Caveat emptor!!! Signed up and paid for 1g Internet speed. Discovered strictly by accident from a BT CS rep that my street is wired only for 150mg. Customer Service associate and manager were completely unapologetic about not advising us about this problem. Cancelling service and going back to Xfinity. One star is one star too many!!
10/3- Two members of my condo Board have advised me that they knew absolutely nothing about the 150mg limitation to the service installed at this location.
I have gigabit fiber to my living room for like 80 bucks a month. I wouldn't think of buying cable tv or phone from them (or anyone) but the internet is fast, and in years of using it there has been system outages extremely rarely.

By far the best internet service provider in Burlington. I only wish it could expand to other surrounding areas, like South Burlington. I've been a customer since 2006 and never had any major issues. I've had their phone service for a few years and it worked great. However, I cannot comment on their TV service as I have never subscribed to it.
Pretty pleased. 1000x better then Comcast. Are usually happy to help when a problem arises. Speeds are pretty good as well. Certainly worth switching if your thinking about it.
Decent telecom services, priced correctly for the sub-par quality. My main issue with my service stems from the fact that a roommate returned all equipment associated with the account and BTV telecom claims it never happened, citing a receipt that would have been issued that was never issued. No longer living in the area I am utterly powerless to protest this as multiple phone calls resulted in nothing. I understand a business being skeptical in this situation but to have to pay for equipment that was returned and 'couldn't be located' by BTV telecom is beyond unsatisfactory. Very glad to have wiped my hands clean of these clowns.
I have been a customer of this Cable Company since day one . I can say there was a time . When it was a mess . They did not treat the customers well Especially Courtney!. The cable always seemed to go down .
When you called , they had lame excuses to the problem. When I had someone that once installed cable .Check my wiring and gigabit box . It was messed up and out dated. Telecom said to me that there was nothing they could do . If I wanted it fixed . I had to pay for it . To make a long story short . After giving someone I will not name . A few nice words . I got what was needed .
Years later . They have changed for the better . The cable does not have issues . like tiling or going out . IT is good .
For those that think that this Company stinks . Change to Comcast / Dish or whatever . Good luck to you . It is better than speaking to someone from India or overseas . That you can not understand a word they are saying .. Stop crying and change service to another company .
If you do your math . It is reasonable .
They have made great strides to change for the better .And have proven to be a good company .
I called a month ago, multiple times, to ask about setting up service after they recently installed cable in my neighborhood. I have not heard back from anyone. I can see how badly they want my business. Not impressed. Guess I'll stick with over priced Comcast. At least they respond.

Amazing customer service. All the representatives are extremely friendly, helpful, and you can actually talk to someone without waiting two hours. Imagine that! Wish I had similar service down in Boston. Also the internet speeds are pretty much as advertised. Take notes, Comcast.

this is the worst internet you can get, they installed our homes router when are family was away and when we came back it was hanging from the celing with all the wires scrambled and in a big mess. When we used are devices, we had worse internet then your local McDonalds, which is to say, TRASH. TRUST ME, you do not want to pay for this, go with xfinity or another big internet provider. Even though its nice to support local businesses, the reason the companies are big is because they are good.
If you are lucky enough to live in their coverage area I would recommend trying them out. Burlington telecom is inexpensive and I can't remember the last time I have had a major service outage the 4 years I have been a customer. Great customer service also in my experience.

Internet is more than plenty fast. Tech support is more than happy to answer all of your questions. My installation was very smooth, the installation tech asked me where I would like to put there entrance box, and was happy to put install the ONU box at my request of location.The installation tech very efficient with the install, and friendly. I have no complaints about Burlington Telecom's Internet service. Yes I would definitely Recommend Burlington Telecom for internet and all service you may needs.
I was BT's 5th residential customer way back in the beginning, 2005, and did my part to help it survive its first rocky years by leading two volunteer citizen advisory committees. Over the past five years, BT has grown not only out of its growing pains, but also its stagnant subscriber base to a position of financial stability and poised to fulfill its potential.
I hear the worst things about other cable companies. We are so lucky to have Burlington Telecom. Internet speed is amazing. Any issues have been resolved quickly by a knowledgeable person rrwched quickly by phone.
I have nothing but good things to say about Burlington Telecom. Their speeds are unmatched in the area, their service is reliable, their prices are excellent, and their staff is friendly. They were even a part in my decision to move back to Burlington after leaving.
BT is the best, its a shame our idiot mayor wants to sell it

Have had a really wonderful experience with these guys. A lot of the negative reviews seem like they could be a result of user error. Certainly a better choice than Fairpoint or Comcast.
Every time I try calling I get out on hold then the call ends I've called multiple times on multiple different days this is ridiculous

I'm so glad I switched internet service providers from Comcast to Burlington Telecom. BT's service is so much more reliable. Affordable prices. Fantastic customer service. In 2 years of service I don't think we've ever had an outage. We never have slowdowns. The installation was super easy. I will NEVER go back to comcast as long as BT is around.
Unreliable, overpriced, and poor tech support for the many times it is down. Don't expect to get a refund either as the manager will just hang up on you.

