Specialized in Belgian beers but have a selection of 300+. Awesome for having a nice time with friends

Zucchini noodles (Zoodles) dish was fantastic. The Cuban sandwich was smaller than expected but had great smoked flavor.
Beer variety was outrageously good. Chairs could be more comfortable. Located on MKE Hop trolley route.

I've been to this restaurant twice and I've been amazed both times. They have an amazing list of different types of beers that is over 20 pages long! Each entree has a drink paring suggestion. And they are vegetarian friendly. I've had their mac n' cheese where their cheese sauce was made out of goat cheese and brie among other cheeses. They also had an entree called pesto squash noodles which was amazing. They cut up vegetables in the shape of curly noodles and cooked it with what I can only assume to be homemade pesto and topped with shredded Parmesan and so much more (mushrooms, walnuts, and other veggies). This isn't for everyone since it's basically entirely vegetables, but the taste is phenomenal. I hope to come here again soon for another amazing meal.

Delicious food and great service. Laughing Clown porter was perfect. The bitterballen was great and the tater tots were amazing. Harold's recommendations were spot on.

Fun, busy place in an excellent location. Beautiful interior and a lovely continuous open space with the outside in the summer. Food was enjoyable!

BEST IN MILWAUKEE ! Why eat here: The food is carefully crafted, locally sourced and just perfect for your taste buds. The staff is very professional and friendly. The coffee is just the best i think it is from colectivo. Lastly you can't beat the prices, if you have kids they will love the food. Try the waffles, try the sausage, try the corndogs and the latte. Benelux, hollander, cafe centraal, try them all.

We had a bachelorette party in the domes first week of Jan 2020 for my daughter. Very cozy, wait staff was great. However a 55 dollar cheese board for 8 came and was laughable! It looked like people had eaten half of it before it arrived. There was barely enough for 4 people . The 14 dollar cheese board at pizza man is beautiful and has a lot more on it.. The 55 dollar bloodies were also a joke . One carafe of bloody mix served 4 people. In small tumblers. We asked for another carafe of mix, not vodka, and we were told there might be a charge for it. We complained and were not charged.I have never written a bad review like this, but we spent a decent amt of money there. For 55 dollars don't be so cheap on the food.

Such a cool place! Dutch and Belgian inspired food. I got the tomato soup. It was hearty and had a very deep flavor to it- delicious! A great place to go for dinner if you stop in Milwaukee.

Diverse menu for varying tastes. Great beer selection (heck they have a whole book of beer, and the staff us quite knowledgeable), and the rooftop/ outdoor patio make it one of the premier spots on pleasant summer days.

Great food,beer and ambiance.stopped in while in Milwaukee to catch a show and I was totally happy with everything.I'm in the business so I'm rarely impressed.I will definitely go back

Great location but this place is overrated. We drove in from chicago and got hungry. Went in here based off the reviews. The outside patio area was nice with a great view of that part of the city. Server was nice. She just never introduced herself. All the plates, cups and utensils were so dirty. My coffee cup was given to me with someone's red lipstick all over the rim. I just don't understand how can you not see that as you're giving it to a customer. Food was bland. My steak was medium rare when I asked for medium well. The only thing I enjoyed was the beignet appetizer. Other than that, I will not be coming back.

Breakfast was quite good. The interior is well-designed and tables are very clean, and service is quick (at least on weekday mornings) and friendly.

The atmosphere is very inviting. Our server was nice and attentive, even though the restaurant was packed and she was very busy. I ordered a waffle and it was delicious! I greatly enjoyed my meal and I would definitely visit again.

I went here with my daughter and another friend who has a child. The host was super rude to us and did not make us feel welcomed. It was a freezing weather outside and she kept asking us to wait outside with kids while everyone else was allowed to wait inside. They have no human solidarity for families. Very dissapointing!

Waited two hours for undercooked food. Had no napkins/silverware at the table. Was told the kitchen was "slow" today. Overheard our server tell another table that it would take the bar 20 minutes to get themselves together to make a mixed drink. Never got a refill of water. Probably won't come back.

