I grew up at this church. I spent 25 years at this church. I want to warn people about this church. The Bible is not the final authority of this church. They have women teaching and leading which is very unbiblical. The Bible is taught in a very watered down and diluted way. There are many aspects of the Bible they do not teach on or ever mention. If you are looking for a church that teaches and tries to follow all the word of God this is not the church for you. I encourage people to stay far away from this place. Put your faith in Jesus Christ alone! Not Jesus plus repenting of your sins, not Jesus plus your good works, not Jesus plus your changed life. For I delivered unto first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures: and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, ALL things are become new.

Must a person have a change of life to prove salvation? How much change is needed to know if you are really saved? Many people point to this verse in 2 Corinthians to teach you must have a changed life or you are not saved.
Notice the verse says ALL things. Do you still lose your temper? Do you still have bad thoughts? Do you still lie?Do you still put yourself first before others?
If your assurance of salvation is in that your life has changed then you are trusting in something that can not save.
You may not have realized this but when you look to your works or changed life to determine if you are saved you are trusting in your works. We sin everyday in thought, word and deed. The Bible says even the thought of foolishness is sin.
The truth is unsaved people change their lives all the time. They give up smoking, drinking, stop overeating. Does that make them saved? No.
What happens if your life doesn t change once you get saved? What happens if your life changes for the worse? This verse in 2 Corinthians is about your new birth the moment you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you receive God s spirit which is perfect and does not sin. 1 John 3:9KJV. Your spirit is made new. That s your new man. But you still have your flesh till the day you die which dwells no good thing. The Bible also refers to the flesh as the old man.
1 Corinthians 3:11-15 KJV speaks of those who will receive rewards in heaven for their good works. Then it tells of others that will not receive rewards because they did not do good works but they are still saved and in heaven. Don t look to a changed life for assurance of salvation. Let s be honest if you look at your life and works for assurance of salvation anyone who spends enough time with you will find something in your life that makes them doubt your salvation. Trusting in your works and changed life is simply believing on yourself. You only receive salvation when you believe ON the Lord Jesus Christ. John 3:36 KJV
He that believeth ON the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

NOT of works, lest any man should boast.
