Very poor experience with John Britt and his team ...

Very poor experience with John Britt and his team at Britt Management. Poor quality tenant sourcing, lack of communication, inspection of property and downright negligence. Customer service is terrible and sub-contractors are both questionable and produce poor quality work. I would not recommend this property management group to anyone.

This may sound like just another disgruntled renter, but know this, I do thank Britt for being awful. If it weren't for their terrible service and lack of communication, we wouldn't have bought the amazing home we live in now. As business owners, we wanted stability, and tried to get a 1-2 year lease extension (the home was comfortable, good neighborhood, easy commute to our shop) and it took them 8 weeks to respond, and only offering a 6 month extension, after we repaired their yard (which was dead from previous tenants) and paid all our rwnt on time, and were quiet renters (we work 6 days a week, we dont have time to be problems).

Britt Property management is literally one of the worst most dishonest businesses in Reno. John is a real piece of work, but his apathetic staff is not much better. They never respond to emails or calls, and are unpleasant.

Britt severely neglects their properties, then expects you to fix problems. Even problems you didn't cause, like lawn that's been dead for 3 years before you move in.

My wife and I are owners of a very highly rated local business, so we know the challenge and also know how to provide excellent service. And even as business owners we where treated like garbage by Mr. Britt.

Before you Rent from them, ask around. You will see. Check yelp, call other rental companies, and you will see.

Would not give me or my other potential tenants the time of day. Judging by the other reviews, they were doing me a service. Just wish there was a way to know which properties were managed by Britt at a glance so I could stay far away from them.

If I could give zero stars, I would. After being told to call today to schedule a viewing so that I could apply for a home I was told that someone else was allowed to apply without viewing and was approved to move into the home. I deserved a chance to apply for this home. I m am so thoroughly frustrated and upset at this company and for my family.

Just called to schedule a viewing for a house, and spoke to Kathleen. Not only did she sound super annoyed with me on the phone, but when she was taking down my information I explained it would be a roommate situation. She cut me off and said that I would not qualify because of my age. I am 21, work a professional job, have good credit and good rental history. Didn't even give me the time of day. Said all occupants in a roommate situation would have to be 23 or older. On top of that, I would be living with someone 10 years older than me. She was so rude, I ended up just hanging up after that. Great Customer Service! Thumbs Down!

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! When we were considering renting from Britt, I came onto Yelp and saw mixed reviews. Against my better judgement, I decided to rent from them anyways since the house was nice. Big mistake! We rented a house from Britt for 14 months. The house was great and rent was decent.
However, any time we had a work order (2 or 3 times throughout our tenancy), I would let Kathleen know(the administrative assistant) and she would tell me that she would tell John(the owner) about it. I would have to contact her a week later to remind her and then it would take another week to get the issue fixed. You would think an established company would be on top of work orders, but no.
Then came move out. During our move out period, Kathleen asked me to show the property. I was hesitant, but decided to do it to be nice. I showed the property to 3 different people - 2 of which commented on what great condition the house was in. We left the house in great condition. Kathleen even commented on the condition we left it and thanked us for taking such good care of the house. So when we received our security deposit, we were apalled at the charges. They charged us over $1000, plus they require you have the carpets cleaned prior to turning in your keys, so after all is said and done, it cost us over $1200 to move out. $575 was for painting due to normal wear and tear (I'm pretty sure that's illegal, so I'm going to speak with the housing authority regarding that).
My husband is prior military, so we have rented many homes throughout our lives. We've always left our rentals in a similar condition to how we left this home, and we have never had a company take more than $450 from our deposits, including carpet cleaning. So to say their charges are ridiculous is an understatement.
Anyways, if you plan to rent from Britt, don't expect any of your deposit back! Even if you leave the place spotless!

Just called to ask about a property posted on craigslist and their website. Lady (I am assuming Kathleen) was very rude to me on the phone. I came to check reviews before bothering to send her any of my information over to view a house. Glad I checked here first. Seems like I will just be wasting my time and money. Of course they welcome my application so they get some money from me. They'd just deny it though because my fiance does not have perfect credit. Won't even bother giving me the time of day to find out that I'm a great reliable renter and I just want a nice place for my family to live. But if I am going to get scammed I will not bother. And I will not recommend this company to anyone. Stay away.
