This hotel is a bit overrated. The personal is badly tranied and doesn't pay attention to the small details. The waiters didn't bring water in the restaurant when our glasses where empty (we also had to ask for it in the first place eventhough we bought champagne) and later on they almost served the wrong vine. TIP: If you intend to visit the resturant or skybar remember to bring a shirt or a scarf, the aircondition is set to max and othervise you will experience a cold visit.
When we were about to leave the hotel, the butlers got us a car that was already reservated and halfway through to destination we had to turn around because the driver suddenly had to pick up the right costumers... I know it's just small details, don't get me wrong it is a very fine and a beatuiful hotel, but I expected a lot more from a 7 star hotel.. My recommandations will instead be to save your money and visit hotel Raffels - in my opinion they have way better service and much better trained personal than Burj al-Arab!
I had the chance to visit an ongoing mega construction project related to the development of a yacht marina (Under construction) near the jumeirah beach, Dubai. The yacht marina will be part of "Marsa Al Arab", a momentous mega project (US$1.7 billion) which will be built on two islands on either side of the Burj Al Arab hotel. It was an amazing experience for me personally to appreciate such a beautiful engineering marvel "Burj Al Arab" constructed on a man-made island. The British architect Tom Wright gave the iconic design of this luxurious hotel. The innovative design of this beautiful hotel is inspired from the traditional shape of a "Dhow". Dhow is a form of sailing vessel which is very common in the Red sea and Indian ocean. The building design emphasize the historical significance of seafaring heritage which was in the Arab roots. The average cost/night stay in a room in this extravagant masterpiece is approximately US$2600. The hotel is fit in with a marvelous Tennis court made of grass located at the top of the hotel (200 m above the sea-level). Gold is used to decorate the beautiful interior of this building structure. The total cost spent in the construction of this beautiful masterpiece hotel was US$650 million.

We were on my birthday during a short break in Dubai for brunch in Burj al Arab. It is worth it! Top selection, really very noble. Should be done when you are there!
The only 7-star hotel in the world as of Sep 2016. Only if I could spend a week here to enjoy the super high standard of living and quality of service to be able to describe the difference of the one and only 7-star hotel in the world.
