I had a brilliant time its a lovely venue and was well looked after by the staff
Lovely old venue with fabulous features in the theatre, however, the place was boiling tonight as they had the hearing on full which was unbearable. Also, toilets are horrendous there is no way near sufficient and causes huge queues and difficulties in getting around due to walkways being blocked.
Lovely venue with really nice staff. Small dressing rooms but with great period features
Top class venue saw The Kenny Wayne Shepherd band here tonight. Awesome show.No matter where you sit you're right on top of the show.Loved it
A truly beautiful theatre. Just seen Elkie Brooks there. Superb sound. A must visit place.
A lovely building. Old fashioned and cosy. Not a lot of leg room, but seats are fairly comfortable.
Lovely little theatre, nice venue, always seems to be well run. Watched many diverse shows
Went to see Brian blessed here and as well and Mr Blessed being an amazing guy and putting on an awesome show, the venue itself is wonderful!
Fabulous, compact, traditional theatre that hosts some surprisingly top notch comedians.
I m a sucker for historic buildings and especially ones that have a duel purpose (in this one being opera/ musicals). I have to my shame only ever frequented this building to watch the Derby G&S society (something inbuilt by my father for the last 39 years).
The building is glorious, it stands like a beacon for the town all tall and shiny. It s never succumbed to modernising or poor choices, instead remains as it was all those years a go, just a brilliant opera house.
It s like an old football ground in that some seats are better than others, you ll need to be guided by the online booking system or call ahead to avoid being placed too high up or have your vision blocked by a pillar or two.
Seats tend to be tightly packed together, more a nod to how people used to be (weight wise) over making money! But its a true experience to behold in a beautiful town. My only gripe is that it can become hot whilst watching the shows so dress accordingly and you ll enjoy as much as I do.
The town has plenty of good eateries, so I d recommend that you arrive early and enjoy the historic town and treat yourself to dinner before the show.
If this was rebuilt today it simply wouldn t be allowed to offer this one off experience, take my advice and get yourself booked into a show today! Highly recommend.
Love this beautiful theater, always plenty to see and getting tickets is so easy.
Full up could not get in. You have to book well in advance.
Great gig by the Levellers, never seen them before .
Classic and ornate Victorian opera house with good atmosphere.
Must return here! We only saw the outside n entrance hall, stunning place, shame we never had time for a show
Lovely atmosphere. Very friendly volunteer staff and on this occasion The Pasadena a Roof Orchestra who were brilliant.
A beautiful theatre a real gem, with a varied quality billing.
Lovely traditional venue. Love to go to the ballet every year and it feels very intimate. And opera glasses to hire too!!
Gorgeous venue for shows. Some seats in upper circle didn't look like there was much leg room but we had plenty on C row. Beautifully retained history.
Booked another concert for later on in the year. Lovely theatre.
Amazing Building. Lovely helpful staff. Fun family pantomime Cinderella. James Holmes being the STAR of the show. Hillarious
Intimate venue, very efficient staff , soft seating not plastic so very comfortable. Parking close by and a pub just across the road to have a drink and something to eat before going to the show. Had an amazing time.
Beautiful theatre in Buxton, huge variety of shows, plays, dance, comedy etc. Very welcoming
Very helpful staff, intimate audience experience in a beautiful setting.
Always enjoy trips the the Buxton Opera House. Varied choice of things to see from classical, to contempary music as well as a venue on the main comedy circuit.
Buxton is a very nice place. Attended concert in the octagon. Peculiar place but for live orchestra (classical) which do not require sound system, it is a great place. Use of sound system leads to echo
Brilliant night amazing location...worth the visit x
Fabulous experience, full house audience of 902 , brilliant concert by The Illegal Eagles, attentive staff, not overcharged for interval refreshments, Absolutely flippin delighted!!!
Had a fab time in the Opera House the show was exellent and the staff very friendly.
An amazing venue...looking forward to performing our show there.
Lovely place but the bar is far too small and range of drinks very limited
Lovely Victorian venue, cramped by modern standards but with friendly staff and a full and varied programme
If you think the outside looks impressive, the inside will take your breath away, great location and always something on to suit all tastes
Lovely theatre, good variety of acts on throughout the year. Very friendly staff.
Lovely theatre and we always enjoy the performances they have on
Brilliant and very helpful staff. Booster cushions available for children. Beautiful decoration and restoration
nice old place, seating a bit tight and some views restricted that don't appear on seating map, but inside is a wonderful well presented theater
Small but extravagant restored opera house in a small peak district town. It is astonishing a niche has been created for world class opera and dance as well as top contemporary music. Even if you don't like the show of the night it's worth it for the building!
Excellent service and very friendly and helpful staff , loved it great performance.
Beautiful old theatre, loads of charm and character. Been a lot of times and always enjoy it here
Loved It Buxton You lad, best experience of my life. I can die a happy man now :')
Been here a few times now, Lovely little theatre in a gorgeous location.
Saw Brendon Cole there. Great show but lovely intimate venue. How blessed we are.
Great venue small but friendly staff makes for an ideal intimate gig
Stunning building and interior, great play (Awful Aunty), children loved it.
Always enjoyable performances. Beautiful building and well maintained. Seats rather cramped, especially in the dress circle.
Lovely theatre ( inside and out) with original features. (So the seats are quite small and tightly packed,) great place to see a show. Drinks reasonably priced.
Good parking an easy booking and access to the stalls
Beautiful building, great venue. Very helpful staff
Good panto every year. Facilities could do with updating
Very nice place no matter what show is on worth a visit just to see the building
Fabulous building in its' own right. Good acoustics.
Brilliant....have been before. The building and the decor are fantastic. Went to see Bowie Experience. Wow!!!
I love going to Buxton Opera house for gigs, the seating arrangement means you always get a good view regardless of the size of the person in front. Acoustics are good and the interior is well looked after. A special mention is deserved for the staff. Usually they are more mature than other places i go and with that maturity come the most pleasant people you can meet. Always a smile, always polite and always very helpful. For me Buxton Opera house Staff are the bench mark for everywhere else i go in this country.
Fabulous building, beautiful evening, amazing gig! Only downside lack of loos. Go in the pub first!
