Well this place is a very nice and relaxing spot to explore. The Abby is stunning and set in beautiful, and well kept grounds.
On the site there is a book shop, gift shop, and a fantastic little coffee shop which carries ask kinds of local tasty food. There is normally ample parking, however be aware it can be busy in the summer months.

A beautiful tranquil place set in remote countryside with such an air of serenity that calms the soul. The architecture is very stark and new and a little brutality but the atmosphere overcomes the shell.
The restaurant and gift shops are are well stocked and not like many similar ecclesiastical venues their prices are very reasonable and realistic.
A very worthwhile visit.

Wonderful day in the sunshine with the family exploring the Abbey and grounds. The gardens are beautiful and the interactive exhibits in the information centre are incredible. As for the Abbey itself, it is truly stunning and the stained glass window is something pretty special indeed!

Fantastic accommodation, abbey grounds, visitor centre, and farm shop. We were here for the accommodation only, but ended up spending the rest of the morning after checkout exploring the abbey grounds.

Very peaceful place. Gardens superb. Very nice place to be. If you want tranquility has to be high on your list to visit in Devon. The shops excellent too. We bought a Father's fudge. Items from all over the monasteries of Europe

Excellent place for lunch/coffee then wander around the grounds. The interior of the Abbey is beautiful and near the car park a very interesting interactive historic display. Well worth a visit

The abbey looks absolutely delightful but I'm forced to confess (ahaha) that we didn't go inside, rather having visited to secure a modest quantity of Victorian red bull (fortified tonic wine) which is well worth the four stars on it's own merits, never mind what it apparently does to the Scots.

Lovely day out, easy to get to if you haven't got transport. Caught a number 12bus to Newton abbot then from there got the number 88 to buckfast Abbey. There was a craft fair and food fair on the green. Lots of stalls of craft and food and drinks. Lovely restaurant. Reasonable prices and variety of hot food, cold food and desserts. We visited the Abbey. Beautiful haven't been there for many years. I lit two candles. And sat down. You could wait for a church service. It's a lovely place to visit.

A beautiful piece of history, tranquil, relaxing, calming and then to a lovely coffee and cake - and of course the shop!!! Would highly recommend.

So glad that only assistance dogs were allowed in the grounds (we d seen someone being politely told this) as we d had quite enough of dogs in other places we d visited.

A place worth visiting! Although we only spent four hours here, we could have easily stayed longer. I look forward to coming back to hear a concert on the new organ. The presentation technology in the visitors center telling the history is top notch.

Oof. These old dudes like a sing song.

Oof. These old dudes like a sing song.
Don't make a noise though, they don't like that.
Great stuff if you like going to mass and all that religious jazz.
Lovely gardens, where they grow their own herbs and medicines.
Nice cafe, good food.
A variety of stuff sold on the shop, some of which is food and alcohol made by the monks themselves, such as the famous Buckfast Tonic wine, enjoyed by many a pleasure seeker, and those who like to induce altered states of consciousness...
Which is frequently, thankfully, forgotten by the next day.
