Decent sea food, expensive booze (though with free glass per beer drink)

The wait at Hula's was over an hour, so we gave this spot a try. Everything was overpriced by 50%. Certainly not worth it and I'll never go back. But, it's a good place for children and those who identify with Forrest Gump.

Friendly service, good food and everything in the style of Forest

With many interesting Forrest Gump references in the restaurant. Got a veggie portobello burger with some vegan sauces that surprisingly matched well. The cherry iccy was not so good tho...

The drinks are good. Ordered a couple cups of clam chowder and the across American sample platter. The chowder was lacking any real flavor. Our sample platter was 50/50. The hush puppies were awesome! The bacon wrapped shrimp is to be recommended along with the articoke dip, but the chicken was horrible. It was cold and dry. We went straight to the bar to order and eat to avoid the 2 hour wait time. Definitely a touristy restaurant, worth the trip once, but not a repeat place. The staff was really nice though! Definite plus!

Good food, good service, although I don t like the light of too much

One of the best experiences at a Bubba Gumps I've had. Service was fast, friendly and most of all accurate.

For a chain restaurant in a tourist area, it is what you'd expect. The service was on the slow side to me. Food was fine. Service was fine. Nothing to write home about. The view is nice. This is a family restaurant with lots of young kids.

Anyway, like I was sayin , shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. There s shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That, that s about it. -Bubba

High-end calling, food good friendly waiters have a wonderful sighting to get the view to arrive early

While visiting the aquarium we stopped here for lunch. The waiting time was a bit long but it certainly was worth the wait. The staff, food and drinks were outstanding!

Pleasantly surprised how good of a time I had here. The Best table service I've ever had

I didn t have especially high expectations, and was surprised when this place still fell far short. The positive was that the wait staff was nice. But, it took forever to get our food (we were there at 6pm on a Friday, lots of staff, not especially busy yet). My wife s salad had a big in it. My daughter got a very dirty spoon. My food tasted a bit stale. It was also pretty expensive, given even on a good day it s not supposed to be fine dining.

Terrible experience, very bad waitress. She was rude and smart mouthed. She did not do the welcome to Bubba Gumps experience. They are supposed to tell about the sign on the table. Or even ask if you had been there before. We went to this exact restaurant a few months before. It was great, had an awesome waitress. She was beyond awesome. This visit was terrible. The drinks were wrong, the fries were anyway getting cold. Had to ask for fresh cooked fried. Overall it probably could have been better if we had a different waitress. She needs to be fired grin get job, she obviously does not like working there.

This place is amazing. It has a great view by the ocean and very great friendly staff. I really recommend that you guys try it. And also this was my first time trying this and it was great. 2-8-18

Easy same day reservation and had a little mishap with receiving food, but manager made it right.

WARNING: Though this restaurant had good food, and our waitress was excellent, they are running a bit of a scam. Out front, when in the long line to wait, an employee of the restaurant said he could get us right in if we wanted a membership. I thought this was one of the usual rewards programs. We agreed and a few minutes after seating us, he came over with a membership card in a sleeve. When I checked inside the sleeve there was also a charge for $25 billed to our table for the membership, WHICH HAD NEVER BEEN EXPLAINED TO US. And the fact that he hid this receipt, folded up inside the card sleeve, showed that he was purposely trying to deceive us. When the bill came, we asked the waitress for the charge to be removed, and after some wrangling, they removed it. How many people pay the extra $25 on their bill without realizing they've been charged? How many people pay it because they don't want to "cause a fuss?" Not a way to gain the trust of your customers.

Ate here on a Sunday night with my family. We sat down and waited 20 minutes before we saw a server. When he did arrive he explained the systems were down. It took over 1.5 hours to get our food and when it arrived it was barely warm. We also asked for some celery for our seafood dip, and received 4 limp pieces and 4 little carrots and were charged $4.95. Wish I had snapped a picture, as the carrots were inedible. Other food was ok, but nothing great. Maybe they were having a bad night, but we won't be back.

