Cafe DeLucchi Review

We enjoyed a great birthday dinner here before heading over to Beach Blanket Babylon

The mimosa carafe is totally worth the price - we got 6 full glasses out of it. The eggs benedict are pretty good, especially if you eat it outside!

Food was okay. Server was annoying constantly talking to us... then when it came to pay she made us wait for ages, just odd.

Perfetto! Even though service was with some minor issues, food here is amazing! Wonderful wine selection and perfectly cooked pastas, what else do you need? :)

The prices were a bit expensive for the small portions, but the food was delicious. The cups weren't properly cleaned, it was weird to see things floating in my cup of water.

Small restaurant in a nice location. The server seemed irritated and perhaps wasn't the most friendly. Food was average for the area, dish was slightly cold.

The Cafe is situated in the North Beach area which boasts tons of really good Italian eateries and coffee shops. The area like all of San Francisco, has tons of foot traffic so I decided to sit outside for prime people watching since it wasn't as chilly as the previous day. I really couldn't decide what I wanted to eat, and was eventually talked into the Cajun Etouffe Polenta. The polenta was excellent, rich and creamy and cheesy. The mimosa which used fresh juice and a good quality sparkling wine went perfectly with it. The andouille sausage gave things a nice spicy kick. The shrimp were nice and tender and not rubbery. You can tell the freshness of the seafood. Biting into one of the shrimp was like biting into the ocean itself.

Food was excellent. Service was a tad slow but well worth the wait. Enjoy your experience like we did by ordering a bottle of wine and let the evening unfold as it should.

We had an excellent breakfast. They were short a server and were really busy, but the one lady totally kept it together serving everyone promptly. I had the artichoke Benedict and it was superb, excellent flavor, very filling. My friendh had the Elvis, which I tried, and it was super good too. Fruit bowl was freshly cut, perfectly ripe and we regretted that we were too full to finish it. Cappuccino was great also. The other places in town had long lines, so we walked a few blocks here and were very pleased.

Caffe DeLucchi is located right on Columbus in North Beach. I came here and had the gnocchi with gorgonzola cream sauce, which was very tasty! This is a good restaurant to sit at and people watch on a sunny afternoon.

This place was good - but it's very closed and has been so for a while. Google has refused my edit that the place is closed, so after resubmitting w/ a photo for proof I'm also writing a review to let others know since I've been repeated asked to meet here based on Google's stating it's open.

The food was OK, but the portions were rather small. Service could be better as well. My friend was taking her last bite and they immediately took away our plates. The check was brought to us almost immediately afterwards (we did not ask for it). The waitress told us that there was no rush but it felt like they were trying to get us to leave ASAP.

We went to this restaurant spontaneously because Mama's wait was super long and we were starving! The best decision we made that day. Absolutely loved the chorizo breakfast pizza!! I've been craving it since. Side note I got it with the chorizo on the side because I don't eat meat but my bf does and we both loved it!

Always great breakfast/brunch when we are in San Francisco! Eggs Benedict is delicious and must have paired with a phenomenal bloody Mary!

We found this place while on our honeymoon and loved it so much we came back another night on our trip. The pasta is homemade and it is delicious! My husband and I in total tried 4 of the dishes and you truly can't go wrong with any of them! The prices are also reasonable and this area of town is adorable! If the weather is nice I highly recommend sitting outside - this is a cute part of town with a lot going on!

Worst waitresses ever!!!! Today we were there and there was a young waitress with brown hair and the biggest attitude I have ever encountered. She and the other waitress on duty were so incredibly rude we just left. Don't waste your time here unless you want to be treated like dirt.

This place is excellent! They have very unique and delicious polenta dishes for breakfast. Everything is very fresh and delicious. They have big windows so tables both inside and outside are very well lit.

DeLucchi shuttered then had a brief stint under a new owner as Captain Kona with a haiwaiin themed menu. Now the restaurant is closed again. Too bad, had a lot of good meals here and the pricing was reasonable for the neighborhood.

Great location in North Beach for people watching! Go on a weekend for brunch and sit outside with one of the best bloody mary's you'll ever have. It comes with a shrimp! It's one of the only places in the area you can order breakfast until 2pm any day of the week. If you like thin crispy crusted pizza, you'll love it here. I love the caprese sandwich.

My GF and I have been sitting here for 40 minutes after ordering and still haven't received our food. Figured I had time to write a review during my wait. The slowness is baffling as the two tables next to us who ordered AFTER us have received their food already. All we got was a BLT and an eggs benedict. I wish I could review the food but I can't because we don't have my food. Avoid this place.

The best pancakes and breakfast in the area. Reasonably priced. During the week it's slow easy to get a table. Weekends expect a line.

We stopped in for lunch and ordered a pair of paninnis with a small side salad. The paninnis were delicious. Just the right amount of spice, and the texture of the bread and the filling was spot on. Service was friendly.

We enjoyed the place so much we returned for dinner and had an equally enjoyable experience with the added surprise of cheap happy hour drinks. I had a $3 craft IPA pre-dinner beer.

Pizza good... that full fat mozzarella. The food is good and service is okay. Good inexpensive and tasty place for an Italian lunch.

I ve been here twice and both times have been great. The service is amazing and the food tops that. I recommend this place if your in town.