This is perhaps the perfect accumulation of Idol's restauranteering endeavors mashed up to his libation vending. All the best features of it's older siblings with almost none of their problems. Really shows the dedication to feeding the masses food fit for the few. Eat here.

Well it all started with a craving for French Toast. So, I did a search for "French toast in Milwaukee," and Cafe Benelux called my name. The service was exceptional and very personable. Bradley was our server/bartender, who by the way did an amazing job!

The food came out very quickly and tasted like the best French toast I have ever had! I was so upset when I finished the meal, not because it was bad, but because I was done eating!

This was my first experience at Cafe Benelux and it is now my favorite restaurant in Milwaukee!

Hip, trendy, right in the heart of the action, this place is a gold mine... and they serve voice nuggets daily. Enjoy.

The atmosphere is a great place to enjoy the company of a group, or meeting with a friend. It feels comfortable and trendy. The drinks menu is diverse, and they have a gluten free section of beer. They also have a separate gluten free menu for food items. I ordered the Sprocket burger, and it was truly delicious. I should have ordered two...

Great place for beer and drinks. Very good service once you can get a table . They're food isn't too bad either. Gets crowded so be prepared to wait.

Despite imediatly burning myself on my latte, I didn't file a McDonald's style lawsuit because it was my fault and also this place is amazing. Pretzel eggs Benedict was so good, fries amazing, and an entire gluten free menu. The quick attentive service makes this the perfect place to fill up and burn an hour of parking!

Unfortunately we did not get to dine here. I explicitly requested patio seating, especially as their social distancing practices were very lacking. I'm not familiar with Milwaukee's current regulations, if any, but despite their sign encouraging 6ft distancing the waiting area was packed, almost shoulder-to-shoulder, and while some tables were left vacant, along the wall patrons were seated back-to-back, 1-2 feet apart. Servers did have masks, at least. After waiting 45 minutes for our patio seat, we were led inside to one of the tables where we'd be 1-2 feet from others. Upon informing them I requested a patio seat, they said I'd have to start back at the bottom of the wait list, now 1 hour long. Unacceptable safety practices and unacceptable service.

It doesn't matter whether I go to Cafe Benelux, Cafe Hollander, or any of the other restaurants owed by this group, my burger is always overcooked. Every. Single.Time. It comes out well done. I always have to send it back. Every single time. Grey burgers are not delicious.

A group of 7 is us ate here this past Friday night (8/16) I had guests in from Romania. They wanted to see some sights downtown, so after we walked around a bit we just walked over and got seated right away. There were plenty of inside tables open at 8:00pm The rooftop was too long of a wait for us( 45 min so not horrible) but too long for us as my guests were leaving that night after dinner so we opted to eat outside where they have a few tables curbside. The food was very good - most said it was delicious! And brought out pretty quickly for our party size. The major complaint I have was with our waiter. I can't remember his name- maybe Adam? My guests had some questions about the menu.They speak very fluent English , but needed help with a few things. Our waiter seemed put off to answer their questions almost annoyed at times and condescending. The other frustrating thing was that he never refilled our drinks (4 waters , 1 coke and 2 ice teas) even after we asked multiple times for refills. I myself asked at least 2 times. I would have understood this more if it had been super busy but like I mentioned- it was not packed at all! We stayed about an 1 1/2 hours and also got a dessert. So- only 1 drink each for that long of a time. Also, someone in my party ordered the Impossible burger. Our waiter informed us that Burger King just bought the rights to it and he could not order it? Really?? Why is it still on the menu? So he had to choose something else which he ended up not liking. Everyone else seemed pretty satisfied with their food. I myself got the 6 spice salmon which I thought was good. Decent place but servers need to step it up! Maybe not the best place to take out of Towners/ foreigners.