Great fiber, but the worst customer service I have ever received from a telecommunications company. I had an issue with BT and contacted them in order to resolve it. Both the representative as well as his supervisor were more concerned with being right, than they were listening to what I had to say and trying to work towards a solution. You could tell that they wanted to get me off of the phone rather than trying to listen to what I had to say.
I agree it's sad/pathetic that a local company provides such bad customer service. I would strongly recommend against using BT even though their fiber is cheap and the product is good, it's just not worth the headache of having to deal with them if something goes wrong.

I've had Burlington Telecom for a few months now and their customer service is leaps and bounds better than any other cable/internet provider I've had before. Yes, there are some issues that will arise with any cable/internet company such as outings and slow connections, but Burlington Telecom is always on top of it and quick to solve the issue. They answer their phones, respond to their emails and are very knowledgeable and helpful. They are also very competitively priced compared to the larger, national companies. I highly recommend Burlington Telecom and the services they offer.

I've used Burlington Telecom for my business since opening years ago and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! I've lived in many places and have worked with Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, etc etc large companies. I currently have Comcast at home (because I live in Williston, I cant wait until Burlington Telecom expands!) And I would literally pay twice as much to work with Burlington Telecom at home instead. Comcast could care less, their support is painful to deal with and they are slower, constantly dropping and I feel like every week I have to deal with problems. Burlington Telecom has been an absolute delight to work with, I feel like they treat me like a friend instead of a customer. They have reached out and offered to lower my bill and reorganize my plan to better suit my usage!! WHATTTTT a company calling to charge me less and give me MORE!?!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME, if you're in their coverage zone you have to switch to Burlington Telecom to gain not only a great company, but a great friend who looks out for your best interest

Burlington Telecom provides excellent internet and phones service and great customer support when needed. I really appreciate their competency and availability, both over the phone and in person. Particularly as I have had nightmare experiences with other providers. I am very happy with the services I have received from them over the years.
This company is by far the most honest and fair service provider I have ever used. I have been on all three coasts of the US and I have not met a company yet that has been this honest about pricing. Calling in to set up the installation was simple and genuinely surprised me on how much they give you for the price. If you have the ability to switch, then switch to BT.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! The cable box I returned to them DISAPPEARED! No records of it and of course I lost the receipt. Boy dont I wish I had it !! They treated me like I was wrong and are charging me anyway~Its really just the lame and cold way they went about it. Now they wont let me make a payment arrangement because they say I broke it once all ready. I explain to the very rude woman I am a single mom of 3, they dont care. They donot care about their community. I could carry on. It sad that Verizon has better customer care than this local company. NO STARS
all the times i have called for help to reset my remote they have always been very understanding and helpful. And when they were unable to answer because they were in a meeting. they called me as soon as they could. the only time i had a problem was when i had my daughter bring back my remote that was broken and i had lost the back and you wanted to charge me $10.00 . But otherwise i am very happy with Burlington Telecom.

We have just gone back to Burlington Telecom after many unsatisfactory years with the other cable company. I have to say the experience has been fantastic. Everyone from customer service to the technicians have been great. Our poor technician was here much longer than expected as old wiring issues hounded him, but he did a great job and everything works fine. Thanks you BT
Been a happy BT customer for 10+ years... home and business. Customer service has been top notch when rare tech or billing issues arise. Internet connection is fast and high quality. Landline has been bullet proof. I don't know about TV products. Prices are good. And it's owned by my neighbors and me (i.e., local gov't). Not sure why anyone in Burlington would go with another option.
The wifi is generally fast. Their service is kind responsive, and professional. Nevertheless, their prices are outrageous and ridiculous! Burlington TC will charge you for simple modifications within your plan, for signing up, for leaving a plan, etc. Say, if you leave for a month and would like to shut down the wifi for the time you are away in order not to pay for the full month, you still have to pay a surcharge in order to do so.
Fantastic local customer service, same-day fixes for issues, the fastest internet I've experienced on the East Coast, and very reasonable priced. Unlike competitors, they don't change their prices mid-year, add any fees, or pass their taxes on to you as "additional charges". Your bill will always be the same and you will always know in advance what it will be. Highly recommended. Also fiber-optic networks are in short supply, so if for some reason you need VERY fast high-volume internet, go with Burlington Telecom.
Crazy fast and affordable internet speeds. Ditched Comcast for Burlington Telecom's fiber optics as soon as we could. I get 10 times the speeds for less than what I was paying at Comcast and way better customer service. Only had one outage and they had it fixed within 24hrs.
Worst service on earth! Rip off WiFi is not reliable! Save your money, my cable is always turning off and on. When I call Burlington telecom I feel like twilight zone episode. Worst network ever! The city should have let this one die.

