Cute lil place with a wide variety of Sundaes. They have really good dining menu. Will definitely visit again to try out their dining options.

I have been going to Cabots for 50 years! I LOVE the fact that it is still a single family-owned business, with great food and ice cream, as well as intelligent, engaged, friendly staff who actually work hard!! The owners run a tight ship, and are there on the front lines with their employees. Cabots is well run and efficient. I also LOVE the fact that it looks just as it did all those years ago: if you want new and shiny, with contemporary music blasting, you need to go somewhere else, as there are plenty of those other places around. Cabots exudes what now seem to be "old fashioned" values, like hard work, respect, great food and ice cream at very reasonable prices, and PAYMENT IN CASH (Heaven forbid!! Don't people realize that this is part of the reason why their prices are lower than most???). Get off your devices and step back in time when life was the genuine thing!!! (Be prepared to wait for a seat at peak hours, especially Fridays and Saturdays; also, keep in mind that this is a family restaurant, and there will be noise at those times!)

The ice cream is great, but I wouldn't come here again for a sit down meal. I thought the breakfast would be fresh, but all of our food was definitely microwaved.. I'd 100% come again for the frappes and fries. But the breakfast special was small and... sad.

Cute, quaint, bring cash. This old school ice cream parlor serves everything from breakfast to chocolate frappes. You can go for lunch with a sweet ending or, just skip to the end. Their ice cream menu is pretty extensive..offering classic banana split sundaes to new twists on old favorites. Just being cash...no plastic here

Although their food and ice cream is not all that special, we still enjoy popping in occasionally for dinner and/or ice cream because their hot fudge is delicious. You might want to buy a pint to take home with you!

I've been coming to Cabots since the late 70's. Wherever you are coming from it is worth the drive. The menu is huge, a smorgasbord of every ice cream concoction you can think of. Only had food a few times here and what made the hamburger great was eating it at the ole fashion counter.

Cash-only, but all the foods here harken back to a simpler time. Their ice cream and frozen yogurts are to die for, and are a huge attraction for the weekend crowd.

If you end up going make sure you bring cash!! It's cash only!

Great menu and staff! Tons to choose from for breakfast. Off by 1 star just because sometimes the food can be a little over-done (ordered eggs benedict that had fully cooked yolks) but I would definitely go again and recommend to a friend.

Cabot's has the largest selection of dairy-free ice cream I have ever seen, as well as many different kinds of regular ice cream and other desserts. They also have a considerable selection of savory food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything is delicious, and the staff are always attentive and friendly.
Cabot's does not take credit or debit cards, but they have an ATM in the lobby if you forget to bring cash. Give it a try, it's a favorite with the locals!

this place is a very cool throwback. the service is warm, accurate, prompt and helpful and the menu offers great old fashioned American comfort food...and then...there's the killer dessert/ice cream list. the prices are retro as well. it's busy and a real treat.

This place is always busy, best time to go is during off times to avoid having to wait too long for a table. They serve breakfast food as well besides ice cream. They also sell icecream cakes too. Remember to bring cash as this is still a cash only spot!

Such a fun place to go visit! Large menu with great prices for what your given. The ice cream is a good hard ice cream that isn't like JP Licks that melts in two seconds.

Cabots is always a good place for ice cream. They are local and always have a great atmosphere to be in. Especially happy with the way service is during these times of wonder. They have outdoor seating under a tent which is nice. They offer hand sanitizer as well. Food was served in a timely manner and even came out hot (although due to the pandemic, they are using paper and plastic). Always very pleased with my visit.

Great spot to enjoy a milk shake. The place has a 1950s feel to it. Think Chevy Malibus, drive in movie theaters, roller derbies and Jerry curls. A nostalgic aura that most people including myself don't remember.... But wish we did!

So happy to have a traditional ice cream parlor/restaurant in my area. It feels like the classic Boston neighborhood establishment that is a go-to place when you want to enjoy yourself with a friend or family. CA place where you can say that "a bit of retro is a good thing".

