This place has great reviews but the food was a little above average. They also charged 2.50 extra to change from fries to salad. Not a huge amount if money but really not necessary.
We would not go back. The keg is similar , more choice and better value.

Great service, excellent selection of primarily Belgian beers, and even better food. I have the luxury of attending a dinner here once annually, and it's something I look forward to every year. Steak frites are to die for. Definitely on the pricey side though.

I have been visiting this restaurant for 13 years and it never disappoints. It is so rare to have a restaurant where you can put complete faith in them to produce a consistent, outstanding, delicious meal every.single.time! The smell of the truffle frites, the cozy dim lighting, the charming bistro music (it s cliche and I m pretty sure it hasn t changed in years but I don t care...I love it)...please never change!!!

I went to this place on my birthday. They don't accept reservation but we had a seat as it was a quiet night. The food was good (i had duck and my boyfriend had steak). The drink was average and the service is outstanding-our waitress is very friendly and professional. The only downside is the seat- they are not very comfortable.

Came for dinner on Christmas weekend. I'm a huge game meat fan, and they somehow had elk on the menu! The medallions we tender and cooked to perfection. The scalloped potatoes that came with were also lovely. 2 reasons why it wasn't five star: I am not well versed in French wines (which is 99% of the wine list) and when I asked the waitress for help, she just said she would come back when we made the decision. Two, I ordered a poached pear for dessert and got vanilla ice cream with a couple bit of pear on top. I'd go back again, but just stick to entrees.

Unmitigated Excellence. Hidden behind an exceptionally bland facade, this is the Paroda Perl of fine cuisine in the oyster of Victoria.

Pricey and worth every penny. Words will not do it justice. As you step back out the doors you will ask yourself if it was all a dream, and dream you will, about coming back with everyone who ever told you they know a better restaurant than you. ;-)

Delicious vegetables, interesting salads, good onion soup and gnocchi. Great dessert. Good wine choices and nice efficient servers. They do not take reservations so we waited on line and got in at 5:30 with enough people to fill the restaurant so beginning service was like being at summer camp with everyone being served drinks and table bread at the same time. The pace improved to be more personalized after a while. Onion soup could have had more cheese so I requested more cheese and was charged for it without being told in advance.

From the minute we walked up to the door, we were given excellent customer service.

Our waitress went above and beyond for us, and made my first experience there one I will never forget.

The food and wine were some of the best I've ever had. Highly suggest short rib main! We will be back to this spot in the near future.

Fantastic food, great ambiance. Staff all seemed very friendly and welcoming to guests of all kinds. All dishes seem to be balanced very well, with a strong understanding of meal composition. Definitely recommend, but be prepared to feel full even without an appetizer

Had a bit of a wait to get in but we showed up late and expected that. This place has the best burger I've ever had! It was simple and amazing! You must try it. Great selection of Belgian beers as well. I had the La Chouffe and it was crisp and smooth. Will definitely be back.

One of the best meals I've had in my life! Our server,Sterling, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and didn't make me feel stupid at all when I didn't know some of the fancy french words :) I had the duck confit with chickpea frites (to die for) and my boyfriend had a steak which was incredible as well. Would highly recommend to anyone!

A truly authentic French restaurant- the atmosphere, the music, the staff were all great. The food was so delicious and the drinks selection was great. We got there right at opening time and we re glad we did. Cannot recommend this place enough. Highly recommended.

This was a very special occasion for us and sadly we picked the wrong restaurant to go to, after waiting in line to get in, we in turn had to wait an hour and half to get our meal, when we got it it was okay, we had the pork chops and when the plate finally arrived it was just a sea of brown, it was mediocre. Ordering drinks we waited as well and then were told they had run out, but not to worry someone had run to the store to get the ingredient. The service was extremely poor, sat with dirty dishes in front of us for a fair period of time, as servers walked by and noticed. All in all very disappointing!

Had lam neck appetizer, it was so interesting with strong lamb flavour which is awesome for a lamb lover! The pork belly was surprisingly good too! So crispy outside, so soft and tender inside. With a special curry flavour sauce! The taste was so complex, exploded in my mouth!
We had the lettuce salad, the bacon in it was really good too. For the main course, we had the duck and the burger. They were a little bit salty but taste is good over all! For dessert we had the chocolate torte, it was amazing! Dark chocolate flavour, perfect sweetness for me.

We had a gift certificate and arrived at 5:40 on a Saturday (10 minutes after opening at 5:30 ) and were told that we needed to line up well in advance of 5:30 if we wanted a seat before 8 pm. If we wanted to be sure to get in at 5:30/6 pm, we should come on a Tuesday or Wednesday. When we asked for our $200 back so we could eat somewhere else, we were told there was not enough in the till and would have to come back some other day to get our money back. So NOT a great experience. Another couple outside were in exactly the same situation and went somewhere else to eat as well. We will never go back...no matter how good the food is. If you want to give someone a gift certificate, make sure it is to a restaurant that takes reservations!
