wedding day and have a beautiful backdrop for photos this is the place. We actually also had Dave as our officiant for the wedding who also works at the estate. He was amazing and customized the ceremony around details of our lives together. We couldn't have been happier with the day.
I attended a wedding at this location. The venue was beautiful and charming. The food and service were excellent. My only complaint was that there was no sign next to the restrooms indicating that a handicapped accessible restroom was available on the far side of the reception hall. It would have been helpful to know that immediately upon entering. Otherwise, this venue is excellent!
We held our daughter's wedding here in August 2017 and are extremely pleased with the professional, patient and attentive service they provided from the first stages of planning to the ceremony and reception. Our guests raved about the venue and food. The grounds, bridal suite, conservatory and reception area are beautiful so we enjoyed ourselves and the pictures are gorgeous. We liked the blend of elegance with open space in Lancaster County. I highly recommend Cameron Estate Inn and are grateful for how memorable and pleasant they made our special day.
I attended a wedding here. The property is beautiful and the staff is friendly, courteous, attentive, and very professional. The overall experience was wonderful and definitely one to remember for many years to come.
My daughter was married at the Cameron Estate Inn this past April. We looked at several venues in Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. Once we visited Cameron, the choice was very easy to make. You cannot find a more beautiful place for the ceremony, spectacular picture opportunities all over the property and even the rooms for the bridal party preparations were perfect! Having the reception right there kept the flow going. The guests who stayed in the Inn had nothing but wonderful comments. All of their staff were amazing and made the planning seamless. You MUST see it to appreciate all that they have to offer, and the price is VERY affordable.
Beautiful historic inn and venue. I'm a wedding officiant and have performed many weddings here. There's not only a beautiful outdoor venue area but also a finely decorated indoor seating area. Then you're guests can move over to a different building for food and drinks.
Will never come back. The room was nice but no one around if you needed anything like ice or water you think you would have better service for what the room cost. I could have stayed in a hotel and had more for less money. And dinner the waitress was rushing us it was clear she wanted us out.
Drove up with the spouse from Maryland for my 50th high school reunion, but didn t want to overnight in a generic motel room in Harrisburg. What a pleasant surprise. A pre-Civil War mansion where Lincoln no doubt would have discussed strategy with his minister of war, what an unlikely place for a first rate restaurant ..., and two hours from Columbia, MD!
Let me start by saying you will not regret having your wedding at the Cameron Estate Inn! From start to finish our wedding planner Dakota was on it. She is extremely organized and professional and her communication is impeccable! She is also very friendly and is always patient, even if you ask a million questions (which I did!). The grounds are absolutely beautiful, the mansion is gorgeous (and has an amazing history), and everything is kept very clean. I did not feel the need to hire an outside planner with all of the help I received from Dakota and the other CEI staff. In the months and days leading up to the wedding Dakota thoroughly answered any and all questions I had and made sure I was comfortable and confident with the wedding day timeline. The day of the wedding Dakota and Emily made me feel like a queen! They were there for me from start to finish with a calm demeanor that put me at ease. Emily checked up on me and my husband many times during the reception to make sure we had everything we needed. I have been to many weddings and am a huge foodie myself and I have to say, the food at Cameron Estate Inn is absolutely delicious! The bistro steak is my favorite! The drinks were great as well, having an open bar is definitely the way to go! Thank you again to the Cameron Estate Inn for helping to make my wedding day one of the best days of my life!
The B&B was not as pictured . While we had a "nice" room it was not worth even the discounted rate. There is no cable service on the TV's in the room only 4 station antenna service. The dinner meal was amazing and the service in the evening dinning was wonderful. The morning breakfast was horrible! a very small portion of quiche and literally 6 diced potatoes and 5 grapes with a slice of orange. When I asked if we could have toast they said they ran out of bread yesterday and were not going shopping till Wednesday! We will not return or recommend.
We held a company event at Cameron Estate Inn and it was absolutely perfect. The food, atmosphere and service were all top notch. I would highly recommend!
I cannot believe the way an owner spoke to me. Please see below. The last two paragraphs are the best. Mind you in reading this email, none of this is factual nor did he ever call me and ask me for my side of things. He threw accusations and this was his response to Their unlawful charge on my credit card. The place is rundown and the rooms were gross. My shower never worked and the drain was broken every time you went to shower it turned into a bath. This place was unprofessional in how they treated myself and my wedding guests. DONT STAY HERE!! Please read owners response below... Again, the last two paragraphs are the shockers...
I'm sure you are aware of the actual situation since you and your friend are the ones who broke the planter. When you asked Danielle if the planter could be moved told you she didn't think so but would go and check to make sure. By the time she returned with an answer, which by the way would have been no, you and your friend had taken it upon yourselves to move it anyway. The planters are old and fragile which is why we don't allow them to be moved. When Danielle returned you then told her to clean up your mess. If this had been an accident then it would be a different situation however it was not an accident it was an intention action by you in direct defiance of what we told you.