Quaint atmosphere, great pasta. Loved sitting outside.

Had a lovely meal outside on the sidewalk. The polenta with pulled pork and chorizo pizza were both delicious.

If you're a local and/or have dined in San Francisco, you should leave this place for the tourists. After waiting 40+ minutes for a pizza and having to hear the outrageous excuses, only to have a very disappointing pizza, I say there are plenty of other great places for pizza. Caffe Delucchi is not one of them. My husband's ravioli with a beef bolognese sauce was just plain mediocre. The whole experience was a huge let down. I didn't even bother to bring 3/4 of the leftover pizza home. That's how bad it was.

One of our favorite brunch spots in North Beach; especially if it's a sunny and warm day.

Love the food here and the staff is always friendly. They have a few beers on tap as well as a decent wine menu. There is outside seating looking down Columbus. Flatbread is delicious and I would recommend any of the pasta dishes

Looks better from the outside ..... And there is not much "Italy" in the DeLucchi.

Good food and service. We tried crab cake egg Benedict, breakfast pizza and blueberry pancakes- everything was great. Good place for couples and friends get together.

Been there at about 11am.
The service was very slow, 15+ minutes for pancakes although the waitress kept saying it will be ready any second.
The food - very very good ! Biggest pancakes I have seen and the taste is amazing.

Great place for seating outside in a sunny afternoon. Food and coffee were good but forgettable. We had the Italian scramble and the Florentine.

Had an enjoyable meal with a very tasty pizza with prosciutto and balsamic poached pear. Reasonable prices. Nice quiet atmosphere.

Really good alternative in the north beach district to some of the more popular places. The breakfast was better than expected after seeing the outside. The eggs were definitely our highlight and the pancakes were filling. The coffee is OK but they have free refills. Sitting outside is perfect on a nice day. Overall I was happy.

Great food and atmosphere, good for a brunch hang out with friends or for yourself. We ordered the breakfast pizza which are delicious and large for the price! Best thing is no wait, and most things on menu are very reasonably priced. Will go again!

The one time I have been here the food was very good and there wait was short. We sat outside and the environment was very interesting. Inside you have decorations that are atmospheric. The food was fresh and tasted very authentic. The next time your in the area eat here and you wont be disappointed.

There a ton of places to eat in North Beach, especially along the Columbus strip. I really enjoy Caffe DeLucchi for it's non-touristy feel and relaxed dining. Go for lunch and try their sandwiches or salads. They are fresh and a perfect proportion for anyone. Also, great people watching!

Not exactly the typical Italian breakfast offering, but a place worth a visit anyway, especially if you tried going to Mama's around the corner and you were scared off by the ridiculous queue for breakfast.

Focaccia was awesome. Generally enjoyed everything I've eaten there the couple of times I've been.

I stopped here for breakfast and while my initial experience with the staff was lackluster at best (slow, no desire to clean outdoor tables, unfriendly), the actual meal was pretty good. Once seated, service was quick and somewhat attentive. We weren't rushed despite having one of the highly-coveted outdoor tables. I recommend arriving before 10am.

On a recent visit to San Francisco, my husband and I were driving past the cafe and thought it looked quaint. We noted the address and made a special trip back at 3:00 pm for coffee. Even though there was a coffee bar set up with an expresso machine the waitress told us to "find another cafe" since they were a "full service cafe." The cafe was practically empty. I thought she was joking, but she smirked and laughed when I told her we had made a special trip back just because we thought it looked quaint. Horrible welcome to San Francisco. Horrible treatment usually catches up in the end.

The food was really good, visiting san Francisco, we were four, outside table at night. I was a little worry because it was empty comparing to others that were really crowded, but it surprised me!!! Fresh food and tasty. Fair portions.

Food is almost always very good. They seem to be busy from the moment they open to late at night, when they close. Sometimes, you have to wait a bit for a table. I took away a star because service is consistently lousy. The waitresses do not seem interested in serving you, checking up on you and asking how you are doing, or even at the most basic level checking your water, unless you flag them down. I guess because they get so much business, they don't give a care if you're not getting good service and never come back because there's ten other people ready and willing to take your vacancy.

Not too bad for what I thot was a very touristy spot.. restaurant was empty when we got there whilst others were busy... so expectations were low...

Had excellent eggs florentine here. A generous portion, with nice sides including orange slices. The service was very friendly, but became less attentive when it was time for me to pay and leave (to be fair, though, by that time it had gotten much busier).

Had a great, casual lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating. Quality food, well prepared and served.

YOU DO NOT ENTER. Painful. They took the command badly (missing a plate) and when they brought the dishes and told them they told us that the kitchen was already closed and they brought a small dish to give him of our dishes. And they started throwing us out before the 3-year-old girl finished her spaghetti dish.

Oh wow, food was just amazing, eaitres was friendly and courtious..All though the hostess was a douch.talk about stuck up.Funny thing was although she had a great ass,here pants had a great big booty stain as she walked around acting like she was doing every one a favor..lol!

I left my usual breakfast places in the Mission to try someplace I have not been. I was pleasantly surprised by the great service and no wait for a lovely window seat for brunch. The benedicts are great but portions in general are not ample, the coffee was good, and breakfast cocktails looked appealing. I would go back for breakfast or brunch.
