Great place to stay, all though food in beachcomber isn't recommended it was very bland. I had a chargrilled chicken sandwich, the description said it was grilled chicken top with salad dressing but it definitely was definitely chicken from a pack and was very watery with very little sauce... Apart from tht though the entertainment is brill and always something to do

'Our true intent is...to ensure we make a decent profit.' A massive moan is that they make you queue needlessly for the water slides - you have to wait until the last person comes off the slide, gets changed and has dried their hair before another person gets on. Most kids don't bother waiting for the slides after one or two goes. Of course, there are positives. There's lots to do (more so if you pay oodles of cash), the accommodation is great (better than Bognor and Minehead) and the site is well maintained. We probably won't fork out for Butlins again (we'll do airbnb next to a theme park instead). It's best value if your kids are under six.

When we arrived all was ok until we went to our accommodation the carpet was literally wet through due to the shower tray leaking all the carpets were dirty there were stains on the bed the outside of the apartment needs a good luck of paint and Al the paths outside were covered with litter and cigarette ends full rubbish bags .

Have been going for 10 yrs and this time the service wasn't good the entertainment was limited and the accommodation was poor. We have always eaten in the standard dining and has always been a great selection. This time there was 3 stations not hardly anything for kids and the choice was very limited. Defiently not worth the money. In fact between my family that went it was nearly 1000 pounds of which we defiently didn't get our money's worth. Very disappointed as I have been taking my children for years. It is always a family get together and great memories made. Not this time

Spent the weekend here with the family. Plenty on for the little ones in terms of entertainment and activities. We stayed in a silver apartment which could have done with a really good hoover prior to our arrival but other than that was fairly clean. Plenty of food options on site but be sure to book in the day time or night before as you can't just walk up and grab a table from our experience.

We did a 3 night stay, and found it extremely exhausting and very expensive, which I think is discusting especially when it is so much just to stay there, there is plenty to do, if you don't mind the queue, we had to for everything we did, loads of places to eat!!! Just make sure you have plenty of money as it's expensive to eat there

Butlins has surprised us. Very, very good indeed. This place is taking COVID-19 very seriously. Things were cleaned all the time masks had to be worn apart from when we eating and drinking. Great food. Lovely staff. Loads of great fun and entertainment. Really made up for not being able to go abroad this year. First time visit for us and won't be the last. Thank you Butlins

A great time with my son and grandson. The accommodation is a bit basic but that's what we paid for. If you don't mind a restaurant reassembling a school canteen but the food was very good with plenty of choice. Plenty of thing's to do, then that's what Butlins is all about. Altogether a really good time was had by all of us.

Good location, loads of entertainment for kids. Wouldn t recommend the accommodation though (gold apartment ) filthy corridor and squeaky floor boards totally a run down place for the price and if you are lucky enough you will have your towels changed every day. The WiFi here is a scam don t login with your email id as you ll get hacked eventually! Something the staff members don t know as it s provided by a third party and not Butlins great?

Awful! We left after 5 hours due to our accommodation being disgusting. Waited a month for a full refund and I'm still waiting for someone to phone me about my complaint! Avoid at all cost! We'll stick to Minehead or bognor! Skegness is an embarrassment to Butlins!

Butlins surprised us all :-) I will start by saying we all had low expectations of this holiday but as it was very competitively priced we felt we had little to loose. But we all left Butlins having had a fantastic time and are all planning to come back next year for another music event. We were a party of 6, aged 53 to 76. On arrival we queued to gain entrance to the site and was promptly asked to follow a green line around to another area where we checked our whole party in and collected our wristbands and room cards for everyone. We could also access our room 90 mins early and we were directed to the parking for our apartments and used the convenient luggage trolleys to ferry our stuff to our apartment. The whole process took less than 40 mins. We rented two apartments both with two bedrooms 1 x seaside and 1 x fairground. Both included towels, sheets, loo rolls, toiletries and wash up pack including tea towel and washing liquid. We also had house keeping. These apartments were excellent. As we had brought food to self cater we took full advantage of the kitchen this had exactly four of everything for the four occupants ... and was adequate for most cooking tasks. But if you want to cook in the oven I would recommend you bring a oven proof dish. We had been given just one what s on pamphlet per apartment ( would recommend asking for more ) we also had the live music app on our phone. The app was useful for telling you what, where and time of the acts but it was fairly useless ref restaurants as it didn t tell you what was open or closed ) Our party went to acts mainly in the Reds Bar .... and yes it was very crowded, for us it was no problem as we were happy to stand and dance, but I can totally understand and observed the problems other reviewers have stated about queuing and no seating. We thought this problem could be mitigated by the acts being on twice and then not everybody would be forced to try and see the act at the same time. This issue would be a major negative for people who can t stand or queue... like others we also found the floor incredibly sticky both carpet and dance floor were awful and gave the impression they were not clean both this and the crowding should be areas the managment resolves promptly. The quality of acts was outstanding we were totally impressed. We saw, The Troggs, Marmalade, The Stones, The Trems and numerous others. We also tried the Beachcomber Bar for our final meal and were happy with the food but a minor niggle was they had no mustard or horseradish surely these are a given in any English restaurant? Every member of staff was courteous and happy to say hello and help where needed. All in all Butlins impressed even with the niggles mentioned above we will be back and will bring more of our friends. For those of you thinking of booking remember the site is enormous so check how far your accommodation is from the main arena also note there are numerous types of accommodation so check carefully that what you are booking does have everything u need.