The planter was not broken prior to you trying to move it, you broke it when you moved it. This was absolutely your fault and you should be ashamed of yourself for not taking responsibility for your own actions. The charge is not unlawful, you are responsible for any damage to our furnishings, fixtures, equipment and property.
You are welcome to post as many reviews as you choose. We will merely respond to them with the truth of the situation. We will not be bullied or blackmailed by the threat of a bad review. In our experience people see these for what they actually are and it just makes you look petty. We have an overwhelming number of good reviews out there. A contentious review merely adds credibility to the good ones so knock yourself out. Additionally it lets people know we are serious about damage to our property and what we tell them
The room's were not only beautiful, but each one was different, and some were flat out cool (the door to one room was a bookshelf). The staff was courteous and professional, and the food was delicious. I would love to go back again and again.
Although the property is beautiful it was a disappointing experience. This was not the relaxing fine dining experience you would want from a B&B. Although the dinner was delicious the room was more like a outdated attempt at a diner/restaurant. This has become more of a venue destination and if you are looking for the true B&B experience this is not for you. The dining room was brightly lit with recessed lightly and had no ambience or character to the room. It was rushed and disorganized. If we had known there was a wedding taking place we never would have booked. Breakfast was another disorganized disappointment, potatoes were cold and the eggs Benedict casserole was barely warm, not to mention you have to walk down the hallway to get your own coffee, juice and no salt and pepper. In this age of COVID social distancing and enforcing mask wearing while not seated was not enforced. Mangement needs to decide is this a crossover hotel/wedding venue or a B&B because those of us looking for the true B&B experience should have been made aware of the difference.
Bed and breakfast atmosphere is cool and historical. The lack of professionalism from the inexperienced "General Manager" (Louis) instead of trying to resolve a simple problem, made it a bigger problem all around. The restaurant is the furthest thing from upscale. The breakfast was ok but don't go hungry, if you order the croissant and 2 fruit slices and want more, it's going to cost you $15 for half a Belgium waffle, strip of bacon and some potatoes. Dinner, couldn't eat it. Watch out for the exposed tack strip on the tapestry in room 23.
Beautiful venue for an intimate wedding. The food was amazing as was the service. Would love to go back and stay as s guest at the BnB. The rooms look so beautiful.
Beautiful Scenery, Brooke, Landscape! Because of COVID-19, the reception had to be moved to an outdoor venue! Staff were great! Hot, bugs but otherwise a beauty of a venue! My room was awesome....right there next to reception area! Comfy, great air cond! Only complaint is the free breakfast next morning was 8-9 am.....way too early after late night before! This why I gave only 4 stars! With Covid abound, breakfast should have been longer time with less people each time!!
Our wedding was 11/19/16 at CEI. I had nothing but a great experience with the venue! One of the biggest perks of CEI is having a consultant to work with who really helps you iron out every detail of your special day. Dakota was personable, prompt in her responses, and nothing but helpful as I tried to brainstorm through a lot of tough details of the wedding day. CEI has BEAUTIFUL facilities for an indoor wedding, and has a great discount for off-season dates. I rented out the Simon Cameron room at the Inn for me and all the bridesmaids to get hair/makeup done the room is very spacious and made for amazing pictures while we were all getting ready. Having the room also made the whole getting ready process so much less stressful. They also provide a complementary room which the groomsmen were able to get ready in. What s great about CEI is that everything is all-inclusive no renting silverware, chairs, trying to find a caterer, etc. which can be a complete nightmare. Every guest raved about the food! We ended up having 7 guests not show up and the chef boxed up these meals for us to take home and share with family so nice not having it be wasted! CEI is VERY affordable considering many venues in central PA have venue fees of $5,000+ just to have your wedding there (not even including food!) We had a very tight budget and were able to stay way under it at CEI. I would recommend the venue to any bride!
Worked here as a set and banquets server. The place may look good but has numerous issues all around. I really don't know how they are and still remain in business. I realize it's Covid but this is going on numerous years. Management is often fake and relatatory. They put on a show but is often rude and disrespectful and take personal vendetta's or relatiations against staff when they speak up knowing there rights. They think they are a small business they can do whatever they want and it's not the case. The food is often horrible with a chef that takes short cuts or does not know or want to make the food requested in banquets or wedding. The chef ruined 4 weddings in 4 days causing embarrassments and discussed. I actually got sick numerous times eating there. The food does not look professional. The food appears like something you can get from your own back yard grill or get at Walmart. Staff off all round is worry some, rude, and often playing follow the leader with no real clue what to do. The often have to many people scheduled that leave you yelled at cause there is nothing to do or too many people doing the tasks. Management will fire you if you stand up for your self if you know they are breaking the law. They will fire you if you refused to sign anything and you legally by law cannot be forced or coerced into signing anything. They will fire you if you for refusing to work off the clock for any reason. Staff have admitted they illegally working off the close from 15 mins to hours on end. They want you to work volunteering for anything unpaid. They will work you with no breaks and say it's the nature of the business when it's a lie. I have had numerous break many different ways I'm this Industry. They are instant rude to an new employee till you prove yourself and wonder why no one stays at the business.Let me just say that they do not want anyone to defend themselves when they are in complete wrong and illegally wrong and will terminate you for doing so claim you had an additude because you stood up for yourself. They want you to to believe that they are a gift to have a job with them and you are to compresmise your ethics. They could care bout Federal law. They only care about that 20 grand. Be very careful with these people. You can find a better place for a wedding or event than here. Looks are very decieving.
