Button Opera House is a great place to go to see a show. The theatre of course is historic being built in 1903 and designed by Frank Matcham and has 902 seats. The shows change in a regular basis so check the website to see what's coming up. You can order drinks for the interval and pick them up in the small bar where the staff are very friendly. The prices are very reasonable compared to London and parking is quite easy.

This small (900 seats) Edwardian theatre plays regular host to popular tour comedians, musicians and travelling productions (RSC etc.). It has an opulent interior, and it's various limitations (narrow walkways, tiny bar, limited toilets) are also a significant part of its charm. It's size means there's no seat which won't get you a good view, and the varied surrounding restaurants and bars ensure it has a popularity that belies Buxton's location.

Beautiful traditional opera House with 4 tiers of seating and several bars situated in the wonderful Pavillion gardens. Staff were helpful and friendly. We went to see the Halle here for a trip to Buxton and enjoyed our visit.

A lovingly restored theater with friendly accomodating and helpful staff. A quick bar service and preorder drinks which works very well for the interval. Very family friendly attitude. There's some real gems appearing at this lesser know venue. Keep an eye on the schedule through the year

Saw two shows on two nights. 1st night fantastic seats and plenty of room. 2nd night we were in circle row E in the middle. Because of the bend in the row these seats were smaller. Not suitable for people with back or knee problems. This will not deter me from going again as the Palace is a lovely intimate theatre.

A really beautiful old theatre, intimate and cosy. We were sat in the stalls on what must have a sell out performance of 'an audience with Simon Reeve'. Being a sell-out presented the only disadvantage. The theatre was crowded and cramped with little space to move around compounded by the queues for the limited toilet facilities in the stalls. But a minor gripe for such a lovely place.

We attended the opening night of the Festival. The show hosted by Lesley Garret was excellent. We were in the dress circle. For anyone with long legs I suggest you book an aisle seat. The seats are a little cramped. It was lovely listening to the Northern Chamber Ochestra but it is just a shame you can't see them. I felt sorry for them last night. It must have been stifflying hot in the Ochestra pit below the stage.

Beautiful building with a good range of shows run by a dedicated team of volunteers and professionals, boxes are a good experience if you book ahead but tend to have more limited views
