The book selection is good, the chocolate selection is even better.
The book selection is good, the chocolate selection is even better.
I absolutely love this bookstore. There are so many titles on any topic and other unique items I haven t seen anywhere else. I love the layout of the store with so many levels and things to see and read at every turn. Staff are friendly and helpful too!
The books there were amazing! Not only did they have books, they had small little things
A fun local store with new and used books mixed together. They have a number of "hidden" areas as you explore all the different floors of this old building. Prices are reasonable and they have a loyalty program that costs a bit but pays back if you regularly buy more than $100 of books per year.
Awesome bookstore! Seems like it may have been an old hotel or other building. Many different rooms stacked with books, different genres for different rooms. Extensive collection on three floors.
This has always been a favorite store of mine. They have unique categories and a plethora of good choices. I was in there yesterday and forgot my card in the machine, the really nice gentleman working the register ran after me for half a block to make sure I got it back. Amazing store. Great employees. Thanks for everything!
So much fun with so many levels of book sections. Who knew there were still old-school book stores out there?! There are multiple levels, all fully stocked with a great selection of pretty much everything. It's like a blast from the past, pre-amazon era awesomeness. I'd recommend going and finding a book, just to keep this piece of history alive.
Lovely place! I found the book that I am looking for and also spent more time to discover. Particularly staff picks and recommendation notes we're very helpful.
Great book store to browse around. Full of little corners and rooms to get lost in.
Wonderful, helpful staff; eclectic selection of books, very boulder, and a delight every time. The only downside is I never have a enough money for all the books! There are so many good options. :) must see if you're visiting town.
Excellent selection and friendly staff. A great place to find works by local authors. Always clean, well kept and well organized. Besides being helpful and friendly staff are also well-informed and provide good recommendations.
Great kids section.
Street cred has slightly faded due to lack of pretentiousness in sales people. A dash of condescension could go a long way towards getting their propers in the book-slanging community of Boulder, which we all know goes hard.
A little pricey, but what do you expect for Boulder. Anyway, awesome staff and good selection.
It is such a wonderful treat these days to spend time in a great bookstore. This store is just a pleasure to wonder around with something of interest to attract one's attention at every turn and various rooms on different levels to become lost in. Boulderites love the place and it's a must-do for visitors.
Lovely, bright and airy, though the Art and Architecture sections are less extensive than I'd have liked. Cam out with some beautiful books, though would have been pricier than buying back home in UK had they not been on sale. Staff friendly and helpful.
A full-service, independent bookstore. I could live here.
One of my favorite bookstores of all time. I buy all my books here, and spend hours getting lost on all the different levels (of which there are about 7 upstairs, and the downstairs of the upstairs, and the ballroom...) The Boulder Book Store might be my favorite thing about Boulder, honestly. Go here.
A must-visit Boulder landmark, the Boulder Book Store is a magical retail shop chock-full with best-sellers, adventure books, journals, magazines, classics, art books, obscure texts and so much more. Perfect for perusing after dinner (and before dessert) on Pearl Street, the store and its Gryffindor Tower-vibe is an experience in and of itself. Make sure to check out the many book talks that occur in the second floor of the building they are transformative. The staff picks are particularly exceptional.
Bonus: Boulder Book Store also has one of the best fancy chocolate bar selections in town it's right by the register, and don't leave without purchasing at least one delicious bar.
Lots of variety ... rich supply of titles: world view perspectives, liberal materials, holistic stuff, kid titles, spanish titles and brain challenges for all ages, but especially kids.
The best book store. It's super easy to get lost, considering there are three floors, but I'm pretty sure you could find literally any book you wanted here. Love that they have used books as well!
Great selection and really cool building but they let in so many people social distancing wasn t really possible.
Great staff and reading recommendations - live browsing and spending time here, goes for my whole family.
The Boulder Bookstore is one of the reasons why I feel lucky to live in Boulder. Independent bookstores like this are a rarity. I really miss the cafe though.
Giant 3 story local bookstore offering wide selection of books, events, and other items.
Diverse, handpicked selection of rotating boutique chocolate
Nothing beats a locally owned bookstore. I could spend hours in this place, I've only not found the book I was looking for once and when I asked the staff about it, they confirmed they did not have the title in stock but would be happy to order it for me. They even recommended something else by another author that they thought I might like.
A well set-up bookstore, however parking was odd. It seemed that street parking was fare-based but the deck was not. Either way, it took much longer than it should have to park to go to this one shop. I purchased a clearance book for $4. Overall, prices seemed a little high on some of the other discounted books, but a clean operation otherwise.
Classic Boulder Book Store on the iconic Pearl Street.
Neat little bookstore. All the employees were friendly and selling books was an easy process
Tons of books, make sure to check out all three floors!
So many books! This was like a mini Powell's (Portland, OR bookstore). Lots of selection and plenty of used books.
Purchased a child's sleeved book with lego toy while on vacation. We opened it at the hotel to find only the toy the book was missing. We had seen some with the toy missing. There seemed a problem with items missing. Unfortunate..
