LOVE our square! Great events and just hanging out by the sprinklers getting some Ice cream always fun!!!

it is actually alovely samll area where families, kids can hang out and have fun together. but whenever I tried to do so in the day time ( and foeget about going there in the evening!) there were always weird people who look like high on something. Some of them ask for money, some of them just stairs on you so creepy. Horrible !

Main Street Square is full of great shops to visit. Right now, we have ice skating and when you are thirsty there is a delightful coffee shop you can pop into.
In the summer you can dance in the cool water spurts and watch everyone go by.
Good food, great ice cream and so much more!
Parking is good and the atmosphere is relaxed.

This area is becoming very nice. They have been working on it for a while and they continue to create serenity in the downtown area. Kids love to play in the fountains during the summer.

Attractive shopping, dining, and entertainment area. Great sites including artwork, water features, and a stage. Lots of tables and umbrellas for outdoor seating. Serves its purpose and does it well.

Nice place. Depot with visitors center. Walking your starts there..lots of POIs non-existent anymore (mansion used to be there...) :/

I love coming to the MSS when I m in Rapid City, SD. It s quaint, and always bustling with activity. Depending on the season, my kids either ice skate, or are running through the splash pads. Afterward, we usually head into Prairie Edge for art supplies, then we hit up Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for sliced apples, right before we take a stroll through Art Alley. :-)

Lots of shops and local events. Ice skating in the winter, fountains in the summer.

I was actually surprised at how much this corner of Rapid City had going on! Stores. Restaurants. Coffee shops. Shame the outdoor concert space wasn't finished. Bet it'll be good!

Such a great place for families and events. Sometimes over crowded but totally understandable.

Great summer events on Thursday night. It's like the City comes to party.

If the local police would protect tourists from the intoxicated native Americans begging for money I would give 5 stars

My husband Todd and I went down & enjoyed a lovely Saturday early evening stroll. He's completely wheelchair bound, but it was no problem for us to get around.

Summer nights every Thursday evening is a good time. Lots to do for most ages.

So much fun. Splash pad for the kiddos. Great restaurants. Movie in the square. Loved it!

Nice place to visit. The ice cream shop has amazing ice cream! we didn't stay long, but it looked like a good place for families to go and let their kids run around in the water on a hot day.

Main Street Square is a hub of activity in downtown Rapid City. It's a beautiful location ice skate in the winter or to hang out to see any number of festivals or shows during the summer.

Very nice setup with lots of activities throughout the year.

Why are dogs not allowed in a public square? Are you aware you are the town-center? In the open? With a public fountain? Your policy is very confusing.

My wife, sister and I just tried watching Star Wars at your Movies Under the Stars. About five minutes in, we were asked to leave because we had a dog. My dog is extremely well behaved. At the time of being kicked out, he was laying on our blanket. Even while we were being kicked out, he did not get up to approach your agent.

Last week I saw a man with two tagged raccoons at the square. He was letting kids approach the raccoons. Seriously. And I can't bring my dog.

A wonderful gathering place for Rapid City and surrounding area. The parking garage is free at times and the activities change throughout the year. We've gone ice skating, listened to free concerts, and other activities and always enjoyed ourselves.

Cool place to hang around. We were stopped a few times by people asking us for money, but that's to be expected many places.

Nice central place in downtown Rapid City, SD. Tons of eating, shopping, events etc. Nice parking garage next to it...nice to park in there..we do get hail in the summer evenings. Walking distance to almost everything downtown.

Disappointed with Main Street Square. I just moved to Rapid 2 months ago and have walked downtown and thought this city had a cool thing going on with the stage, waterworks, sculpture artists, etc. Then, I attended my first Movie Under the Stars and was told half way through the movie that I had to leave because my dog wasn't allowed. #1 my dog was peacefully laying down on the cement, not obstructing traffic and didn't even lift his head to smell the complaining security guard. #2 my dog was being way more well behaved than the horde of screaming children that were beating each other with foam swords, threatening the poor people sitting nearby, and disrupting the show. #3 Being that it was my first time going to the event and I was unaware of the dog policy, I hoped to be able to take a warning and finish out the show but instead was made to leave the event half way through the movie....can't wait to see what other unfortunate surprises this city has hidden under its updated facade.

Beautiful downtown area. Great food, entertainment and fun for the entire family. My boys love the fountains!

Great place to hang out with the bums and unemployed. Another fine example of how a mismanaged city wastes our taxes on a useless feel-good facade to employ their unemployable cronies. Go see Mt. Rushmore and stop wasting your time in the toilet of the Black Hills.

We had the best time here. The kids enjoyed the fountain and I enjoyed the coffee shop. We both enjoyed the ice cream.

My kiddos always have fun here. I wish the guy who botched at us about the umbrella someone else opened wasn't such an ass. Otherwise. We love it

Wonderful place!!! Its a nice.place to hang out and chill. There are activities to do there and some stores to shop at. I like this place and would totally recommend this place foryour first date LOL!!

ENJOY DOWNTOWN Rapid City at Main Street Square. If you like to be around people and enjoy the outdoors Main Street Square is an awesome place to head to. Grab a coffee or an ice cream and sit and enjoy the atmosphere. Thursday nights during the Summer brings Bands and vendors galore.

The Main Street Square is now a place I might want to take my family and friends out. They're really made it a nice place to go.

Fun activities for families. Nice water area for kids.

It might not be the most fun option for older kids, but the younger kids seem to love it! It's location is great for ice cream after playtime in the fountains, and I love the movies under the stars on Mondays! It gives the kids something to look forward to and it saves me lots of money!

There's always something going on here, from a bridal fair to a street food festival. P programming is amazing. On days when there isn't an event the interactive fountains are great for kids and in the winter there is ice skating! Fun for all ages 365 days a year.

It is always fun to go. Every thursday they have a concert for free, and every Monday they have a free movie.

Awesome! So much to do. Live music every Thursday night during the summer. Tons of shops around.

Terrible pet policy. It is a public outdoor area, akin to a park, and for some odd reason dogs aren't allowed. You aren't allowed to even walk a dog on the sidewalks around it in the evening when there are no events going on. Do their security guards seriously have nothing better to do than harass people walking their dogs? I know the nasty grass is fake, and I don't like walking on it myself, so my dog isn't going to pee on it. Leave me alone, please.

Great place to hang out in Downtown Rapid City. The shops have VERY limited hours so hopefully you have the day off to visit them between 11 and 5 on a weekday.

Nice area. However the step to the lawn needs to be ridden of, I fell there and didn't see that step. I have enjoyed my times there for various activities.

Super neat public space! Nesteled in the heart of Down town, next to coffee ice cream and shopping.

Maybe the worst music selection I ve ever heard. A great little splash pad for the kids, surrounded by coffee & ice cream shops, etc. Everything was awesome except for the PA system playlist. I m not picky in places like this, and I certainly don t expect them to play only my favorite songs, but over an hour of obscure & pop hardcore 70 s classic rock is just too much to handle.

Love the events and atmosphere. Lights. Water fountain. Music. Lots of great shops and food nearby.
