Low seats for tall adults, but very ornate building with dedicated volunteers looking after show goers
Went to see the Mikado. It was excellent. Sat at the back, 4th row, of the upper circle. View OK but not steep enough to see over the people in front of us.
This is a beautiful old theatre which was refurbished about 10 years ago. The staff are always friendly and helpful. We've seen a variety of shows and they've always been well produced.
Such a dramatic setting in the heart of Buxton. What a venue! Only downfall is seating which for someone tall can get uncomfortable.

I love Buxton Opera House BUT the ticket I had had restricted view OK, I understand that but....it was full price..... & I could only see about 1/2 the stage....for The Trocks. At full price I was not expecting that. This has left me really unhappy. Especially as they had done this to other people who were at the show....they were bring sympathetic. Left me feeling unhappy

Great opera house. Tickets vary. They offer a variety of shows to suit all ages. Parking at pay and display approx 4/5 mins walk away.
Been here a few times now, what a great place. So much more style than some modern places.

Went to see irish Celtic dancing show,it was brilliant, in the lovely area of Buxton,Cheshire.
Seats are very small amd narrow. Huge queue for bar and toilets.

Wonderful staff so helpfully and friendly. If you have issues with stairs there are no lifts so when booking book ground level. Sound system amazing!

Staff here are great, friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere is something that is now sadly lacking in the new cinema type venues so it s worth looking up at the detail and the gold leave. The only down side are the seats which very narrow and make RyanAir seats seat large. But don t regret coming up from Northampton

Buxton's mini opera House is a lovely theatre from another era. Putting on a wide range of events, this elegant theatre sits in the centre of Buxton, one of the distinctive civic buildings that reveal Buxton's prosperous past as a spa town.
The theatre is a jewel, absolutely charming and a delight that such places still exist. We enjoyed an excellent performance of Oliver yesterday, and it was reassuring to see it was a full house. Long may it continue.

Buxton Opera House is an architectural jewel Purpose built for opera, the inside is sumptuous and acoustics perfect for musical events. Staff are always friendly and polite. Whatever you are going to see you will love this place.

Visited the theatre for the first time last night 25th nov what a beautiful building .we went to see vampire rock and i can only describe it as awesome .if you like rock go and see it . The theatre made it that bit more special .The staff were very good too .
A beautiful place to visit, no matter what is on. An experience not to miss. This year's pantomime had the best ugly sisters ever. The prince sang like an angel. Wonderful!

I've been going for 50 years... first saw Jimmy Clitheroe here so that dates me. Great thing is that I don't think its changed. It still says "Ices" over one if the kiosks!. Just been to see Fisherman's Friends which was great. And they sell Jaipur at half time too....marvellous
Beautiful building and a great evening with Steeleye Span. Lots of steps inside and out so not apparently disability friendly. Delicious ice creams available at break

Buxton Opera House opened on Monday 1st July 1903 and is presently one of only 25 original Frank Matcham designed theatres still active. Matcham designed over 100 theatres between 1879 & 1912 and is regarded as one of the most important theatre architects of his time.