Very run down buildings are all made of rotten wood (no exaggeration) signs missing letters main public space tent stained rides look tired to the point where they LOOK unsafe generally a very grotty place very disappointed looks like no money has been spent in a long time even the repairs that have been done are very slapdash my kids could have done a better job painting compaired to how this place used to be it's a real let down I'd take a haven site anyday over Butlins for a UK holiday

Great if you have younger children though sometimes there are long queues to events and shows. The star attraction is the pool and funfair. I was unhappy that all the cash points charge a fee for usage and the ticket rewards for prizes in the amusement arcades were very poor. However that didn't determine the small kids having fun.

A CRIPPLING EXPERIENCE Despite paying extra for an accessible apartment we were given a silver chalet with no kitchen, no living area and a good 10 minute walk to main venue ( 20.minute walk for me). Beds were so hard and mattress was so thin that I am still sore and aching 3 days later. No Information about mobility scooters until in desperation I downloaded the app and realised there was a hire shop however by then it was closed. Woman on the gate knew nothing at all - nothing about our accommodation, where it was or disabled parking ( which was all full anyway when we found it ). When we had finally had enough and found the office we were told we should have complained sooner and they would have sorted everything - the fact that we still had a day and a night there didn't seem to matter to them.( great cop out butlins ). We had to stand in a queue for 40 minutes to ensure a seat at the main even venue despite me having a walking stick and taking turns with my friend and my partner because I couldn't stand for that long at once. Breakfast was lovely and staff friendly enough, although it didn't occur to any of them to offer to help when I was trying to carry a tray and walk with a stick. This weekend was a Christmas present from my partner so that my life long friend and I could relive our youth but it was ruined by bargain basement accommodation, total disregard for those with mobility issues and no attempt to rectify any of our problems when confronted. COME ON BUTLINS GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER- YOU USED TO BE AN AMAZING HOLIDAY COMPANY - WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU?.

Visited Mon 29th July for 4 nights. Checked in at 6pm. Our pack wasn't ready for some reason but only took a few minutes to sort. Accommodation was on Starfish Quay (silver room only). Nice, basic room. I would advise bringing a 4 way plug socket as there are only 2 plugs so if you have the tv plugged in plus need phone charger/kettle/straighteners etc its a juggling act. I also think there should be a mini fridge in these rooms for milk etc (although i think you can hire them - i may be wrong) First night the fair shut at 6pm. Was surprised as its the school holidays and the park looks full to capacity. Went swimming the 3rd day - fantastic facility but try get there early as by 12pm there was a massive queue and the pool was full. Overall a great stay and reasonably priced. We enjoyed it.

Good place to go especially for young kids. There is also a 60s weekend just for adults. There are three stages for entertainment. The swimming baths have three pools inside. One pool is a baby pool with very shallow water and three small kiddy slides. There is one normal pool with a sitting area in the middle. Then another pool with a current that pushes you around in a circle. Not including the small kiddy slides there are four big water slides.

The accommodation is a tad shabby if your staying in a standard apartment but it's a great place for children. Loads to do and the swimming pool is excellent. We didn't take up the food option but would have done if we could turn back time. Make sure you book restaurants and activities in advance as easier and cheaper. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be coming back in the future.
