My quality of life has been retained because of the great care I have received from Dr. Nichols. They all have treated me like a friend.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful and talented Dr. Cuevas is.
I was his patient for a number of years until he left his practice for a research project. I was thrilled when he returned to his practice. I have had one cataract removed and will have the second one done soon. The COVID19 did get in the way of both surgeries being close together.
Again many kudos to Dr. Cuevas, a genius and caring man.

Excellent service Dr.Cuevas and staff were the most professional and quality care oriented health care people you could want.. I had surgery on my left eye 25 years ago and had problems for 30 days. I was so please with the care and service that I have received from the Boulder Eye Surgeon's office and Dr. Keller, that I just had to tell everyone about them. The entire office staff is first rate, and I've been treated with professionalism and caring during every appointment. I have always had a good experience at Boulder Eye Surgeons. The staff and doctors are kind and helpful and I know they will always act in the best interests of my eyesight.

Dr. Keller and the group provide high quality and caring eye health services. During each appointment I'm confident that every procedure and answers to my questions are thoughtfully considered against the best practices. I feel fortunate to have my eyes so well taken care of.

My husband's name appears above but it is I, Paula, who had the cataract/laser surgery. There are not enough words in a dictionary to say how grateful I am to Dr. Cuevas who was professional, caring, confident putting me at ease. His staff and the eye surgery center were professional and personable. It was a very good experience.

Dr. Cuevas performed my cataract surgery in January 2020. I had a single cataract surgery because the one eye was more impaired than the other, and we expect to replace the other eye in a year or two. My first cataract surgery was very irregular since one eye has had a congenital birth defect. Dr. Cuevas was able to improve my vision by 23.5 diopters, taking my vision from essentially blind to almost 20/20 in that eye. I am looking forward to working with Dr. Cuevas in a year or so.

Highly trained staff provides education on the procedure developed by Dr. Cuervos. Rarely, I pick up some readers for the smallest type (6 pt.).

My husband and I have been patients for 20 years and have always received professional and personable care. There is a careful monitoring of any eye issue with no rush to do more than is necessary. It was also Dr. Keller who sent my husband to an internist several years ago when diabetes was suspected and then confirmed.

My recent surgery to remove cataracts was indeed a pleasant one. The procedure itself was completed in less than 15 minutes. There was no pain nor any site of surgeon's instruments in my vision as I had feared.
This was a very busy office, and I was amazed how efficiently the staff
handled it all. Everyone was so pleasant and put you at ease right away.
A real 10+ Rating on my scale.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes about a year and a half ago. Great results, and I could not have been happier. But! As time went by, I realized my vision was deteriorating, getting "fuzzy" and I began to panic. My one year surgical follow-up appointment was looming, so I held my breath. After about 30 seconds conversation with one of the techs, it seemed a solution was absolutely possible. Turns out, I, along with about 30% of the population had scar tissue from the cataract surgery. Less than 2 minutes with a laser, and wow! Perfect vision. In fact, it's better than it was right after the cataract surgery. I cannot say enough good things about Brian Nichols, and Boulder Eye Surgeons! Love them!

I've been seeing Dr. Nichols for probably about 20 years, and my family sees him as well. He is amazing - does thorough testing, explains results and implications clearly and has a wonderful reassuring manner. I trust his expertise implicitly and feel that I am getting the best eye care possible. I really appreciate that Dr. Nichols is here serving our community!

I can highly recommend Boulder Eye Surgeons. Dr. Cuevas did my cataract surgery 6 months ago and I have not had any problems. The office is staffed by many professionals who are eager to help you.

Very clean facility and thorough exam. Clinician and Doctor spent time with me to explain things I needed to know.

I had a very frustrating experience with this place. The cataract surgery went okay, but I developed double vision immediately after. It was blamed on another health condition I have by my opthalmologist, instead of the surgery. I spent several wasted months trying to resolve this issue instead of getting a proper diagnosis. In addition, It turned I had retinal problems and scar tissue behind the new lens. Further, I learned later from another doctor that the lenses that were recommended for me in the cataract surgery and that cost me nearly $6,000 were ones that should never be prescribed for people with mobility issues.

