Cabot's is the best place for ice cream in the entire state of MA, possibly best in all New England!! Love love love this place!

This is a great place with interesting food. Very often I come here at lunchtime, and also often visit with my husband in the evening. The service is always at a high level, the food is always fresh and tasty.

Such a cute diner! Really nice and attentive staff. Really good home fries and onion petals. My friend got a black & white milkshake that looked amazing.

Facilities: Elliptical bar where sitting on American stools from the 60s will serve your order, or you can settle at the various tables around or on the top floor.

It is usually a place, always full of public, so it is likely that you have a turn to wait.

Ice cream parlor very varied and very much to American taste, with superb smoothies of many flavors.

Cafeteria with fast food and its famous tortillas with cream, fruit, or whatever you want and maple syrup or any other. Everything is hypercaloric.

Waiter service: Normal, a bit overwhelmed
Parking: Very scarce, rear area.

Remember, that they DO NOT ACCEPT CARDS, something unusual in the USA, is unfortunate.

Price: Something EXPENSIVE and only cash payment, it is very poor.

GLOBAL RATING: Good, I give 3 stars, the worst having to PAY CASH and waiting to get a place.

Go back in time to this old-timey malt shop. Greasy food & sweet treats. Newton institution.

Extremely slow counter service. Very disorganized and under staffed.

Absolute classic in Newton. Stay for the high quality diner food, or just get one of their unbelievable ice cream concoctions.

The breakfast items here good. The potatoes here are more like French fries which are good, but not my favorite for a breakfast side. And the ice cream here is absolutely delicious! But be wary if you come here on a Fri/Sat evening as it is very busy which causes the service to suffer and would totally avoid if you have more than 5 in your party during peak times.

And be sure to bring cash! They have an ATM inside, but it is better not to be caught off guard.

I make the trek out to Cabot's for their fudge. Nothing can beat their generous portions of ice cream on their fresh waffles topped with their fudge!

I love this place! It's kinda like you remember Friendly's to be (not the way it currently is...) but better. The ice cream is amazing, made on site. The next time you want an ice cream cake, forget the boxed ones at the supermarket, get one at this gem of a place! A++++

Expect to wait a bit on weekends but you'll be glad you did. Very good food and nice variety from light to more substantial.

Make sure you have cash, they don't take plastic. There's an ATM in the lobby if you forget.

Only minor issue is that you can't be seated for afternoon ice cream visits. Tables and counter are only for " food "

My grandmother used to bring me here as a child. I still love their peppermint stick ice cream.

The ice cream is mediocre and the service is worse.

We were seated at a four top close to the bar. There was only 18 inches between my seat and the bar, so I got bumped whenever anybody walked past.

I ordered a sundae with butter pecan and coffee ice creams. The butter pecan ice cream had plenty of pecans in it, but the texture was airy and bland instead of thick and chewy. There was also no savory butter flavor. After eating most of the whipped cream and butter pecan, I discovered that instead of coffee ice cream, they'd given me chocolate ice cream. It was... Chocolatey I guess? I usually don't eat chocolate ice cream unless it has spice or something mixed into it.

My daughter loves the grilled cheese and the tuna fish sandwiches. The ice cream is the best

I have been going to Cabot's for years. Food is always good, simplicity at its finest. Ice cream is outstanding, absolute perfection. Staff is great and provide wonderful service.

Cabot s is the best in the business for diner eats with a family-friendly atmosphere! I was pleasantly surprised to find Weight Watchers compatible menu items but the extensive ice cream menu is very tempting! If you are looking to indulge, this is the place to go. I ve been here many times with family and the service is always quick and friendly, top notch, even when it s busy. Highly recommend this local hotspot.

Just as wonderful as I had hoped! Kept things simple and ordered Belgian waffle with bananas and whipped cream it was so perfect more perfect than I could make for myself my husband and father also enjoyed their meals a burger with mushroom & swiss and also the Franks & beans plate with brown bread we all enjoyed it very much and the ice cream menu is something else! Service was great thank you

Food was cold and awful. Service was a pimple faced high school kid who didn't know the menu and got the order wrong. Cash only? Welcome to the 21st century. Credit cards are everywhere. Do yourself a favor don't patronize this place.

Awesome food, great staff. 100% recommendable, really good for having breakfast or for anytime you crave something sweet.

Whether you only want to eat ice cream or just dinner: both looks good and still tastes good. The waiters are very friendly, also suitable for children.

Kids love the Belgium waffles and ice cream. One of the best omelets among breakfast places.

The menu is misleading. I ordered the 'Gourmet Waffle Cone' with my ice cream thinking it was homemade. It's actually the 'Joy' brand waffle cone that is sold at supermarkets. The Joy wrapper was on the cone that was brought to our table. I was disappointed because that is definitely not 'gourmet'.
On the positive side, the sundaes are huge. Great for sharing.

Cabot's is a Newton institution, now with COVERED OUTDOOR EATING SPACE in the back parking lot. Their menu is wildly eclectic, from ice cream heaped with homemade chocolate and peanut butter hot sauce, to keto paleo clean eating omelets.

Great breakfast and great prices! I bet the ice cream is awesome too. Haven't tried it yet but definitely will soon.

Cabot's is a Newton institution. The ice cream is local and excellent quality. The rest of the menu is diner type stuff, we'll made, with breakfast available all day. The store parking lot is small, but there's plenty of parking nearby on both sides of Washington Street.

Standard ice cream shoppe/diner feel. Nothing too special about the place but it still has very good ice cream!

Crowded. Basically it's a place to pretend your being nostalgic. They seem to be aware that they are always busy and yet do not have the amount of staff needed to so much as clean a table before seating the next family. You want nostalgia. Go to Cracker Barrell.

A must have if you fly into Logan one of your first stops should be at Cabots. Nothing helps a layover like their ice cream, friendly staff and endless cups of coffee.

I am not a big fan of sweets, so I don't get to enjoy the ice cream as much as everyone else. Which is a total shame, but lucky their food options are able to hold me over. One of my go to brunch places in the area.

I've been coming here since I was a young kid. I don't live nearby anymore, so whenever I'm in the area, I love taking my kids. As always, ice cream is delicious and the staff are very friendly and helpful!

Retro-style ice cream parlor. Fun and lively atmosphere. Lots of ice cream flavors to choose from. Hot fudge sundae is too runny for my taste. Strawberry ice cream is passable, just not earth shattering. The place is always packed. Fortunately, the turnover is high. So, no long waits.