This place is amazing! The sections are so well curated, you could easily spend all day here.
Very good selection of books. Large store. Was crowded but is to be expected on a weekend
Epic book shop. Huge range of books, and informed staff recommendations. Many trinkets, toys and other items here too.
Beautiful traditional bookstore that is comfortable and cozy. Be sure to visit upstairs to see the old ballroom which is now lined with bookcases, but is often used for events. Staff are helpful and their recommendations always spot on.
Great place to go if you enjoy reading books or just like looking at pictures
I really like this library. The layout inside is very spacious and it has an ample variety of books. They have an indoor conn that acts as a bridge, a cafe is in it so there's a lovely view to the river. They have free parking all day during the weekends and it's conveniently next to Central Park.
I love this iconic place. It s got the books, atmosphere and the folks! And I love the upstairs where Naropa Institute was first housed!
Quaint, cute, vibrant bookshop. Lots of book selections and categories to choose from. You could easily pick up a bestseller or find something a little less know or older. Cool place!
We happened upon this bookstore while walking the quaint shops of Pearl Street. It truly surprised us as we went in and found a beautiful, local bookstore in the most fitting historic setting! Upon entry, you are greeted by an associate who clearly explains the guidelines that are being taken by the store in relation to COVID-19 - they even do a temperature screening before you are allowed to enter. THANK YOU to this wonderful store for keeping your community safe!
My wife loves book stores, so she made a beeline here when she saw it. It was impressively large also. They had a great flow to the store and terrific organization. There are multiple levels, so take your time. One thing my wife especially loves was the fact that they had a Recently Used book section.
Great, especially mid-grade children's books by author Tara Dairman. Always lots of food and ethnic food in her "Stars" series and "The Great Hibernation."
This place was awesome and huge! It was also very crowded, but that might have also had to do with it being the weekend before Christmas.
Awesome bookstore to go to in a world in which they are disappearing. There are 3 stories of books to get your 'read on.' They have a nice selection to peruse through, even used books. This place has a very nice touch, even the stairs has nice little hardware touches. The staff there are extremely knowledgeable, super helpful. So if you're walking by, go inside and check them out, buy something and read. Enjoy.
Amazing selection in this huge laberynth or books.
Every time I go in this great bookstore, I end up with a book, or snack or some thing else they sell in the store. Fantastic, helpful staff, a curated, yet big selection of items and books and an awesome space are just the start of an amazing experience in there. I know this bookstore is great as my friend who doesn't like books and bookstores went away with two books and is a member of the store!
A true local treasure and landmark that represents the community with wide latitude and energy. It's a pleasure to be inside this store.
Awesome bookstore! Many unique titles! I always make a point to stop here when in the area!
A great bookstore, their children's selection is among the best I have seen.
Gorgeous bookstore. Insisting on toddlers wearing masks is nonsensical.
Always so much to look at & little hidden treasures everywhere.
Huge selection of books. Clean and quiet atmosphere.
The sales cart out front always gets me. One of my favorite places on Pearl Street.
I usually walk out with a book I didn't mean to fall in love with.
Good store, feels like a bookstore should feel. Would recommend highly
Best bookstore in town with a whole wall of great recommendations.
Giant collection of real books, and then nice local gifts, blank journals, toys, amazing collection of single origin craft chocolate. Go for the chocolate if nothing else, but a book would go well with something this decadent.
Really great vibe, very cozy! Their COVID set up is ok. They've done what they can for how right the aisles are. I wouldn't go in if there are more than a few people milling about though, there just isn't much space no matter how good everything else they do is.
Books! I don't read books anymore but I know a good bookstore when I see one. I know a good record store when I see one too but I haven't seen one of those for a while.
Always a great book store, helpful staff, great suggestions, large selection. It's historic and it definitely feels that way. They have good covid precautions. They also have school prerequisite books for classes. Definitely would recommend a visit, even if just browsing.
This bookstore is always a favorite stop when we go to Boulder. You can find something for everyone here. My favorite area is the poetry section, plenty of good finds. They also have a great variety of unusual chocolate bars which is also a personal favorite. Lots of deals on good books as well.
Love being in this maze of books. The building is worth stopping in.
Love this bookstore. 3 levels of awesomeness.
Went in to just look around and left with a bag full of books.
They got a great selection of used and new books. The only downside is it is a bit pricey. Cheaper to go to B&N.
A quaint multi level book store with and every book you could want! A Great Children's section too!!
In a world where bookstores are becoming more obsolete, Boulder Book Store is like an oasis in the desert. This store has charm. The staff is friendly and helpful. The selection is fantastic. I love stopping in whenever I'm in Boulder.
Great place for gift ideas. Can get lost in here for hours!
Beautiful, much bigger than expected. I'd love to hang out and study here once the pandemic is over
Has the most helpful employees out of any book store I've been to. This place is awesome, could easily get lost in it's multiple levels. If you're on Pearl Street then you have to check it out
What a great local bookstore right on Pearl Street! Such fun maze-like bookstore with great atmosphere and great selection. No more coffee shop, though, just books.