Went there for the 1st time yesterday, their 50th anniversary. Old time restaurant and ice cream establishment - think Friendly's but much better! Great food. I got the Texan Burger, a 9oz patty with chili and cheddar cheese on Texan toast with Fries and it was delicious! The rest of the family got ice cream and thoroughly enjoyed it! Great low prices and LOTS of food for the price. Great service too. Will definitely go back!

Terrific sit down or take away experience. Cash only. The combinations are seemingly endless and the ice cream is delicious. Food on the menu as well. Ambiance is appropriate for a diner--similar to a Friendlys. Either the fudge topping or marshmallow gives a real solid finish to your sundae. They have milk-free yogurt as well.

Great atmosphere and ice cream. Bathroom location is a nightmare...up two flights of steps. Not good for wheelchairs!

Stopped by for take-out service due to covid restrictions. Small fudge sundae with Heath Bar IC and an Orange Dream Parfait. Sundae described as bellisima. Parfait was dreamy - I think they have the absolute best coffee IC around...teamed with orange sherbet, vanilla IC, and syrup, perfect! I look forward to another one on Fathers'Day.

Always a special treat to eat at Cabot's, friendly staff, full size menu offering all day breakfast and yummy ice cream confections! A favorite of our family for years!

Have been going for over 30 years! Best ice cream around & BEST BEST BEST frozen yogurt hands down This is true Americana also, hope it stays in business FOREVER!!! The owning family is SOOO NICE, they work there too!! Good people.

This place has great food and ice cream. Easy place to get to and always ample street parking. The only downside is that they are cash only but there is an ATM on-site so its not to bad.

This old fashion ice cream parlor has a Happy days dinner feel to it. The ice cream comes in pretty big portions with an extensive amount of topping options. I have yet to try any of the food options but the shakes and the ice cream have been great. Owsome options for family night and with 70 flavors to choose from you can t really go wrong.

I love this place. I head there fairly regularly for my cheat day ice cream extravaganza. The only downside is the apparently inconsistent training that they give their employees. There's one guy in particular (Asian guy, carefully done hair, scraggly little mustache) who consistently makes sundaes significantly smaller than other employees -- and sometimes he gets them plain old wrong. There are several sundae artists at Cabot's, including Mr. Prestejohn himself (it is a good day when I get lucky enough to get a Prestejohn original...that man has a gift), but that one employee (who unfortunately seems to be stationed at the to go counter) needs some re-training. I've passed on Cabot's when I see him working the counter. It's a shame. The ice cream is great but not getting what you were hoping for ruins the experience. Buyer beware!

EDIT: I went back to Cabot's this weekend. Different waiter, same story. The waiter seemed completely unfamiliar with the sundae I ordered (even though I showed it to him on the menu as I ordered it). He handled the situation well (by asking Mrs. Prestejohn for help). Mrs. Prestejohn corrected the situation and sent me home with a beautiful sundae. It was spectacular, as usual. Unfortunately (and also as usual), I had to deal with poorly trained waitstaff to get what I ordered.

I'm considering downgrading my score to 4 stars because of the service, despite my undying love for their ice cream.

To the Prestejohns: Your place is the best. I look forward to every trip. But please train your staff before you send them out on the floor. Having to arm wrestle with an incompetent server *over dessert* kind of ruins the experience.

To everyone else: Enjoy your trip to Cabot's...Just keep an eye on your ice cream order if you ask for anything beyond the basics.

Have not been there is 50 years and it was just as good as my memories going with my nanny when I was a child! How fantastic to taste that very special hot fudge again! Thank you Cabots!

A great all around ice cream store with touches of nostalgia. Been going there since I was a kid.

I was rather intrigued by this place when I walked in, and just from the Burger I ordered I can tell that with the proper people investing in this place and the appropriate to the attitude of the restaurant people set to be hired I can definitely see this place Challenging Big Guys like Friendly's and do nothing short of Completely blowing them and other Restaurants like them clean out of the Water

Service was nice, took quite a while for the food to come out but in their defense it did start to get busy after we had ordered, food was not hot, just warm... But it's a nice place if you haven't been before

A delightful blast from the past with excellent customer service and food. Cash only looses them a star thoug, as I have often skipped going because of that.

Clean, staff friendly, child friendly. Always parking available. 'Cash only' is fine with atm on property.