Had a lovely night at the Restaurant and staying at the Inn. The grounds are lovely and great to walk around and explore. I'd recommend reading the IBM's Wikipedia page, as it has quite the history. The food for dinner and breakfast was delicious and the chef and staff were great about making changes for my gluten allergy. Highly recommended for a romantic getaway.
Worst dining experience ever. Made special plans for my husband 75th Birthday. The worst dining experience of my life. No one refilled drinks brought extra rolls. It was like we didn't exist. Waited forever for everything. When the food finally arrived food was cold. Steak was supposed to be medium it was cold well done and chewy . The manager offered to have the meals remade after we were there 2 hours all ready. I would neve recommend anyone dine at the Inn.
Delicious! Went for Valentine's Day and they had a set option and a regular menu to choose from. We had the set menu and everything was superb. Staff was impeccable, ask for Dana, she was our server.
Just went for a tour. Beautiful property, good accommodations and decent pricing. Decent service from the tour lady, but not from the front desk lady who was very unprofessional and rude.
I used the Cameron Estate Inn for my wedding and it was amazing, and I could not have asked for a better day. We also did rent out the entire Inn for the night of our wedding and had our closest family and friends stay with us and they all had very positive things to say as well. It is a little pricey, but I think it is worth every penny!
My fiance and I visited Cameron Estates to tour their facility to hopefully have our wedding there. We were very impressed and Dakota took good care of us. The staff is professional and organized, but also friendly and inviting. Dakota was up front about everything, but not in a blunt way. She loves her job, and it showed. We were only there for about an hour and a half in early May, but I was in love. Amazing scenery for pictures, beautiful ceremony and reception locations, and a very inclusive wedding package.
We really enjoyed this wedding venue! Everything was clean, presentable and beautiful. The wedding coordinator was on top of everything and did such an amazing job. The cocktail hour had fantastic food and the staff were great. The main meal wasn t as good as cocktail hour, but it was still good! The reception area was beautiful and well decorated. Overall we had a great time!
We celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Cameron Estate! We were married there October 1, 2016 and had the most amazing experience, so when it came to planning our 1 year celebration, we knew the only place to go was back to the Inn! Dinner and breakfast were both absolutely delicious! We loved getting to see Dakota and Mary again too! Dakota always goes above and beyond and we are so thankful for that! All of the staff are so welcoming and accommodating! We had the absolute best weekend and cannot wait to return for our 2nd anniversary next fall =) Thank you to everyone at the Inn for making our 1st anniversary so special and memorable!
Went for a wedding venue tour. Indoor spaces are very nice and the new building will be a good addition. Outdoor wedding space need some work to remove some electrical poles and freshen it up.
I stayed at The Cameron Estates for a small family overnight during the week. We basically had the place to ourselves, and we re able to experience the beautiful grounds. It was very convenient to local wineries and shopping. The breakfast was delicious too!
My parents recently came to town and we hit up quite a few higher-end restaurants around south central PA. This was by FAR the best. I was the only one in our party to do the prix fixe menu (which comes with soup and desert), but they all wished they had by the end. The soup of the night was turkey corn chowder and it was absolutely amazing. The salad came dressed with their own vinaigrette that had excellent depth of flavor. For my entree, I had a juicy and tender filet mignon that was accompanied by a good crab cake and root veggies. Dessert was an excellent pumpkin cheesecake.
Overall, my only complaint was that the beer I got had been sitting in light too long and was a bit skunky. That's a minor concern, though, when the food was great - something you don't find too often in this part of the state.
Marissa and Victoria were a joy to work with. They take so much stress away from the bride by ensuring all the little details are addressed. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and perfectly carried out. The food was excellent and bartender was amazing! I m so thankful we chose Cameron Estates!
I am a temp to hire caterer who has worked for Cameron estates many times. This is such a quiet and quant little place that is much bigger than expected. With multiple wedding options and beautiful rooms that are all Victorian style. A beautiful conservatory for indoor wedding and a very pretty lily pad style area by the spring for outdoor weddings. The staff here are so easy to work with. They all truly love their jobs and completely believe in being there to please the guests! They all work very hard to in their own words " begin a beautiful adventure " for the newlyweds .
The chef and front desk manager went out of their way to accommodate our request to dine on the deck of the room where we stayed. The restaurant was overbooked, but the chef prepared a beautiful lamb dish for my husband and scallops for me. Soup and salad were also delicious and obviously very fresh. Our room was lovely too, and pet friendly, which is important to us. Thank you to everyone, who made our stay and dinner memorable and amazing.
