Lovely country style inn. Well appointed rooms with excellent heating system for the December winds.
The history of the place and its owners (Lord Godfrey and Lady Claire McDonald) is displayed lovingly through photographs and art hanging through out the lodge.
I got a sea view room, the size was great, it had a huge bathroom and an entrance room with three closets... more than enough space to be really comfortable. I would have preferred if the room was upstairs... I didn t feel comfortable enough to leave the curtains up, but if I was on the second floor that would not have been an issue. Sunrise with a sea view is not something I am tired of seeing.
The renovation was excellent and there were plenty of convenient power plugs for my electronics through the room.

The mattress was uncomfortable, the bed box showed a lot of wear and tear, and the bathroom ceiling was a patchwork of patches.

Lovely place - we stopped by cos I m such a fan of the late Lee Alexander McQueen who used to stay here when he was in Skye. We didn t have a reservation but they welcomed us to lunch - we could have sat anywhere but we chose the bar. Really tasty food, so welcoming - thank-you!

Went for lunch again. This was the second time. The first time we wanted everything on the menu. This time, it was just as good. The menu is great - local and regional themed dishes, with proper portions that taste great. What more could you want. Service is good, and the prices are very reasonable indeed. Recommended.

After arriving on the ferry from Mallaig, we were looking for a quick lunch. We ordered the ham and cheese sandwich and 2 large glasses of rose wine. The sandwiches consisted of simple bread triangles containing a thin slice of parma ham and cheese. The wine which was supposed to be 175ml seemed more like 125ml. In all, it cost 40 which although the food and service was good, was way over priced.

Always an excellent experience and the hotel has handled the social distancing and sanitation due to Covid 19 very well.
We both felt safe and were able to enjoy the excellent food and professional staff as we always do.
We have visited many times and cannot recommend it highly enough.
True Scottish hospitality in a beautiful part of the Country.
Well done Isabella and her team

Fantastic! Stayed here for a romantic weekend to celebrate our 40th birthday, and we weren't disappointed. The room was in the sperate annex, was well appointed and was very spacious. The main hotel was very homely and relaxing, whilst having a luxurious feel. Nothing was too much trouble, and the food was absolutely fabulous. Can't wait to go back.

There is not much to say, I would give +5 stars if that would be possible : 5 star location, 5 star staff and a very good afternoon tea! The only downside were the scones which unfortunately were to dry and the dough was too dense.

Incredibly overpriced, run down facility and furnishings.

In my opinion they are taking advantage of a unique property without keeping it up to a five star standard.

By example they want you to take a drink in the drawing room prior to dinner Very nice idea except glaring spotlights from outside completely ruin the mood.

Couch in reception area has fabric shines as it s so old.

Third visit and will be the last Without significant investment by owners.

The hotel recommended by friends, based on the standard of skye island, which is very expensive "B&B", the hotel is a beautiful bungalow, the surrounding scenery is very beautiful, the room is very spacious. Michelin chef's restaurant, I don't feel good about western food, but every dish is beautiful. We chose the five course for 80 pounds per person.

We came here for dinner and it was quite magical arriving at dusk as the sun was slowly setting. The grounds are lovely to walk around and every single staff we encountered was nothing but genuine and pleasant and helpful. The meal was fantastic and when the staff learned that we were on our way to Inverness that night (a 3 hour drive), they offered to pack up our petits four and coffees to go. Would love to come and stay next time we visit!

How can I describe Kinloch lodge in one word? Perfection.
Travelling from across the Ocean to the Isle of Skye in February is risky in its own right. Also risky is putting the responsibility on Kinloch to ensure that we were well looked after for our wedding on the island and
honeymoon .

Kinloch Lodge delivered. From moment we arrived we were made to feel like the most important guests they have ever had. What ever we needed, whenever we needed it there was staff available and happy to oblige.

The location and facilities:
Nestled into the hill side on the banks of Loch Houm we enjoyed walking trails and sea side exploring of tidal pools at all hours. We love nature from the little clams to the amazing birds and Kinloch met the mark. We had the privilege to stay in two rooms. The first at the top of the tower in the "new" building , a modern suite with a fabulous rain shower and a claw foot bathtub that lets you look at the Moon and the Loch at the same time. The second one we stayed in was equally as comfortable, equally as modern,
with a small French balcony and once more a fabulous modern bathroom with luxurious heated floors.

The food and drink:

The Staff:
All of the staff we engaged with were top shelf and eager to ensure our visit and post wedding needs were met with nothing left fogetten. From
champagne on ice at just the right time, to whipping up a plate of posh sandwiches served in the lounge with just the right Talisker to match. All served in front of the roaring lounge fire. We feel the need to personally thank Jamie the sommelier, jack of all trades and overall ambassador for the lodge. His
knowledge of food, drink, and MacDonald family history is simply amazing and added to our special experience. Customer experience clearly means something to him and we predict, with his "cracking" personality, we will see him on a TV show one-day.
Isabella, you are warm and loving, sweet and sincere. The timeless legacy of Kinloch Lodge rests well in your capable hands. You made us feel so much at home we left feeling like family.

