Staff was friendly and helpful in giving directions to different exhibits. Offering a $5 discount when purchasing online and getting time tickets for seeing the pandas is a great paperless and smaller lineup alternative. This place is pretty big so will take more than a few hours to explore.

What a great zoo! It's so big I could spend the whole day and still not be able to take every little thing in! The little cafeteria type restaurant they have is wonderful! So many options for reasonable prices. The whole place is always so clean and staff we come across and friendly and eager to answer any questions anyone has. I can't wait to try the Sunday brunch here!

Great experience. Some exhibits under construction though. We went during the week and most of the food vendors were closed so bring your own food and drink - it will be easier for you! The zoo has mostly recovered from the floods.

As an adult still enjoy this place! Really good place to take the kids though to expend all that energy! Great place to come if you're new to calgary and wanting to do something not hiking/Cowboys related!

The staff is friendly and so informative, our favourite parts of the park are the Penguin exhibit and the newest attraction, the Lemur Walk!
You actually get to go inside and walk amongst the lemurs, there s also a rope bridge and a few other fun things for the kids in there!
As always, well done Calgary Zoo!!

Long walk for Canadian wild and quite disappointing wildlife collection. But the panda attraction gains popularity for people to go visit. I would plan my travel better next time in Calgary.

It was the first time I have visited the zoo. Lots of great animals to see. Many things for kids to do. During the COVID 19 safety measures are in place. I enjoyed my time there with my family

Not the most spectacular zoo you'll visit but as a foreigner it has all the stuff I wanna photograph. Really great Canadian wildlife exhibits (as you'd expect). Cafe customer service is absolute rubbish.

I always have a great time viewing the live animals here. Granted, not all of them are around to pose pretty for pictures every time, but hey, that's life. The Calgary zoo has never disappointed as far as seeing presenting fascinating examples of some of nature's coolest creatures and beasts and I admit: there are times I want to take a few of them home with me. It's also a neat bonus seeing all the visiting families with kids getting a fascinating kick out of viewing the zoo residents too.

It is clean and well run, even though it rained HARD on the day we went, we still had an epic time seeing all the animals and chatting with the helpful staff. Only zoo I've been to where 8 only feel slightly sad for some of the animals. That's just me being a softy though.
Tiger feeding time is amazing. Do it! I think it's at 11:30! So cool!

Had a great time here with family a few weeks back. Penguin area very cool. Whole place was pretty awesome. The pandas were sleeping while we were there, and the hippos put on quite a show in the jungle exhibition. Have never seen an animal rocket poop against the wall quite like a hippo can. Bizarre. Almost as gross as watching an Ostrich poop. Have fun!

It was a nice day to visit the zoo when we were in Calgary I've enjoyed the penguins , didn't see some of the animals but was excited to see camels and panda too :)..

If you buy tickets online you will get 5cad discount, pay parking 10 cad .

Fun place to go with family. The canteen has great food. Loved the fries. Lots of beautiful animals and friendly staff. I'd recommend this place, one of the best zoos I've been too. But needs options for lifts around the zoo if you dont feel like walking and maybe more shaded seating areas around the zoo, and drink locations. Other than that a great great zoo.

It has been approx 3-4yrs since we were last to the zoo. It was great the kids enjoyed seeing the animals and got to see some tiger training while there! Favorite thing for us was the lions, tigers, and camels. Didn't see any elephants though :(

Way to expansive really big land vise. But not many animals to See but they have some rear ones and practecly no rest area or benches in the shade unless you go to the rstorants the habitats for the animals look brand new and somewhat natural not a lot of experience expat for the lemurs

Had an amazing time at the zoo. The new panda exhibit is amazing, and all the animals were active and on display. Honestly one of my favorite places to go, a yearly membership is definitely worth the price!

It is really good for kids or those who are kid at heart. They offer something different every season so you have something to look forward to. I also like the staff and/or volunteers, who are very knowledgeable and willing to explain information about the animals.

We had a great experience at the zoo and were able to see the Pandas. there are so many different animals to see from all over the world. The price was reasonable. The Zoo was cleaned there was water and washrooms available everywhere. If you want to see the bears and the wolves in action then I would recommend coming in on a cooler day.

This is a great zoo. Meant for the whole family. Don t bother reading the bad reviews. Pretty simple. There a 2 star from a silver spoon baby that daddy paid for the world travel set and another one for a green peace that can only send bad reviews if it s not camping. We bought the season pass for our family. About 250$ Really cheap for a full year. It s paid off after the third trip. Not to mention that they supply free parking with it. Great job. Can t wait to finally see the pandas.

It's a great zoo. We always have a good time here. It's quite a long walk, so make sure to bring a stroller, especially if you have younger children. There was way less to look at in the dinosaur area this visit. If you are looking to pick and choose, I would save it for last. There are certain times they feed the animals which is fun. If you have a favorite animal, ask what time they feed it, and show up early. The lions have always been packed, and can be hard to get a good view. I love that they feature new animals, and have lots of things to involve the kids, with no extra charge! I've been to other zoos that charge for every activity, and even just to see some of "rarer" animals. You can also bypass the gift shop here which is great. The upkeep of the zoo is always top notch it is one of our favorite places in Calgary!

