An Amazing Experience!

An Amazing Experience!
Classic blues club, featuring exceptional live music in a cozy atmosphere with authentic Cajun fare. Ample memorabilia and nostalgia from Buddy Guy's multiple Grammy winning career. If you can visit in January, when Buddy Guy performs, don't hesitate; you are in for a truly memorable event. Central downtown location is a plus too.

Odd place. There are pathways like the DMV. do not to stand there, just letting you know. Got yelled at for standing there. There are chairs on the side for people to wait. After 8:30 I believe there is a cover. You are not allowed to record. Drinks are $$$$ and they are not even good. Food is ok. After all this atmosphere is great, performers have nothing to do with how the place functions.

This is a great place to come and enjoy some awesome blues. They have reasonable prices on drinks and food. The food is great and what soul food should be, flavorful and not greasy. Cajun popcorn (fried crawfish w/ fries) are great to eat while sipping your beer and listening to the music.

We would definitely come back. The only lacking thing would be the tables. If you want a seat at a prime table, you better get there early.

Visited there last week. A great place to go for live music in Chicago. Had a great time. Apparently Buddy came out and joined the band for a few songs during the first set - unfortunately we missed that. Still - a great night.

Spectacular. I have nothing more to say. Incredible place to see blues concerts while having a beer. The tables are usually occupied unless you go hours before the concert begins. And if you have the opportunity to see Buddy Guy, it is a true legend, pure charisma, great! The entrance cost $ 55 that is well worth it !!!

We bought regular tickets online, thinking we can enjoy a nice evening while sitting, drinking and listening to music. Well, we were wrong. Arriving an hour before is not a guarantee to get a seat. We were very disappointed. Big waste of our money. Music was ok. Nothing more. Cocktail prices are too high!!! Not worth the time or money

If you get here early enough to get a spot, or table, you can feel up close and personal with some of the best music acts out there today. I've been here multiple times and a bunch of them were right after the Jazz Festival so you know the shows are amazing. Great music, could use a little updating but that doesn't take away from the great tunes and fun times.

Visited on a night when Buddy was there-- while some of the patrons suggested that the blues were strictly for a particular set of ppl, Buddy himself was not so prejudiced as to who can like--and play--the blues. the blues can be felt by everyone--no matter race or age.

Um so it's hard to select what to say about this place...
There is a ton of history joined to this place and the walls show it, plastered with guitars and memorabilia. The music was on point every night we went. Yes it's a bluesy late night bar ambiance, very crowded and dark. But that's where the charm lies. They engage the crowd while entertaining with amazing vibes/music. Little tough to get s
Prompt service but that's to be expected in a setting like this.
Highly recommend but understand this is a late night blues bar setting.

One of the most characteristics jazz club in Chicago. A few blocks away from the very central Michigan Avenue, it offers a wide selection of craft beers and food. While the interior decoration is quite minimal, the live music is very enjoyable. Food is also good, and prices are reasonable. Finally, be aware that you need to pay 10$ (preferably cash) to get in.

Was a dream of mine to perform on that stage. Spent big money on the "Jam" tickets. List of performers filled up so quickly, there was no way I was gonna get onstage that night. Oh well, I only flew from Florida to do it. If you are not a local performer, you won't get your shot.

I live 30 min from the City (non rush hour of course!) and of all the choices for music this is one of my FAVORITES! Why??

1. The Sound Quality! This place was built for listening to music. To sit 10 feet from screaming guitars and be able to hear each note or even say something to the person next to me means a lot of thought was put into creating a venue for listening to music. When I am listening to a favorite band in a venue with the sound quality of a tin can, ( a common experience) I want to stab pokers into my ears.

2. Buddy Guy , and family members who are always visible keeping an eye on the place, continues to stay true to his original intent. To create a Blues Club. Cozy, smallish, high quality, professional talent and a focus on music and food.
This despite what I perceive as constant pressure from tourist crowd. I know it is exciting to hear blues great blues music in a small setting but selfies in front of the stage while the band plays does not really help you appreciate the sound. Buy a t shirt on your way out, and brag about your experience later, Your friends will believe you, you don't need proof.

3. The Food. For Exceptionally reasonable prices, my experience has been delicious, standard southern fare. Fried oysters, gumbo, ribs, cornbread. Michelin Star Rating? no, but standards are very high for their modest Chicago City prices. Everyone will find something yummy, be filled up with generous portions and have $$ left to tip the (in my experience) courteous and attentive wait staff.

4. The Music! go listen to the music!!!

Great experience and music but the staff needs to get a grip. It was a Wednesday night and we tried to put too many people at a four top and the bouncer had a cow!

Do you want our business or not?

The live music was pleasant enough, but the food was not. The greens were tough and I had to eventually leave it because it wouldn't break down to small enough pieces to swallow and the white rice that came with the catfish dinner had no taste. The waitresses and staff were efficient and organized. I didn't stay for the 9:30 show, so I can't comment on that. Overall, it really was a 3 1/2 Stars.

Good place. $10 IN around 9pm as they play blues. I was skeptical but it was nice. Sat at the bar, then buddy arrived and sat very nearby us although as it's not my scene I didn't really know anything about him/blues until after. Bit like hard rock with memorabilia on the wall.