Subpar food. Service was good. Drinks were great if you just turned 21.. and love sugar! Cute concept...next time I'll watch Forest Gump and order Long John silver's

Worst experience of my life waited 20miN after we were called to be seated waited another 40 min for food and I ordered shrimp mac and cheese then I get my mix drink with no alcohol FML!

It's good but every time it gets busy it seems the service just goes way down. You wont see a waiter for more than half your time there. Make sure to order double drinks if it's a busy day

I ordered a soup and salad.. I just don t know how u can mess this order up. First my salad didn t come out until after my family was already eating their food. I had no utensils plus no salad dressing. I asked for utensils and salad dressing and I was told they will bring it out.. I waited and waited nothing.. finally I got utensil and then the wrong salad dressing.. my family was almost done eating so I canceled my meal never got the soup. Everything else was nice but the waitress just enter the request in the computer then someone else brings it out from the back.

Had their steak and it was so tasty. Our server was so sweet and upbeat too. And the view of the ocean was spectacular. We had a great experience.

Bubba Gumps definitely lived up to expectations. Food was great and my drinks we're good. The shrimp shack mac and cheese was amazing. Chowder and salad was good too. We really enjoyed the view of the water and the atmosphere overall. This place is definitely worth a try!

It was ok. I felt like there was very few shrimp stuff on the menu. Because they do the wait list with Yelp I think that really hinders them. I put us on the list before we left the house. It told me I needed to check in by 7:03 but we weren't seated until after 8pm. So I'm not sure if there's a way to not check in and also have your spot held. I got the ribs and shrimp. The shrimp was extremely bland and under seasoned. I was dipping it in the bbq sauce just to have some flavor. The ribs were pretty good. But nothing is worth a 3 hour wait so I don't think I'll be going back for disappointing food. I know they were struggling because it was so busy, you could hear a lot of the servers openly complaining which didn't help.

Same as all the Bubba gumps around cali. Good seafood with that bubba gump ambiance. Plus it looks over the water.

Food was not what I expected - calamari was bland and shrimp needed seasoning. If I return, I will try an entree to see if it's any good. Lil disappointed.

Did not live up to the hype, food was almost fast food quality and 4 star restaurant price. Waiter was friendly to the point of interrupting our meal every few mins and the atmosphere was so loud we couldn't even hear each other. Won't be going back.

A wonderful outing to Monterey Bay aquarium and late lunch at the Gump, Bubba Gump, fantastic! :-)

Like it but sucks they took the shrimping dipping broth off there menu

This is the original and first Bubba Gumps restaurant. Magnificent ocean views overlooking Monterey bay. Gets quite busy and your can wait for a .while. They kept the menu more in tune with what people want and placed jambalaya back in the menu. At the time were went there it was the only Bubba Gumps that offered Jambalaya.

Good family food for a decent price. The seating time was 20 minutes, but that's easily spent in the nearby mall or the Bubba Gump merchandise shop.

Great place to have a large group of students. Service was good and would go back again.

My husband and I came for his Birthday dinner. My husband ordered the Garlic Net Catch Entree and I ordered the Shrimp Mac and Cheese, I'm not a big fan of seafood.
My husband really enjoyed his meal.
The drinks we ordered, at the end, we took our receipt to the store and we got the glasses to take home.
As you can see in the pictures, the receipt, it's pretty expensive.

Also, we had Key Lime Pie

Good food, nice atmosphere Plus we got to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful beach weather. The staff was nice, although a few things took awhile to actually make it to our table. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and shared a sampler plate of fish, the kids menu wasreasonably priced, and they ate the food so I'm assuming it was good The wait wasn't long and we enjoyed our meal. I would eat there again

I feel that they put more attention to the drinks then he food it self. The bathrooms are way to small there's no standing room to wait for a bathroom stall to open. I've try and given this place a chance and like it because I love the movie but the food is a 2 and the place is a 3.

One of the best meals i have ever had for seafood. Shrimp was amazing and so was the pear salad. Our server was also one of the best i have ever seen. She was on top of everything.
