Waiter Derek was very friendly and engaged into our silly conversations. Food was delicious. I had the New York steak asked for medium rare and they perfectly got it medium rare, seasoned just right. Perfectly grilled veggies. Tasty French fries. House salad evenly coated in ranch. Fried calamari (delicious). My 13 yr old son had the Salmon which was amazing. Husband had the seafood pasta and it was amazing and so tasty. Rice pilaf was very good. Their clam chowder was so good and I do not normally eat that. It wasnt too salty or bland, it was so good, I will start eating it more. So overall....everything was very tasty, delicious fantastic and filling. Unfortunately we forgot our leftovers, I would purchase the entire meal again if it didnt cost so much. You pay what you get for, and it was worth every penny. My first time to Ventura and the entire harbor was beautiful, fun and had so many options available for everyone. I wanted to stay there all night. Hands down, very fun vacation. Great restaurant, I hope everyone who comes here leaves as happy as we did. Thank you.

Great view and people. Food was average and service very slow. We were there late afternoon though. Kitchen was probably in transition from lunch to dinner. I never want to be critical at that time. As a chef I know the frustration of LATE lunch orders

Food was ok, my clam chowder was luke warm. The bread never got refilled despite the waitress saying she would bring plenty since the chowder is no longer served I a bread bowl. Had to ask for drink refills twice. Poor service.

Sat at the bar overlooking the sunbathed yacht club. Enjoyed a bowl of clam chowder and salad with Stone IPA. Very good. The waiter was ver friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend Trophy Bros.

The best seafood ever! Ive only have comparable seafood and super expensive restraunts but thebatmosphere here is amazing. Margaritas are a must! Anchor steam beer and shell fish are a sure thing and oyster shooters with liquor are the best. My gontonis the garlic baked clams!

The clam chowder here is the best I've ever tasted, EVER! So fresh and seasoned to perfection, and clams were not rubbery at all. It tasted like clams were added at the last minute so they didn't overcook. Hubby and I also ordered the More

THE ONLY THING GOOD IS THE CLAMCHOWDER!!! the fish and chips were awful and tasted like eggs I don't really know how that happened and the salad had no dressing??? I will never go there again go to toppers.

To begin with, the location has great views of the Ventura Harbor, and the decor pairs nicely with the view (however, I must admit that the Santa Barbara location is much more picturesque).

At about noon on a Thursday we found the place was fairly packed, with a 10-15 minute wait for a two-top, but we were able to find space at the bar right away.

The bar counter was rather long, and it took a few minutes to get the bartenders attention. Although once we caught his attention the service was consistently good.

We ordered everything at once. A half-dozen oysters, a cup of clam chowder (NE-style) for my Dad, and I ordered the fish and chips.

We started with 1/2 dozen oysters. Unlike many seafood restaurants I didn't see any indication of where they were sourced. The oysters were shucked and plated behind the bar. They were amazingly plump, and served with a wedge of lemon and a serving cup with a tasty cocktail sauce topped with freshly grated horseradish. They were incredibly delicious, and worth ordering. As we neared the end of our meal we found out that they were from the Chesapeake Bay, which amazed me, as living in that area I had never had any oysters of that size and quality.

While we were finishing the oysters one of the servers brought the clam chowder, and noticing that we didn't have any bread asked us if we woulf like some. Of course we said yes, and she quickly handed us a basket. Let me give you some advice. ASK FOR BREAD THE MOMENT YOU SIT DOWN! They have one of the best sourdough breads that I've ever had. Definitely the best outside of San Francisco. If you like sourdough you will not be disappointed!

Shortly after that I received my fish and chips. I thought that the fish was quite tasty despite being farmed, and the batter was just right. The fries were also really good. I'm not a big fan of coleslaw, but I'll admit that theirs was quite good.

Overall this was a great experience, and I would happily return again and again.

Note to management: I don't know what the demand is for your tuna melt, but in a place like yours why not offer a tuna steak instead of a tuna salad filling?

Also, I have to know where you get your bread! Please, I need more of it in my life.

Brophy's is a great casual hang with a great bar, a great view, and wonderful food. We always go for their fish and chips and clam chowder. The clam chowder is delicious with big chunks of clams and potatoes surrounded by an herb enhanced creamy soup. The fish and chips are big succulent pieces of fish with a savory batter that has just the right crispness. Salads are big green leafy affairs with tomatoes and carrots and house made dressing, and whatever else you've ordered on top. Oh and the BREAD! It is hot and crusty and served to you with butter when you sit down. Yum. One bit of constructive criticism.. They should do a fried seafood combo...fish shrimp and scallops, or fish shrimp and calamari.. something like that

A good place for seafood standards, with generous portions and cheerful service. My mild new england style chowder was chockful of clams. Our calimari rings were tender and sweet and the cocktail sauce had a pleasing zip. The house dressing, a creamy parmesan was surprisingly flavorless - maybe needs a touch more garlic or a bit of vinegar?

Ended up wishing I'd ordered the cioppino, since our friends who did loved it. Our server was good - unflustered with our party of 12 on a busy Saturday, she took some great pictures of the table.

The view of the boat docks from the harbor side tables is fantastic. I don't think we'd ever go down there just for the food, but Brophy Brothers is definitely the kind of place for a classic haborside dinner.

Prices range from $20.95 to over $28.00 for entres. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Bread and butter served before dinner. Entres come with cole slaw and then a choice of rice or fries and soup or salad. Clam chowder was very tasty and the mixed green salad was accompanied by garlic ranch dressing. Shrimp and scallop pasta dish was nicely seasoned and quite a nice portion. Very happy with menu selections.

Food was okay, had the sea bass, great flavor but over cooked. But... the service was terrible. Never cleared our table of dirty dishes, not even salad or soup cups. We had a large party so table was very crowded. Won t be returning

Love going here with friends. The atmosphere is friendly and happy. The food is delicious. My favorites are the calamari, fish & chips and yummy clam chowder. Though all the other plates I've seen look amazingly great too.

Excellent fresh fish and seafood prepared with great sauces and flavoring. The sea bass, seafood pasta, and clam chowder were all excellent. I was particularly impressed with the flavors and that the scallops were not overcooked.
Superb value and a fabulous view.
