I am a contractor in MI and have had the pleasure of serving them for five years. They are honest, fair, and expect high standards because their reputation is important to them.

I can understand a property as large as The Lakes at Ridgeway having a lot of problems with plumbing, etc. that keep the employees really busy especially if it is not staffed adequately. However, I don't understand an entity of this magnitude not having an operational line of emergency contacts in place. I have called after hours and the telephone constantly rings with no answering service. Last night (10-21-15), I called the office hoping to be connected with an emergency contact or telephone number only to get a message that the mailbox is full and can't accept any messages. That is incomprehensible and inexcusable. I had to google the corporate office in order to get help. I have resided at this complex over 5 years and have not been late with my rent. Bottom line is: I pay rent on time, I would like service on time without jumping through hoops.

Broder and Sachse Real Estate recently bought Hilliard Village Apartments in Columbus, OH. I have lived here almost 2 years and before them when it was under Champion management I loved it.
Management is horrible. They never have answers to questions when I go and talk to them. If I bring up and issue they cannot help. One of the main people there, Joanna has rolled her eyes at me when I told her I was not going to continue paying rent for a dog that was no longer living in the apartment complex. There are more break ins, in cars now. Trash and glass are not cleaned up in a timely manner if ever.
Do not rent here unless you want to hire an attorney to get out of your lease.
If you're familiar with hilltop in Columbus, you might as well move there.

I have resided in my apartment for 10 happy peaceful years. Then new management took over the complex. Anything that needs to be fixed they charge extra. From charging for an indivdual blind slat to the $25 dollar maintenance fee for what they consider non-emergency after hours call. If we have to pay for extra services I might as well buy a house. I am very uncomfortable now, it's really time I start making plans before my lease is up...........p.s. Very unhappy )-: .