Rude bartender. Nobody watching the second tv but refused to turn the channel to another football game. Small portions for the price but good tasting. I can easily find a better atmosphere with good food and better prices than here

Abbey beer and European cuisines ... even if slightly mitigated by American habits

So delicious! Had the beignets, cinnamon streusel french toast, and pretzel roll benedict. Everything was made perfectly and I cannot wait to go back to try more delicious options.

Vast selection of beer, interior is fantastic. Shrimp linguini went perfectly with the Dogfish Head.

I've only been to Milwaukee twice and both times I have come to Cafe Benelux! I love the blue cheese tater tots and the many great varieties of Bloody Marys. Who knew Blood Marys could come with such creative pickled things--blocks of cheese, pickled brussel sprouts? It also comes with a small glass of beer as a chaser! It all sounds a bit weird, but so much fun. It almost makes me wish I lived in Milwaukee.

Good lunch spot if you work or live around 3rd ward

The cinnamon French toast w/the Orange syrup & honey was gud but they didn't cook it as crisp as I asked for. Also got 2 eggs fried hard with Havarti cheese they weren't as hard as I liked but overall the taste of everything was gud.

Food at atmosphere was great! Weather was poor on the day we visited, but inside was very nice despite the weather. They offer various sauces to use with your food or fries, but we were not notified that there was an upcharge for these. Tasted great, but typically free...my only minor complaint.

The style is old, the food is excellent, although it is very busy they have enough staff and spaces to be located in less than 20 minutes and the price is fair, the service is very good

Burgers were pretty good.. fries and soup were a little cold. Waitress was kind but when we brought that up to her she didn't offer to get us hot food. The mac and cheese was terrible, can't believe they charge 15 dollars for cold macaroni and barely any cheese. I wouldn't return unfortunately.

Good scene and atmosphere sharing a feel for the third ward. A lot of outdoor seating with heaters to keep you warm during the cooler months. Food and service on point.

Went for mothers day that included one vegan, one pescaterian, and 2 regular eaters and we all had a good number of choices. The food was really good and the kitchen accommodating. Definitely coming back

I am not big on doing reviews and at the risk of sounding like a "Karen" I will say this. Atmosphere was nice, our server, whom we tipped well, was really great. The drinks were tasty if not over priced. However the food was not so tasty. The mussels
were cooked properly but had no real flavor. My burger was more grease than anything, and the bun just became mush. My wife thought the meatloaf tasted like ground up Salisbury steak wrapped in bacon and I thought the potatoes came out of a pre-made box or a bag. The fries were the only thing I really enjoyed and finished...and I generally do not like fries. Might go back eventually but will likely try a few other establishments first. We asked for a Togo box but forgot our food there no real loss.

Wonderful experience! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks and offered great suggestions. The food was amazing and arrived quickly despite it being a busy weekend night and we were a large group of 8.

Loved the rooftop patio! They had an extensive beer list including beers you can't normally find! We had the mussels and a cheese plate to eat and both were fantastic. The cheese plate was very very generous. It's also in the third ward which is a super cute area if you've never been!

Awesome awesome experience!! Food was incredible and their staff was even better!! Quiet, clean and casual! Seating available on the upstairs patio and they open up the "garage doors" downstairs which allowed for a nice breeze. Bartender was very friendly and although they no longer carried the mule I wanted he was able to create a similar mule that I really enjoyed! Totally recommend this place!

This was my first time coming in I was greeted by the bartender Thomas with a huge smile he was super sweet and attentive even though he was busy and answered all of the very many questions I had I will 100% be back just because of the phenomenal service I received from him. If you re thinking about stopping in for a drink I hope you re lucky enough to have him as your bartender

If there was anything I would consider moving to Milwaukee for, other than it not being Illinois, it would be this restaurant/bar.

The pull apart bread was awesome.... however it took 1 hr to get it! The server had our one table then the whole other side of the rooftop. Not sure how that worked... but I feel like they didn t want to be bothered with us. The server was basically nonexistent until we asked for our check. Not a good VIBE.
