Brought car in for a repair from an accident in September.
Spoke with Vince from the body shop. He was very polite, answered all my questions. We had some difficulty with authorization from insurance but Vince stayed on top of it and kept me informed.
I brought it in for a second estimate after having my drivers side mirror torn off in a hit n run.
Vince took care of that also and had me leave car for repair.
Body shop staff was also very polite and helpful.

As always, great service from Jason Crager and was able to help me get the seat and door covers ordered for my Silverado. The oil change and tire rotation was quick and done when Jason said it would be done. My truck on the inside looked better than when I brought it in from the cleaning and disinfecting for COVID. Thank you all that handled my truck.

We received our pre-owned 2015 Equinoxe 6 cylinder for Thousands less than it's true value, ALWAYS A PLUS! It's safe, handles & drives GREAT with amazing aerodynamics, especially on the freeway. Chuck Culyba is fantastic. He has been with Buff Whelan is whole career and he is extremely knowledgeable. He always goes above and beyond to help me with any questions and concerns I have. The dealership in general is TOP NOTCH. Everyone is so friendly and truly happy, you just don't see this anymore. But when I come to this dealership, they make you feel right at home. Hisham Mansoor gave me a very Professional experience when buying my first ever "Brand New" car with (4) miles on it. His ability to communicate and keep me in the loop about evey step was Phenomenal. The Dealership in itself has shown me that you may get knocked down, but you get back up bolder and greater than ever. I am so glad they are back up and running and not let the fire keep them down long. This place has great leadership and it shows that they take good care of there employees and care tremendously about their customers.

Don't go here if your credit is poor and/or you're starting a new job - there are other dealerships and creditors willing to work out subprime loans. I applied for financing here, was turned down. I suspect it was because my credit score (low 600s according to CreditKarma) and the fact I will be starting a new job. However, my employment has been steady for 10+ years. The salesperson couldn't tell me why I was declined. When I checked my credit report, I discovered she only looked into financing from the BW and Ally (didn't bother looking for alternative auto financers, like Cap One, who approved me for 45K, which I found out when I got home. Also, had a car financed w/GM Financial - you would've thought she would've bothered to contact them at least - with no issues. Car is now paid off with almost no late payments). I guess she was too busy helping the four other customers she was juggling along with me. I'm writing this so it saves other people with poor credit the embarrassment of going to BW only to be turned down after being told they're "the biggest Chevy dealership in the region. We can finance you!"

As a side note- they completely undervalued my trade-in. According to KBB, the trade-in value is $2400. BW was willing to offer $1000 - are you f-ing kidding me?! Instead of haggling with the salesperson, I should've really just walked out right then. I'll be sure to tell friends and family to avoid BW.

My family had a great experience with Perry K. in the Certified Pre-Owned department. He was an awesome salesman. Throughout the whole experience, from taking the car for a test drive to talking about different financing options, he was never that salesman that pressured you to purchase the vehicle. He was very kind and very knowledgeable about the entire process.

Also, my sister and I met with Perry about the vehicle before the rest of my family. As a 19 and 21 year old, Perry never treated us like we were young kids that didn't know anything about the car purchasing experience, he treated us like any other potential customer.

Buff Whelan may not always have the best price around in Metro Detroit, but they had the vehicle I was looking for and the fantastic customer service makes up for any price difference.

Is not a bad option but not the best too.. is expensive than most service centres for oil change and and they don't check your brakes if u r not doing the tire rotation in the 18 or some point inspection. And the rep replying to the messages through allo said that they are open till 8.30 pm and when I reached at 7.10pm they refuse to sign me in for service telling 7pm is cut off time. Then after some talk and agreeing to get my car next day if they are not able to work on it, they accepted it. I hope every information need to be on same page than different infos when it's customer service.

My family has been leasing cars from this location for many years, and they have set the very bar high, for quality and treatment of its customers. These people really do treat their customers like family, not them saying it, but I am promising you this, and I dont work there. If you are on the fence with a dealership, you should definitely give these folks a shout. They work with people, and I am very particular. Pete Stancazk is the best in the business.

