We went to see hockey game Sharks/Flames yesterday and i thought this building construction is so outdated, it is not maintained at all, dirty, crowded and stinky. Ceiling looks like it is going to collapse - so scary.
Suddenly we saw tons of security and police meaning Calgary is justifying ever increasing police budget and preparing for terror.

Although the hockey spirit is still there and the staff so friendly and nice,
this will not end nicely in case of roof collapsing or any other incident in this obsolete building. There is no way to evacuate people quickly from the building
it takes forever to navigate through, in and out of this building.
I long time stopped taking kids to the ''family friendly' events at Saddledome as it is nightmare to walk up and downstairs, navigate to the washrooms, buy meals.
Prices for snacks are outrageous and what do we get in return??
This was my last time going to any of the Sadlledome events and i am urging people to stay away especially with their families/kids... because it is not about terror it is about poor building maintenance - when it collapses and people stupidly killed, city will say 'oops sorry,'

First hockey game. Fun experience. Flames lost unfortunately.

Love watch our home teams play, especially Roughnecks.

Love it here - is it 'cutting edge' and 'state of the art' -- nope...but IMO it's just fine for what it is.

Went to our first Flames game and had a great time. "We will be back".

Amazing place for hockey, but the concession is always jammed pack. The food is also very expensive

Love the saddledome. So many memories. It is a building in the shape of a saddle. I mean really. How awesome! Sadly it is getting older then the hills.

What can you say... good hockey, good atmosphere and good food. Check out a Roughneck's game if you get a chance!

Good variety of food and drinks. Very unique building. Newer chairs in lower seating (lower bowl and first 5 rows of first balcony).

No problem parking, easy in and out to watch a great game

I was extremely disappointed that they did not have a smoking section set aside outside for the patrons and did nothing that I could see about people smoking pot in the auditorium

Great staff! Great food! The poutine is awesome!! Nice arena. Parking is expensive but in close proximity to the saddledome.

Love this place! Love the Flames and seen many other events here. Parking is great and easy to leave after an event

Kind of ridiculous pricing for food when you can't bring your own but hey captive audience I guess. Facilities are nice enough, staff is good.

This place is starting to slip. It's getting old and it's starting to show.
From poor lighting in the corridors, cracked concrete .the speakers are blown in the stadium and it sounds horrible! (hire a audio engineer he will tell you) .
Maintenance seems to be lacking from time to time. From icy walks, sticky floors in areas, full garbage bins , dirty facilities,
Questionable food safe practices in some kiosks.
They do have metal detectors installed.
You cant bring bags to games but security must have been lax the night I went to the game.
To guys sitting next to me had bags and left them in there seats unattended for 30+mins while they went to the bathroom. So there's that.
Also customer service is severely lacking!
I emailed them my concerns over my wife slipping on some ice at the west stair entrance and called and left a message. That was over a month ago and no response.

The cheese on the nachos is different this year, it tastes like powder, its disgusting, do not get the cheese on the nachos! If this is a way of trying to save money, it's a horrible idea!

Food and drinks are pricey but the atmosphere is fun

This arena brings me all the way back the the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, where the Canucks used to play, prior to building GM Place (now Rogers Arena) in 1998! Yes, they have done many upgrades to the Saddledome over the years, but it just doesnt compare (in a good way) to any other NHL arena I have been to! Sure you can get cheap Sportschek Zone Tickets, but you will be lucky if you get to see much of the game as the views are terrible! Calgary truly needs a new rink, and will get one, but the city and team owners need to get their $#!* together!

Overpriced everything, from the cost of tickets to food and drinks. Plus now that Edmonton has a new event centre all major musical acts go there instead. It's an eighties behemoth that should have been replaced after the flood

Always a great time at the Dome. Lots of food and drink options. Friendly staff to show you to your seat

It's hard to get around if you have arthritis, a friend kept getting dripped on while at an event this weekend.

Decent accessibility, clean. Great visibility from the press seats.

We had an amazing time at the Lynyrd Skynyrd farewell tour last night, the sound crew had it dialed in !!

Great time at the game, facilities are getting dated, and we really need a place that can support major artists for their concerts.

Yes. We went to see Oprah Winfrey there. It's such a nice place

Seeing Barack Obama was wonderful! Security lines for entering the facility were quick and efficient. Our seats were fine though the Saddledome certainly has seat rows close together and narrow stairs. My only complaint has to do with the rudeness of patrons who disrespect everyone by being late to their seats!!!

It was cool when it was first built, but nowadays Calgary desperately needs a new stadium to keep up with Edmonton's new Rogers center.

Such a sweet place for sports and concerts. Stampede always is around this spot too

Typical stadium pricing, but lineups for bathrooms and the place is almost 35 years old

Outdated stadium that needs a Reno or a tear down. Concrete jungle inside. Best bit is the dome beers though so try the beer from the tap. Hopefully Calgary can upgrade to a newer one soon

Very poor audio quality for concerts, overpriced parking

Great venue, great sight lines, centrally located, lots of food choices, short walk to LRT. It might be a little old, but it's well maintained and it's design was ahead of it's time. Great facility.

Wished the Roughnecks won, but the entertainment value cannot be beat. The $5 pre-game deals are fantastic!!!

Carrie is in desperate need of a new hockey arena. A world-class city needs to show that they are world-class city. I think that s enough said.

A decent enough arena. It's good for sports and such but for concerts, not as much. The big Jumbotron gets in the way of watching the concerts, hence why close to no artists come to this city. The food can be on the pricy side, so highly recommend bringing your own snacks.

It was a great concert to bad it wasn't in a new saddledome.

Honestly don t wanna see this rink get took down and moved. But I also don t like increased prices on everything when we don t have a new rink. That s the whole point of keeping the old one. But then again if you can pay that much to watch Edmonton trash play in their arena you will love these unbeatable prices for tickets. #rebuilding since i was 5 I m 23 now come down and support your local flames.

Clean, good atmosphere, only thing I could complain about would be the workers like to stand in the way of your sight of a stage.
