A great contemporary art museum. Parking underneath $12 all day on weekends. Reserve in advance or get there and line-up: first in first served. Expect a long wait if you dont get there before it opens.

If I could rate this place a 0/5 stars I would. My boyfriend and I flew in from Utah Excited to see the infinity room exhibit. After being told all the spots were unavailable you can imagine how we felt. AND TO TOP THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE OFF WE DEALT WITH THEE RUDEST EMPLOYEES I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. We were treated like dirt for asking simple questions such as when is the next available slot opening for the exhibit truly the worst experience ever. Worst employees ever. We even called to complain about it and GOT HUNG UP ON. What a joke

Really enjoyed this place. Very interesting pieces of art inside.

The building itself was my favourite part of the experience however. Incredibly unique architecture.

Just stay off the grass mounds outside, saw many people that got scolded for sitting/playing on them.

One of the best modern art museums I've been to, and it's free!
Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons and many more on permanent exposition, plus new exhibits come very often.
This place is one of the must-see attractions in LA, especially if you are an art lover.

This is one of the must-see places in Los Angeles! It's in the city center and admission is free! It has several exhibitions of modern / contemporary art by world-renowned artists (such as Andy Warhol of pop art). The building is beautiful both inside and out. You can download the museum app for a self guided tour using headphones. If you like art, set aside at least two hours for the free visit. They also have paid exhibitions, but I haven't been yet and I have no opinion.

This place is phenomenal. The art exhibits are sensational, educational, and inspirational. I went to see Soul of a Nation, dynamic, then I attended a special event, it was fantastic! If you haven't been you are missing out.

We got our tickets online around 2 months in advance, as we knew lines were long if you want to purchase the tickets over there. We were there as soon as they opened and manage to visit it without huge crowds. Really enjoyed this museum and I highly recommend it whether you are into art or not.

A brilliant Gallery that's available for free. A must visit for any art lover in LA. Very similar collection to that of Tate Modern in London. I would say the it feels a lot more small than the Tate and so on a busy day it may be hard to have some space to yourself.

There was a very long line to get in but it was free. Definitely recommend going in the mornings when they open . The main exhibition of the light room quickly sells out but is worth the wait. The other exhibit in the upper floors contain a wide range of artists and styles. There wasn't a smooth transition between rooms but the art within each room compliment the other pieces. There are some iconic works of arts by famous artists as well as some up and coming works. Great place to visit if you're in town. There is park at the museum however it was full when we visited. There are many side paid parking lots in the area though and the walk over to the museum is further compliment by other iconic and architectural buildings.

The broad was amazing to say the least, there are not enough words I can put into this review to show the level of excitement I had when I say a Basquiat and some of Jeff Koons installations. I did not get to see infinity mirrors but I already have tickets to go back.

I think from an overall spectrum it s one of the more unique museums I have been to, I would say the earlier you can go the better to avoid crowds. The are is very much eclectic and beautiful I would say, really eye opening as you walk through the museum.

LA attractions you must visit
If you make a reservation in advance, you don t have to wait
You can go in, so make sure to make a reservation.
I waited for an hour and a half as a walk-in before entering
As soon as you enter, make a reservation to enter the mirror room first and see the artwork.

Outside concert was way too loud. Interior performances were creative for shock value. Overall lack of compelling art at the museum, but definitely no dearth of crowds and lines. I dont understand the appeal.

Fan-freaking-tastic. A true gem of Los Angeles. We are lucky to have such a great museum here. I love all the artwork. The layout is great. Also, do yourself a favor and just get timed tickets online. It makes getting in so much easier.

Very amazing museum. With just enough art work to enjoy for a afternoon. Reservation is a must( 3months in advance). But the work days are less crowded. They have the museum art work and periodic exhibit that are very unique. It is a museum you have to experience. Compared to the Getty it very relaxed due to the fact that you have time slot to enter and exit but it doesnt seem like they are very strict with the time slot you get your reservation for. The museum art is free but the exhibit you have to pay for

Great museum, the best part: is free. If you don't want to wait in line you just have to register online before your visit. It's big and if you don't have a map you can get lost a little bit. Also you can't bring backpacks for the security of the exposition. I totally recommend it !

They have a very nice collection of work at this museum and enjoyed my experience. It's very hard to get a photo of some of the work like any of the Murakami pieces. There is almost always someone in front of the pieces taking a selfie.. despite that though it is nice to be able to see all the work they have. My favorite thing is walking down the stairs and getting a peek at the storage rooms at the center of the museum. I also recommend signing up to see the infinity room on the first floor before you start walking around to look at work because it does take a while to get a turn to.

They allow walkins! No need to wait until November or December with reservation if you're willing to wait a little.

They let the people with the reserved slot enter first. Five minutes later they let the walkins through depending on how many no-shows they get for that time slot.

We showed up the second weekend after it opened around 9:15am. A good amount of people got in around 10:05am (the first time slot).

tip: Head straight to the left pass the melted lamp post to reserve a spot for the Infinity mirror room. Around 10:30am the wait was an hour. Around 2pm we heard the wait was 6hours. Keep in mind that there are a lot of no-shows if the wait is 3-6hours long so yours might be 30min-2hour shorter.

The gallery is huge and full of creative artists including Murakami and Andy Warhol. It will kill about an hour of your time just wondering around in there.

What sucked: You only get 45seconds to enjoy the mirror room. No more than two people are allowed inside.

A big THANK YOU to Albert for his help!!! You saved us a lot of time!!!!!!

Stunning museum and art exhibits. I went to the opening ceremony "Soul of a Nation" art in the age of Black Power 1963-1983. This exhibit will be there through September 1st. It is free to the public. The museum is closed on Mondays.

Art in the museum is funky and abstract new agey. It is not exactly my cup of tea but I guess it is great for Instagram. The only major problem I really have with this museum is the lack of transparency the ticket seller had. He said we could either just see the third floor for free or the entire museum. Upon hearing this and knowing there were 3 floors and we wanted to see the famous infinity room (which btw you have to sign up on the iPad in the front lobby to reserve a spot but this room is on the first floor and requires you to pay for the ticket) but he didnt care to explain to us that the 2nd floor is literally nothing for gallery art or interactive art. BUT it has restrooms and some kind of office space looking area! The f
third floor and the first floors have the stuff you want to see and the infinity room which everyone wants to see but it is difficult to get a spot unless you go early!!! Anyway, long story....the point is why doesnt the museum just have a sign that explains where the infinity room is and how to see it and clearly explain the free ticket vs the paid ticket situation. Good news is the line out in front goes quickly.