I went to the dealership with a letter from GM stating a recall. The service tech never indicated that it would not apply due to the fact the mileage was over the total that would cover the recall notice. He took the paper and went on with the paperwork. Never did he indicate it would not be covered. With a 10 yr old vehicle I am not interested in doing any major repairs and that is all they wanted to discuss. They then charged me $85 for nothing. I would not have brought the car in if I had not received the letter in the mail. They lost a long time customer. I won't be going back to them again.

My salesperson Amanda in used sales was great, no complaints there. She did everything she could to make sure I got the truck I wanted. However, There was a small bubble in the paint on each quarter panel that they said they would fix if I bought the truck. It wasn t much of a fix, because 15 months later each quarter panel is bubbled all the way across the wheel well, and rust is already showing through. Obviously just did a quick, careless repair that is going to be costly to have done right.

OUTSTANDING!
My husband and I worked with both Melissa Morrison and Michelle David, they were fantastic! We had been in contact with Melissa for a little while going over all our available options and helped us really nail down what type of vehicle fit our needs/wants and the day we decided to go in (which was last minute), within 5 minutes of being there, we were test driving our now new lease! After our test drive Michelle helped us with our paperwork. Even though she was busy and it was nearing closing time she took the time to go over our forms. She made us feel like we were her only clients!
Thank you to Melissa, Michelle and the whole Buff Whelen team for making our experience friendly, fast and wonderful!

Nicely rebuilt after the fire. The team is efficient in getting your vehicle checked in and go out of their way to help customers.

I think the glass blocking the cashier area is unnecessary and is a hindrance for both the customer and the cashiers.

I had some issues with another Chevy dealership but this dealer was very professional and helped me work through things to fully understand. I will definitely be back.

I have leased cars with the Caul men since 2003, first Chris, than Mike now Jeff and each of them have been so helpful. I now nave a 2015 Malibu LT through Jeff and will be trading this in for a 2018 when they come to the lot and I can check them out. I know Jeff will help has he has in the past and I look forward to seeing him again for my new lease. He is a fantastic salesman and takes time with each and every customer.

I went to Buff Whelan for a noise coming from my FRONT DRIVERS SIDE tire and also a break inspection which I was charged 35$ to do so. Today (3 weeks later) I took my car to my normal mechanic and was told that not only did I need both breaks AND rotors but I also need a FRONT DRIVERS SIDE control arm after Buff Whelan told me I should be good on breaks for 6-8 months and they found only a loose control arm on my FRONT RIGHT SIDE tire after keeping my car for I believe two days. I no-longer truth this shop and I wouldn t advise you to! It s more than about the money I wasted with them, my tire could ve come off and I didn t have any breaks but they didn t even tell me so that I could address it.

From my initial inquiry online to the call back was less than 12 hours and got my car in less that 24 hours after that. They use subtle fear-mongering tactics here to get you to buy vehicles that don't actually fit for what you're looking. Things like, "if you don't get this one on our lot that you don't want, you'll be stuck with the next model year and will lose out on $750." Lots of confusion over pricing; they quoted me a vehicle with less options for the same price as one at another dealer. I had different prices on the same vehicle from 3 different employees. My advice: call around for quotes and be your own advocate, don't depend on any dealer to look out for your interests.

Edit for response: The pricing differences were not between a 2018 and a 2019 vehicle. They were between a 2018 vehicle with the trailering feature added by the dealer and a 2018 trailering feature offered by the dealer. I was told to have the dealer add trailering was $221 (taxes and labor included) (factory trailering package is $695). But when added to the vehicle, the monthly payment quote went from $399 (no trailer) to $408. That extra $9 per month is $324 over 36 months, not $221. When questioned, the response I received was, "I just put the numbers in the quote box." Am I alone in wanting to know for what I am paying?