Kind regards.

My now wife and I travelled from Australia to get married on the Isle of Skye. During our time of Skye we stayed at Kinloch Lodge. Without exaggeration I can say that I could not have picked a better place to stay for such an occasion. The food was of the highest calibre, the staff were beyond accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly - in addition to the breath-taking scenery and gorgeous rooms (crackling fires present in the shared areas of the lodge). I can t recommend Kinloch Lodge highly enough and I will be raving about it to everyone I know when I get back home. We are already planning to come back for our ten year anniversary- see you then Kinloch & Staff!

This is without a doubt the best culinary experience we've ever had. Wonderful flavours from carefully selected local produce combined with great wines. We recommend the wine flight experience. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and you benefit from their love for what they do. The accommodation was outstanding and offered you everything you needed and more. This all combined in a stunning setting on the Isle of Skye makes for an unforgettable break away. We can't give a strong enough recommendation. Thank you to everyone at Kinloch Lodge for a remarkable achievement.

Had dinner here for our wedding anniversary and tried their tasting menu. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had group of 6 thus they were able to give us the private room and staff service was excellent.

I have to say this is one of the best meal I had. The food is cooked perfectly and sauce perfectly complimented each other. In fact friend travelling with us just had a Michelin 3 star restaurant in the same week and they honestly said this meal was better. It was so good that I tried to change our trip schedule to come back but they were fully booked.

Thank you kinloch for making it a memorable anniversary dinner.

Had a really nice time there. The 7-dishes menu was very well executed, very creative (not that common), service was super friendly and not too serious, and wine selection perfect also.
A treat of course, but totally worth it.

Wonderful setting for an outstanding dinner. Arrive early to enjoy the views and a pre dinner drink. Staff was excellent and attentive. At dinner staff was well informed on each course. Chef Tully's vision was evident in each course. Fresh, local Scottish ingredients. After dinner coffee and petits fours were a wonderful end. I wouldn't recommend for young children based on setting.

Really great hotel by the lake. Good rooms, and great bathroom. It has a really good restaurant by Michelin awarded Marcello Tully. Amazing the coconut-lime fish. Very good deer.
I didn t find the breakfast good because I like sweet:there was nothing at all. I only had toasts. No buffet. What I didn t find comfortable where the salons, as the bar: very small and very close one to each other

Of the places we stayed in Skye, Kinloch had probably the largest traditional Scottish 'tweeness' feel about it. Probably to be expected for a house that's been in generation's of a family.

Nothing particularly wrong with that, but to us was starting to feel a bit tired.

Surrounding scenery is lovely and an enjoyable walk.

The upscale restaurant is certainly that. Dishes are hearty and flavourable. Meaty and fishy. The dining room provides good views too.

Breakfast is good and sizeable. After that you'll enjoy your walk.

My now wife and I traveled to Skye to get married and we stayed at Kinloch Lodge. We can truly say it was one of the best places we have ever stayed in: picturesque setting, really friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, great rooms with a genuinely quirky feel and amazing food from Marcello in the restaurant (which we still believe merits a Michelin star or two!). Lots of lovely little touches too such as complimentary champagne and welcoming notes from Isabella. We felt like we were at home and we will definitely be back to celebrate our anniversary , thank you all for an unforgettable stay!

Kinloch Lodge is only a 20-minute drive from Skye Bridge, situated on the edge of Loch Na Dal and surrounded by the most picturesque landscapes. We were staying in a spacious double room with panoramic views over the scenic loch - it was stunning.

On the first night, we enjoyed a 5 course dinner in the main dining room, which provided a romantic atmosphere, with candlelit tables and charming decor. The chef's table on the second evening (booked in advance) was more minimalistic, but this wasn't an issue for us, as the true magic was right in front of us! Getting to watch the masters at work and plating such perfect dishes to such a high standard, helped to create an extra special and immersive experience.

Included in part of our package was a delicious, award-winning breakfast on both mornings, a Prosecco afternoon tea, and cookery class with Michelin starred chef, Marcello Tully. During the cookery class, we learned how to make Kinloch Lodge's famous homemade scones and after having already tasted them as part of our afternoon tea, we were super excited to learn how to make them for ourselves and get to take the recipe home!

If you're looking for an escape to explore the island or cosy up by the roaring fire all weekend - this is it! The Isle of Skye is a beautiful part of the world and this was the perfect staycation.
