I went for the first time during the Soul of a Nation exhibit last year. It was incredible! The artwork was beautiful and educational. There were live musical performances which I enjoyed. I loved Robert Therrin's Under the Table artwork. This a great museum!

Even those who say they do not like modern art will surely find something that interests them, the collection does not change much over the years but for a first visit it surprises and excites.

This is the first museum I visited when I first arrived in LA a couple years ago. It made a very good impression on me. The line can be quite long so I would strategize a bit and try to go at times when it's less busy. The works in The Broad span a large range of contemporary styles, from more accessible/poppy/flashy works to complex and more interesting pieces. The variety in modern art means that there's something for everyone, even individuals who are less drawn to art museums. Highly recommend.

The museum was so good! There is a bit of waiting before entering the museum (1 hour) and there is a separate queue of 15 min for the famous infinity room, which I recommend! Your 45 seconds alone in this room are so magical this is a feeling I would never forget.
Plus, the top floor is free, and you have a lot of different contemporary pieces of art, I'm sure you'll find something interesting to look at

I went to the broad yesterday got there at 9:45 a.m. and we didn't get to go inside till 12:15! There was already a line by 9ish so if you're mainly there to go see the infinity room reserve advance tickets for march since they're booked. Service sucked most of the workers looked tense and had dull faces and it got annoying when people that DIDNT have advance tickets were cutting. To be fair there were some cool artwork and a music room that I enjoyed but overall wouldn't so it again

Beautiful space with an amazing and expansive collection of modern and contemporary art. Not much room to hang out like the at the Getty or LACMA but it is smack dab in the middle of downtown so there's plenty within walking distance to extend your outing.

OMG I cannot say enough about this Museum it was so awesome I enjoyed every single moment that I was in there and what makes his so amazing is that it's absolutely free so I cannot wait to go back to LA so I can see what new or they have posted. Now I don't know how often they update their art but hopefully I can inquire about that information. My suggestion if you are going to go would be to schedule it for the 1st opening and I believe that's at 10 a.m. and if you know what exhibits you want to see first I would go directly to them so that you can take your pictures because at 10 a.m. there's not hardly that many people so you can get really good pictures and shots so I suggest going as early as possible because as the day goes on it gets more crowded and it's hard to take those perfect shots.

In addition to those LA travellers who are introduced by Taiwanese bloggers, the (temporary?) museum next to the Disney Concert Hall is currently the most popular option in the local area; although the general ticket is free, at least the night before is best. If you want to make an appointment, the direct row on the day is not a popular exhibition. It can also let you go out on the hot days outside and look at the old eyes and watch the people who have made an appointment whizzing past you.

Just meet the Infinity Room special exhibition of Yayoi Kusama. This will only let you enter a 45-second exhibition. You will need to conceive how you want to take pictures inside. You also need to wait for additional queues according to the instructions of the on-site exhibitors. In addition, the exhibition area In addition to the private exhibitions that have to be paid for, the exhibition area on the third floor can be used for as long as you want. The theme ranges from negative energy, social status to any topic that you don't know.

Wonderful experience at the Museum. It is free however if you call ahead and get tickets you don't have to stand in line for a very long time. I guess the reason for this is that they only let a certain amount of people in and if you have the tickets then they know to expect you. I highly recommend you call ahead and get the tickets. People were waiting for hours to get in if they didn't have tickets. Once inside you will have quite a treat. There are several different rooms to visit and enjoy. It's hard to explain the artwork there I'm going to have a few photos posted. Also you can pay for I think it is two events inside like the Lightroom or something. We did not have time for that so we didn't think of getting tickets to that. Check out the photos there's lots of different types of art there.

The queue to get in is unbelievably long so bare that in mind when planning your day. That s if you want to get in for free however. You can purchase tickets in advance and stroll right it, so it comes down to your plans on the day.

The Soul of a Nation exhibit definitely worth a visit. It's well curated and the pieces range from oil on canvas to large thought provoking installations. I highly recommend checking this out while you can.

Free is good. I'd recommend getting here by bus, metro, carshare or walking. Not much parking. Museum situated near fancy and fast-food eateries as well as major tourist attractions like the Disney concert hall and the CA Marketplace if you want quick shopping. The museum has some great rotating displays and some awesome permanent ones. Nothing mind-blowing but very many photo-worthy moments.

One of the best galleries of contemporary art that you will find anywhere in the world. It is even better because they limit the number of visitors to ensure that they are never crowded. If you can plan ahead, please get an advance free ticket so that you don't have to hang around outside.

It's not very big, but you can fully enjoy contemporary art. Works including Basquiat, Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Jeff Coons are on display. It is recommended to stop by when you have time.
If you make a reservation, you will not be in a line. You can enter without a reservation, but wait in line. Admission is free, but parking fees are required.

Most of the modern art looks like it could have been drawn by a 5 year old. About 40 percent is worth seeing. 10 percent relies on shock value instead of artistic talent, and another 10 percent seems to have been manufactured in the basements of frustrated angry people. A good 20 percent of art is probably only there due to artist reputation and the remaining 20 percent is worth seeing for novelty. Modern art shows us that when we remove objective standards, the remaining subjective standards are far less fair to artists as success seems to rely on social connections, political favor and reputation instead of talent.

First off, let me start by saying that I think it's great that general admission to this museum is free. I think it's wonderful that they are trying to spur the public's interest in artwork and make it more accessible to people. I almost rated it higher for that reason, but it still just simply doesn't make up for its lackluster size and unimpressive galleries. I believe that its free admission has made this place extremely overhyped, I doubt very many people would want to pay a price to visit this museum if there was a charge, and certainly wouldn't return. Even on an off day like when I visited, the wait was very long to get in, and there was no tickets available for the Infinity Mirror Room, which you can only reserve tickets for inside of the museum. Quite inconvenient. As for the galleries, they were very small. There were a few interesting pieces, such as the giant table. I was rather unimpressed with the rest of what was available for viewing. It took no time at all to see everything that there was to see. It was quite disappointing after the long wait. I don't think I'll back.

This museum is great. A must see place especially since it is free. Reserve your tickets online to skip the line and make sure you reserve tickets for the glass room as well, its the best part.

Saw the fantastic, thought-provoking exhibit, "Soul of a Nation" that encompassed portraiture, sculpture and abstract paintings from Black artists exploring the meaning of Black art and protest. Also had the opportunity to see the Kusama lights exhibition and shop the tasteful, well-curated gift shop. The wait time for the "Soul" exhibition was really frustrating at first, but the staff brought umbrellas to those standing in the sunny side of the line. The line ended up moving faster than I anticipated (waited less than an hour around lunchtime on the free admission day). And registering for the text message system allows you to enjoy the museum while waiting to be contacted for entry to the Kusama section, so that's maybe the best way to handle the high demand for viewing.