I ended up going to a different surgeon to fix my retina than the partner in this practice, who only backed up the cataract surgeon. It took me nearly a year to find out that I could have gotten a pair of glasses to fix my double vision problems almost immediately. These guys never bothered to tell me it was an option! I would have been HAPPY if they'd just owned up to it and given me a pair of glasses that fixed the problem instead of putting me through hell for a year.

I do NOT recommend them.

Dr. Keller is a wonderful eye surgeon. He really puts his patients at ease.

Hands down, the BEST opthamologists around! Dr. Brian Nichols did my cataract surgery as well as my follow up laser surgery. An amazing difference in my world, now without glasses. He advised me all the way through the process, and I felt comfortable and informed. He also has managed my family's eyesight, including pediatric eyesight issues with a child who has had glasses since she was toddler. She feels her eyesight is being managed very well into her adulthood. Thanks to Boulder Eye Surgeons for the FANTASTIC care!

Can't say enough good things about Boulder Eye Surgeons. My cataracts got bad enough to be removed very quickly and my optometrist referred me to BES, Dr. Cuevas, specifically. I got an appt quickly and had the fist cataract removed (also) quickly. Then covid happened my 2d cat. removal was cancelled; but, rescheduled the same week as the new facility opened. Surgery went w/o a hitch. Thank you BES and Dr. Cuevas.

Glad to add my name to those endorsing this practice. While I'm a bit put off by the new wave of medical practices soliciting reviews, I'm willing to do it in this case because I believe anyone would benefit from becoming a patient of Dr. Nichols. Well trained techs and staff, too.

My experience at Boulder Eye Surgeons was indeed excellent. Dr. Nichols and his entire staff were always patient, protective, informative, and reassuring. The options for my cataract surgery were carefully explained and expertly executed. The joy of seeing clearly cannot be overstated. I remain so grateful that I was referred to Boulder Eye Surgeons and Dr. Nichols.

Dr. Cuevas did my cataract surgery 3 days ago. . I am so pleased with the results thus far. I was well cared for by the nurses during the pre and post process and during the surgery. I appreciate the personal care I received and the professionalism by all. Having been a nurse for 43 years, I am acutely aware of the quality of care. The organization by the schedulers and the reception in the office both before and after surgery were top notch. I am so glad I chose this group and very pleased to be a patient of Dr. Cuevas. I am confident the process for the second eye will be every bit as positive as this one.

When I moved to Boulder from Maryland, which was necessitated by a stroke, my sister made an appointment for me to see a physician at Boulder Eye Surgeons because the stroke had affected my vision. I have been very pleased with the care Dr. Nichols has given me and would recommend him to anyone who might need an ophthomologist.

Dr. Cuevas was able to quickly and accurately diagnose my problem with my left eye after I was referred to him by my regular optometrist. Within 24 hours, I felt much better and finally improved after a week of suffering severe pain and loss of vision.

I was a patient here for about 8 years because I have very bad eyes and needed above average expertise. I stopped going to Boulder Eye Surgeons last year after so many service-related mistakes and unprofessional behavior that I determined that the expertise was not worth it. I will mention only two - the most recent.

I went in for an exam in July, 2 months earlier than necessary, because my husband and I were going to Africa for our 25th anniversary and I wanted a new pair of glasses and new contacts with fully up-to-date prescriptions. I realized during the appointment that it was unlikely I would get the contacts in time for our trip because I have specialized contacts that take minimally 2 weeks, but usually more like 3 weeks, to obtain. However, my glasses were supposed to be done. I received a call that my glasses were ready, so I went in to get them, but the transitional tint that was supposed to be added had not been added, so they had to be sent back and therefore I didn't have them before our trip. I never received a call that the contacts were in, but upon returning from our trip, I still didn't have notification that they were in, so I called. The receptionist said yes they were in and had been in for weeks, but no one had called me. So I could have had new contacts before our trip, but no one let me know that.