The network and its tech staff are second to none. No bait and switch pricing, no harassing upsets or marketing, just good, clean, fast and reliable service. Whenever I've had a problem - and it was always on my end - they were able to troubleshoot online immediately and walk me through the remedy. Let's hope the ownership of this business stays local. I highly, highly recommend.

My favorite is when all their employees huddle around the laundromat door smoking cigarettes! Forcing you to wade through their smoke to do your laundry. I love smelling like cigarette smoke after I do laundry!
I have had internet service for many years, mostly with Adelphia and then when it became Comcast. When we moved into Burlington 7 years ago, we signed up with Burlington Telecom. We've never looked back, since making that switch. Internet speed is fast, service is competitively priced, and there is nothing like having a real live human (who is local) answer the phone when you call. That's worth the price of admission, by itself!
Even more importantly, I have gotten to know some of the techs that work for BT and they are awesome! I want to give a special shoutout to Beau Tetreault who, IMHO, goes above and beyond the call of duty everytime. If Vermont allowed billboards to exist in this state, BT could say "you may like your service, but we have Beau!". He, of course, isn't the only great tech and it's great to get personalized service from a team that actually knows what they're doing. In this age of corporate giants, it's comforting to know there is a company who is local and actually cares. Thumbs up to Beau, Eric, Nick and the entire group at Burlington Telecom. You've got a fan for life!

Burlington Telecom time and again has responded to my questions and needs with answers and service that were polite, respectful, highly informative and effective. At first I thought I just happened to draw a top employee, but several have all been the same. Now instead of luring me into higher priced packages they are advertising for reducing costs with classes offered.to show me how (I've been lazy signing up for the course). A couple neighbors gave a similar story when I mentioned my experience.

I could not be more pleased with Burlington Telecom. They were recommended to us when we moved to town, and now I do not hesitate to recommend them to our friends and neighbors. Not only is my internet service great (always fast and reliable) but the customer service is just, unparalleled for telecommunications companies. It's very clear how devoted they are to the community.
I was disappointed with Burlington Telecom's customer service when I tried to cancel their service. I emailed them to cancel their service and they never emailed me back. I learned later that you must call them to cancel. Months later, I was forced to pay for an internet at a house that I no longer resided at anymore. I was particularly frustrated they did not show any flexibility or understanding to our problems. Relocating to serve your country abroad during a pandemic is tough and more understanding to our circumstances would have been appreciated.
My BT internet is stupid fast and affordable. Can't comment on their customer service, as I have not yet had a reason to use it.
They are a joke. I must say they just as bad as Comcast.
Been using the service for several years and generally satisfied.
HOWEVER and a big however, they just, unbeknownst to any customers,recently implemented a limit of sending no more than 100 emails/day so my service with them will be ending just as soon as I can set up with another provider.

Customer service is dead. Prices are over priced and when I needed help I was not treated well. I had to go to main office and get a new modem when mine died instead of a tech responding like I asked. I asked for a tech and customer service laughed at me and said probably not going to happen.
My business, Stillpoint Center, has always relied on BT for fast and affordable internet. When the building had issues with wiring BT went the extra mile to make sure we had internet when we needed it. Their customer service is the best!
We've had many different ISP's over the last 40 years, and Burlington Telecom's support staff has been the absolute best.
Burlington Telecom is the bees knees. The service is fast and we've had no connection issues that weren't a PEBKAC error on our end. They're also always friendly and helpful whenever we're checking out new apartments and calling in to ask about coverage.
It has been so great to have a local company serving our telecom/internet/entertainment needs. Any time we have had an issue -- whether needing a new remote or the occasional technical blip -- the service has been outstanding. I telecommute several days a week, so fast, reliable connection is essential. BT makes my home office work smoothly. We are so lucky to have fiber to our home despite the small size of our market. Although I had problems with the cable, I was getting rid of it anyway and they were wonderful to deal with. Now with just internet, I am ecstatic beyond belief, having lived with Xfinity's terrible service for years where my router was used as a hot spot and I rarely had even 20mb of service. Now happily floating along at 300mb, and delighted with the friendly and courteous customer service. No game playing about rates and services with these guys, just straight up honesty and fair dealing.