Calgary Zoo in my opinion should be relocated to a larger location if they want to keep large intelligent animals. They should not be able to keep large cat's in such small encloses. The gorilla enclose is no better.

Great family outing. Lots of walking - so if you have young kids rent the wagon or bring a stroller! Also would be a great idea to pack your own snacks and water - things are pricer there but it's expected of a zoo.

Lots of different areas for all interests, and usually two walking path options for long paths and shorter options! Great parks to stop and play at too - I just wish I could have tried the brunch!

Great experience on a beautiful day but I wish there was more for food. we came on sunday morning. started our day here before heading to edmonton. We had a blast and met Kim who was explaining different things about animals to us. Nice information and the penguins are so darn cute tbh. Super happy to have finally visited the zoo i've lived in calgary for a year and hadn't gone yet

Great zoo. Lots of walking so be warned if you have kids. Go early in the morning when it's cooler and the animals will be more active. Bring you're own cooler of drinks and snacks. They have many venues for drinks on site but super expensive. Parking is also added to the bill. But worth the investment for a great family day adventure. We did 3.5 hours today and were totally spent because if the sun. We did everything but one theme section on that time frame

The zoo is fantastic.

The zoo is fantastic.
I recomend getting season pass sonyoundont have to try and cramp the whole park into one day and you can enjoy it in parts.
I as well recommend that you stop along the way and watch the various shows and presentations. The staff is so knowledgeable and you can learn and be entertained so much by them.
Contributing to the conversation of these animals is important and taking our children there so they can see first hand why preserving the environment is so great.
Definitely worth a visit.

Well organized and spaced out so that you don't feel like you are too crowded. There are numerous opportunities for you to learn about the animals that are featured there. Top animals to see are the pandas, the hippopotamuses, the giraffes and of course the penguins!!

Fantastic zoo in a great location. Exhibits are well done and lots to see. You need at least 6 hours to go through it all but 7 or 8 would be more relaxing. Being a stroller or wagon for the little ones and to haul your gear for the day. Bring a lunch and snacks as food is expensive in the zoo. Park at the North entrance or take the train then go across the park to the Pandas (pre-book your time to see the pandas) and the Eurasia area then work your way back

Amazing experience. We usually go (adult family) once a year, and it is always surprise us to see how well kept the zoo facilities are, and how careful the staff keep the animal in their environment. highly recommended if you are looking just to relax and meditate while seeing the Panda eating their bamboo shots or the rhinos dancing in the water.

Great place to bring kids. Staff is helpful and it's kept somewhat clean. The panda exhibit is a bit smaller than expected but still great. Unfortunately, like most zoos, food and drinks are very overpriced ($3.50 for a bottle of water and $7 for a simple cheeseburger) bring food and snacks from home if you can.

If you re visiting Calgary for the first time, the Calgary zoo is definitely a must go place. Not only kids have fun there, the whole family will have a great time at this park.
You ll see the most exotic animals from all around the world, and will get amazed to visit species such as Pandas, and of course the penguins.
If you have a chance to visit in winter time you will see the beautiful zoo lights a kind of decoration at the zoo only available during winter season.
Be prepared with your credit card to pay $10 for parking, and the earliest you get there the better, that way you ll find a good parking spot closer to the main entrance.

Loved this Zoo . You can spend a whole day here . Lots of animals and nice places to see within the zoo area itself . Lots of food available inside the zoo itself . You should come prepared to spend your whole day here . Summer time don t forget to carry a hat . It does get tiring to walk and see the entire zoo but it s totally worth it . I loved the atmosphere

Me and my girlfriend recently took her little sister here to see the pandas and we had a great time. Other highlights included walking around the lemur enclosure, visiting the penguins, and the hippopotamus doing flips in his tank.

The food was mediocre at the Safari Lodge, and overpriced, which is what lost one star.

Overall a great place for an afternoon out.

Amazing experience! Zoolights was absolutely beautiful. If expecting to see animals you wont see much but still a truly beautiful thing to see. Expect to take a few hours atleast as they have activities for the young and old set up everywhere.

Great layout, great enclosures that ensure good welfare and enrichment for animals so they display normal behaviors. Wonderful educational opportunities for kids about the animals and conservation efforts. Such an amazing attraction to have in the city.

I could spend all day here, there s so much to see. The zoo is split into a few biomes including forests, Canadian landscapes, Africa, Asia, lemurs, and penguins to name a few. Everything was wheelchair/stroller accessible, and it is very kid friendly. All of the standard fare animals for a zoo are present including lions, giraffes, penguins, zebras, and the like, but there are also hippos, snow leopards, several apes, bison, wolves, bears, and even a butterfly habitat. Fares are pretty cheap, especially for what you get out of it, but water and snacks will cost you once you re inside. Great place to spend a day, especially with kids!

Beautiful and large attraction. Best times to go visit are when the trainers are feeding or doing other activities with the animals so you can see them up close. It takes approximately 4 to 5 hours to cover the whole place.

I think anyone can have a zoo, put up pens all over the place for the different animals then have signs out side that say there inside and signs inside saying there outside. Seems to work for calgary. Still a great place to visit every 10 years or so.