The year following, I went in for my yearly exam and realized a couple weeks later when I started to expect a call that my contacts would be in that I had not updated the office with our new phone number. I called to give them the new number and was told the contacts had not come in yet. I called a couple weeks later and again was told they weren't in. Finally, after 6 weeks, I asked what was taking so long and was told that OOOPS, they were never ordered. I asked to speak with Dr. Nichols to complain. He told me that I should have asked for the contact specialist named Nicole because she was the one dealing with my special lenses. I told him I had never asked for a specific contact person before and he subsequently admitted she had been hired since the last time I had been in, but made no apology for the fiasco. In fact, he still felt it was my fault that I didn't know the new procedure in his office and blamed me. That was the last time I dealt with the Boulder Eye Surgeons.

I will also add that I noticed an almost 100% turnover in office personnel each year I went in. This does not indicate a high possibility of efficiency or service. I also felt that, since I was just a lowly teacher, I should not have any opinion or rights, regardless of the fact that I was paying LOTS of money for the contacts I needed.

Not a place I would ever recommend to anyone.

I have had two positive experiences with Boulder Eye Surgeons: last year, with Dr. Gustav and this year with Dr. Keller. Both were excellent. The staff is professional and helpful. I have been very impressed.

I go to Dr Gustave for a corneal dystrophy condition and I am very pleased with his patient focus. He listens as well as provides advice. I also used the optometry service for glasses and I think they were the best that I've ever used. I would highly recommend Dr Gustave for treatment of normal as well as complex eye issues.

I had a very professional experience at this clinic. The doctor and his assistant were most helpful. They had a very caring attitude and answered all my questions. I was provided with a thorough exam. I would recommend this location in a heartbeat.

I have been seeing Dr. Keller for about ten years. He is excellent.

Basically my best medical experience in any category -- but for sure within eye care -- and cataract diagnosis and surgery. From evaluations to pre-op preparations -- to day-of-surgery -- to after-care every step and expectation was carefully laid out and followed. Dr. Keller and his staff were clear, precise, informative, and patient-oriented. Best of all was the outcome -- vastly improved my vision -- no complications -- and speedy recovery! Can't say enough good things about Boulder Eye Surgeons. Highly professional staff, at all levels. From the receptionist, office staff, and of course the surgeons; they all treat you exceptionally well. REALLY listen to you; and deal with your issues in a prompt and efficient manner. No BS: just what you need and great follow-up. I travel from Breckenridge to Boulder (100+ miles) so I can have such talented people deal with my eyes. That should tell you how much I respect and trust this office.

Really long waits. Every time I go there I wait for 45 to an hour to see the Dr. Communication with the staff is hit or miss. Sometimes they are kind and helpful, but I've had a few encounters where the staff was completely unhelpful and rude. Won't be going back there again.

Cataract surgery in left eye to be followed by right eye next week. All went well and good care and follow up. I'm posting again after right eye was done by Dr. Keller. I am seeing really well. I had one eye with near vision and one with far vision. My brain has adjusted to and really don't need glasses now, but have some for night driving.

The drs. at Boulder eye Surgeons were very professional and trustworthy I would never doubt their prognosis, and help with any problem.

I can not overstate what a wonderful service Boulder Eye Surgeons provided to myself and my wife recently. I was getting my usual glaucoma testing and it was as efficient as usual when my wife suffered a minor but difficult medical crisis associated with her Parkinson's disease. i am a Graves Disease patient of Dr Nichols having trouble with bulging eyes, double vision and very dry eyes. I was headed to surgery when Dr. Nichols started me on an experimental trial and not only did we cancel surgery, my eyes went back to their former good state. It's been years and I am still on those medications and doing quite well. I no longer look like a character out of StarTrek and credit Dr Nichols to saving my vision. Dr Gustave also cleared up my severe dry eye condition and performed a minor cosmetic surgery. I highly recommend Dr Gustave and Dr Nichols.

cannot say enough good about the personnel at the Boulder Eye Surgeons. With the cataract surgery on the left eye was very happy but not so much on the right eye which is still not as good as the left.