Additionally, we were quoted $408 for a lot vehicle with trailering added by the dealer (no engine cooling as the factory trailering has). I was also quoted $408 for a vehicle that would be traded from another dealer that had factory trailering AND floor liner package. Why is a lot vehicle with less features and a less costly trailering package the same price as a trade from another dealer with more features?

AMAZING!!! There s no other way to say it! My sales associate, Darrin Uhlig was not only very professional and knowledgeable, but went out of his way to assist me with every question I had throughout the the entire process (which was uber fast and painless, thanks to him). I have leased cars all my life, and have never had such a positive experience with not only a sales associate, but dealership as a whole! Thanks to Darrin, Buff Whelan will not only have my business, but when my husbands lease is up, his too!

It was good, Jason was very nice and helpful. He kept me in the loop. Told me he would give me a call on certain days and he did just that. Followed up and communicated well, which I did appreciate. They worked with me well on the rental if I needed to exchange and come in later in the week because of my work schedule. I will continue to choose Buff Whalen first even though I have other GM dealerships closer to me!

Took vehicle into the body shop for repairs, greeted timely and provided with a loaner. The service provided was excellent and the stall both in body shop and rental dept were great.
Brian in the B/S provided information and my repairs were completed and the car returned in better than new condition, Checking out (paperwork) was handled fast and the process was simple and easy. GREAT PEOPLE as usual at Buff Whelan

I m a little late on getting to write this review....

I m a little late on getting to write this review. But I was in the service area for a car repair about 1-2 weeks ago with my friends car. And may I say this place is very very understaffed. And it wasn t from the staff slacking since I could clearly tell everyone was basically running around with there heads chopped off in a panic for how overwhelmed everyone was. You d think it would be easy to have proper staff numbers at the number 1 dealership in the country. Anyway, when I got here the service area was completely full and lined outside the doors. Took about 5 minutes just to enter the building. Once greeted I stood in line for over 10 minutes maybe 20 minutes with lots of people waiting in line. Also looked cheap and unprofessional to have a handwritten poster over another sign for the waiting area. Also this building apparently has none and is not getting any AC I was told. I wasn t even working here and I already started sweating. It was extremely uncomfortable. I m shocked you guys are building this brand new building and you can t give your own customers and even more importantly the people that work in these conditions zero AC. Basically felt and smelt like I was in a sweatbox. There is AC s out there designed for an area that as a lot of outdoor exposure. Those fans literally did not help at all. Just blew around hot air. Now for the waiting room, you are sitting in a room that s surrounded by windows so your basically cooked alive with the sun beating on you. They had bottle water but they took they cheap way again and only use a cooler with ice. Looks cheap and unprofessional. You can almost go anywhere else and they have there water in a mini fridge with baked goods sitting out for free. They have nothing. If people who are not number one can do so much more for there own employees and customers I have no idea why this place is so far behind and just cheap with everything. Whoever the person responsible for managing the service area need a new outlook or just a new job since they are completely failing their team and customers.

Not related to my experience, but the line to get a rental car was apparently around 20-30min with around 20 people in line according to the person I talked to in line. Like I said you guys are severely understaffed and the people that were working are way overworked because of this.. Very sad. Will not be coming back and will be going to a place where both the customer and employees are treated as number 1.

I'm new to Michigan and didn't really want to find a new dealership. But it was time to think about getting something different. I found exactly what I wanted on line with Buff Whelan but couldn't find anyone who had dealt with them. So a coworker said check their reviews. Maybe a name will stick out more than others.

I found Michelle David was getting rave reviews. So I called and asked for Michelle. Set up an appointment for same day. Test drove what I wanted. We sat down to work some numbers. And in a period of less than 24 hours, I drove off the lot with what I wanted.

Michelle is amazing at her job. She knows her stuff and she will do what needs to be done to get her customer into the vehicle of their dreams!!

I take my car there for 2 diagnosis and they told me they going to charge you for power steering and life oil 170 and also we going to charge you for compression test staring 460 then my other insurance royalty they don't cover then I pay total for diagnosis $630 hahaha they are so funny I will never go back to them again
