Calvary has a wonderful little coffee shop called Mr. Bs. They have a great indoor play area for the kids and a spacious area for adults to enjoy coffee and a bite to eat. A worry free way to relax while your children play in a safe and clean environment.
I grew up at this church. I spent 25 years at this church. I want to warn people about this church. The Bible is not the final authority of this church. They have women teaching and leading which is very unbiblical. The Bible is taught in a very watered down and diluted way. There are many aspects of the Bible they do not teach on or ever mention. If you are looking for a church that teaches and tries to follow all the word of God this is not the church for you. I encourage people to stay far away from this place. Put your faith in Jesus Christ alone! Not Jesus plus repenting of your sins, not Jesus plus your good works, not Jesus plus your changed life. For I delivered unto first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures: and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, ALL things are become new.
Must a person have a change of life to prove salvation? How much change is needed to know if you are really saved? Many people point to this verse in 2 Corinthians to teach you must have a changed life or you are not saved.
Notice the verse says ALL things. Do you still lose your temper? Do you still have bad thoughts? Do you still lie?Do you still put yourself first before others?
If your assurance of salvation is in that your life has changed then you are trusting in something that can not save.
You may not have realized this but when you look to your works or changed life to determine if you are saved you are trusting in your works. We sin everyday in thought, word and deed. The Bible says even the thought of foolishness is sin.
The truth is unsaved people change their lives all the time. They give up smoking, drinking, stop overeating. Does that make them saved? No.
What happens if your life doesn t change once you get saved? What happens if your life changes for the worse? This verse in 2 Corinthians is about your new birth the moment you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you receive God s spirit which is perfect and does not sin. 1 John 3:9KJV. Your spirit is made new. That s your new man. But you still have your flesh till the day you die which dwells no good thing. The Bible also refers to the flesh as the old man.
1 Corinthians 3:11-15 KJV speaks of those who will receive rewards in heaven for their good works. Then it tells of others that will not receive rewards because they did not do good works but they are still saved and in heaven. Don t look to a changed life for assurance of salvation. Let s be honest if you look at your life and works for assurance of salvation anyone who spends enough time with you will find something in your life that makes them doubt your salvation. Trusting in your works and changed life is simply believing on yourself. You only receive salvation when you believe ON the Lord Jesus Christ. John 3:36 KJV
He that believeth ON the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
NOT of works, lest any man should boast.
Ive been attending calvary for 15 years and have had many wonderful experiences. Its easy to get involved and serve if you put yourself out there to do so. On the flip side, being such a big church, you can be lost if you dont reach out and TRY to meet people... big churches arent for everyone but I've had many positive experiences here and have grown immensely in my relationship with the Lord.
Furthermore, the sermons given are real and include many deep meaningful scriptures.
Thank u to all who make each service happen!
As a visitor,I attended with my son who goes there. Very uplifting and community oriented.
We have been in search for a great church for our family and we found it. My girls look forward to going to church and so do my husband and I. Wonderful programs for children, amazing pastor, friendly people, ways to get involved with the community.
Love it here.great teaching and guidance.all welcomed.
Where they share the love, bag the judgement and teach truth by example.
Remember when you point at someone, there are 3 more fingers pointing back at you!
Twice we listened online and twice the lesson was shorter then usual. Change isn't always a good thing.
Calvary is the best church I have ever attended. Their mind set is what can they do for others not what you can do for them. Service is 100% bible based and I have learned more about what the Word says in 2 years than I have in my whole life. The Bible school classes are awesome!
A church committed to reflecting God's love, relationally, missionally, and transformationally.
It is a welcoming church and offers many opportunities to enrich your spiritual journey. Enjoy seating and sipping on coffee with family and friends at lobby.
Calvary church Souderton is a true 5 star experience, I have been attending this church for a few years now and I absolutely don t have a single bad thing to say about the entire experience. What originally brought my family to this Church was a referral to Dr. Charles Zimmerman, renowned as a blessed and talented speaker, a wealth of knowledge but makes his biblical knowledge engaging and simple. The church is massive and seemed intimidating at first, but our first visit, there
were tons of greeter, a dedicated welcome center to get to engaged in the church and programs. They offer a superb child program with a wealth of children resources. It was very friendly and appealing and made my son love the church from the beginning. They have dedicated wings of this place with children underwater sea themes and castles upstairs, and even a teen ministry below the cafe. tons of weekly bible based activities during church. After church we found ourselves mingling with other at the cafe mrs B cafe, attached to the church open to the public, with a three story mega kids playground inside, while the adults grabbed a coffee and lunch. The actual church experience is fantastic, they are very musically talented at Calvary with a slightly modern feel. I love the events that they host here, they truly have something for everyone. One of my favorites is the Men s breakfast bowl that happens every year near the super bowl where they bring in an athlete that speak of his Christian walk and journey. I ve been luck enough to see Brian Dawkins, Jim Kelly, and shortly after Eagles super bowl mvp qb Nick Foles. If you are looking for a compelling new direction in your faith or looking for even a new place to worship, you should definitely give souderton s Calvary church a hard look. I forgot to mention they have a phone app that allows you to interact and listen to dr. Zimmerman weekly
This is Calvary Church of Souderton. It is not affiliated with
Calvary Chapel in any way.
I love this church. Its a great place to come and worship. No pressure. They even gave me one of their bibles for free which I still have to this day.
I love this church. The messages are usually thought provoking. The music is great (sometimes I find the band a little loud, but they do a terrific job. Everyone does for that matter. I've been going for 10 years
They dont just preach about the word, they actually preach the word. I can't wait to be a part of the church!
Great church have been going there for 4 years and still love the environment and atmosphere. They have free coffee and hot tea each Sunday Morning. There lots of volunteer options and always a great band.
Calvary Church in Souderton is a wonderful place to celebrate the understanding of the bible. It is very good for young growing families. They have place for the children to attend services according to age groups and they have a auditorium/ theater type service for adults. It is a combination of music/singing and bible study. They do a lot of missionary work in urban areas and other countries. We attend the 10:30am service on Sunday but their is an earlier service too. They have numerous services at different days and times for the Holidays.
Warm and welcoming! Casual attire or dress, jeans welcome.
Good people. Good message. Large church that makes you feel welcome.
Continuing what Jesus started is the theme of this church and it shows in every event and meeting I've ever seen there. One of my favorite places to take new people who are searching (and finding) answers just like I am. Totally blessed to have a place like this. See for yourself, I'll save you a seat front row 2nd service!!
Don't go to the Christmas light show. We waited in line for an hour and a half to get in. My little grandson was so patient and good, and then we get about 5 cars from the entrance and they close at 8:30 when it was advertised to be open till 9. Bad testimony to the public! Not worth even one star.
Meaningful worship...only wish I could connect with other families. ..a large church makes it a lot harder
Wonderful teaching ministry. Excellent music as well.
Every program and ministry this large church does is run with excellence to the honor and glory of God. Great place of worship where the gospel and Bible is preached with unashamed accuracy. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved and serve for people of all ages. Don t base your opinion of this church after just one visit or one person you met here.