When I needed help with a recent eye emergency, Boulder Eye Surgeons were there for me. My primary eye doctor from a different clinic didn't see the need for the emergency and wouldn't see me until the next day. Thank goodness for Dr. Gustave and his staff for taking care of a situation that could have ended badly for me. Everyone here is so caring and very professional. This is now my new eye clinic!

I have seen both Dr. Keller and Dr. Nichols. If you have a choice, see Dr. Keller. The are both VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. But Dr. Keller is also kind and treats you with respect. Dr. Nichols is extremely intelligent but he definitely knows it and lets you know it. Still, I would trust him with my surgery because I can see he has the ability to do so. I've had some problems with calling them but overall they are a friendly bunch of folks and I've always had great results with my eye care, contacts, billing, and appointments. They're a keeper!

I have been very pleased with the care I've received from Dr. Keller for glaucoma. After an unsuccessful laser trabeculoplasty and cycling through various combinations of eye drops prescribed by my former ophthalmologist, some of which were quite irritating, I landed with Dr. Keller. Although he is not a glaucoma specialist, he prescribed a drop combination that is keeping my eye pressures within an acceptable range without as much irritation or dryness. I've found him to be professional and personable. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice.

Dr Keller did cataract surgery on both of my eyes and follow-up care on both eyes as needed. I found his care excellent and would recommend him and Boulder Eye Surgeons to anyone without reservations.

Dr. Nichols is great. He did my cataract surgery about 5 years ago, and he did an excellent job. Explained all the options to me.

These doctors are unethical capitalists. I have a severe eye disease that could be treated if they would accept my insurance. They refuse to accept insurance so they can profit from charging the patient the full rate for the procedure. A procedure that is very costly to the patient. This facility is in business to profit from people who are suffering and desperate to find relief. I was told if I can not afford the procedure I should contact First Bank to take out a line of credit in order to get a procedure that could be covered under my insurance. Healthcare is expensive enough and these profit seeking doctors do not put their patients care first. Their moral and ethical values are deplorable.

Dr. Keller is the best! Two cataract operations and non pain and great vision restored.

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Cuevas at Boulder Eye Surgeons. Because I work at Boulder Community Hospital, his office is extremely convenient for me, as they are in our hospital. The staff was very kind and professional and Dr. Cuevas was thorough with my examination.

This office has the best eye surgeons. They are professionals. They make you feel very comfortable and are honest and open. I would never trust any other surgeons.

Appointment was on time, at 4:00 pm no less, staff was professional, Dr. Keller always takes time to talk and understand. I had no problem that needed to be addressed at this time, but will return when I need to.

This December Dr/ Keller removed cataracts from my eyes and gave me the best Christmas present I have ever had--wonderfully improved eyesight! I have always loved to play the piano, but in recent years seeing the notes was getting harder and harder,. Thanks to him I am playing easily again, can read menus in restaurants and the newspaper in indoor lighting without a magnifying glass, which I have not been able to do for a couple of years. He was very kind and encouraging during surgery, which went amazingly quickly and painlessly. His staff was very kind, cheerful, helpful, and patient. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Keller and his group to anyone needing eye surgery of any kind.

Over many years I have always had complete confidence in Dr. Keller and his approach and recommendations regarding issues relating to my eyes. Their diagnostic equipment is first class in detecting potentially serious issues. The front office staff are always warm, friendly and very professional.

My experience with Boulder Eye Surgeons has been mostly with Dr. Nichols who performed cataract surgery on both eyes with a quick laser correction the following year. They are so vital to me that I will only go to Dr. Donald Keller at Boulder Eye Surgeons conveniently located on the main Boulder Community Hospital campus on Arapahoe just off Foothills. I've been going to their office for over 10 years, the front desk people are welcoming and knowledgeable and help with whatever insurance needs you have. The tech is wonderful in examining my eyes to see if my vision has changed and what revised prescription to go with. Dr. Keller is absolutely the best at viewing and diagnosing anything going on that should be addressed.
