Great hotel, great convention space. I attended a JSA convention here, the "small rooms" are spacious, the acomidations are great. The Starbucks in the lobby was a plus for long nights, and the hotel's overall location was great.

We stayed here 3 nights: April 3-5, 2014. The FIRE ALARM went off at 2:30 AM AND 3:45 AM the night of 4/4. It went off AGAIN the following night at 12:45 AM. We were ordered to evacuate our rooms...using the stairways...for each alarm. We were on the 11th floor. The young man at the reception desk seemed to think these incidents were normal...as the building was constructed in the 1920's

Stay here only if you enjoy LOTS of night-time stair exercising while listening to loud alarms.

The Grand Ballroom is so gorgeous! We came for a holiday party and had a fantastic time. The Chefs prepared the best food for kids, and it was so easy to check in and out. 10/10 would come here again.

My only complaint is that the WiFi isn't free. Otherwise, the hotel is quaint with friendly helpful staff. There's a gift shop, a Starbucks and a restaurant/bar. Location is close to the Boston Common and a Subway stop.

No heat in the place, remodeled rooms were nice, spacious but don't stay in the cheaper "cozy" rooms. They are very tiny.. Staff will try to upsell to a regular room but seems worth it!

Would not recommend this place over priced. So I get my room there is what appears to be food crumbs everywhere. When I go in to the bathroom there is smashed lipstick on the floor and in the bottom of the tub.
The valet is terrible waited 2 hours to get my vehicle along with the 20+ people standing outside waiting just as long. Valet has misplaced multiple sets of keys and just can t seem to get it together.

If you want a place to eat their food is great. You want a place to stay go somewhere else.

I did contact management but it appears they are to busy to contact me back been over a week.

We stayed at the Park Plaza on New Years Eve. The whole room, with a large queen bed, including the bathroom was not more than 100 square feet. We are slender people Whatever was pasting the pieces of wood together to make a bathroom door was peeling off, revealing a patchwork of wood. We are slender people, I am quite petite. The shower was not big enough for one of us. At least the shower curtain could have bowed out, so that it wasn't touching you on every turn. If you're going to stay there, don't get fooled into thinking you're staying in a superior queen

I had a great experience here. We arrived from Manhattan after a long druve and Nick and Anu at the front desk really helped make us feel comfortable. They have us a choice in the bed we wanted in the room and we left with our room keys very satisfied and already impressed. Usually such nice upscale hotels have very snobby people at the front desk but they were great. Our room doesn't have a view and not much natural light but it does the job for us. The hotel is lively and clean. Would recommend.

Though the hotel looks nice and has history, it is annoying to keep asking for services which are simply there in any other hotel in the world. I needed to ask for bottles of water couple of times a day. Simply put some at my door and keep them coming. Same for shaving set and teeth paste. Hotel should be a place where for your good money you get good service, without begging for it

Had the best engagement experience. All staff were friendly and helpful. Above all else, the housekeeping manager did a exceptional job making my engagement day magical. You can really tell the staff cares and wants to give you an experience of a lifetime!

Very affordable stay. The hotel itself was very beautiful walking in, clean and modern looking. We stayed in a king size room, at a very strange odor but thought it might have been the new carpets. Also no fan in bathroom. Very close to multiple restaurants. Actually hotel restaurants way overpriced.

Front desk not very welcoming. Received a hassle wanting to request a new clean room... instead of the one originally received. Was told was getting a free Overpriced breakfast and at checking out they charge me for it. Not wanting to get upset I just paid.
Please monitor the management at this hotel.
Front desk was not helpful at the end. Breakfast is way way overpriced from what we received : almost $30 for simple breakfast ... the attention received while st breakfast was not worth it paying the almost $30 dollars. Not a PLEASANT STAY

If you want a classy hotel in the heart of the city, this is the one for you. It is located 2 steps from the Boston Public Garden. In the city center.
The room rate is high but standard for the area.
The price of parking is very high. But we have good service.
The room itself was quite small. It matched what I saw in the photo.
However, I wanted to have a "view" of Boston but it was missed. I believed by the photo of the site that the view would be splendid. The window overlooked the interior of the building, so on brick and a piece of roof. This is why I did not give a perfect rating.
In the building, there is a Starbuck. Very convenient.
There is also a lovely Irish pub (not owned by the hotel).
But since the hotel is in the city center, you are spoiled for choice for food and drink.
The hotel restaurant is upscale and quite expensive.
There is a very well thought out 'lounge' in the lobby. Very relaxed.
I read some comments that the hotel lobby was like a train station because of the noise. The lobby is not noisier than any other hotel of this type.
The room is very clean.

Deluxe King room was spacious with beautiful, large shower. We were on 15th floor, which still had traffic noise. Bring a white noise machine, but otherwise a great hotel, especially for the mid-week rate we got.

This hotel is trying to look like something that it isn't. Everything costs extra here (even a 2 star inn had free WiFi for its guests unlike this hotel) and their interior is partly of bad quality. The worst was a blow drier bursting apart while in use (!) which of course is very dangerous. Would not recommend a stay here, as our previous hotels have been a much more pleasant experience.

I stayed here from Friday 2/21 to 2/24 for Anthro New England. I love staying at this hotel for it's great location in the city. The staff is professional and polite. Rooms are a little small but that's not a point against the hotel, just expect smaller than normal rooms. The rest of the hotel is beautiful and classy, perfectly matching the con's theme this year (The Roaring 2020s).

I'd recommend the Park Plaza to future convention seekers and non convention guests for a comfortable stay in Boston.

This hotel was not equipped for a convention. Hotel security was rude and entirely unqualified to handle anything. Our room was issued a noise complaint and after doing investigating as to why we were told a noise complaint had been made in the hallway so they stood outside the hall for 20 minutes before picking a door to file the complaint too.

The staff was mostly friendly but otherwise we ran into issues where staff wouldn t finish helping us with moving things unless tipped to complete the service.

The room itself was cramped and toilet kept clogging. It felt like I had to sit on a low stool to use the bathroom.

The price nightly compared to the service wasn t worth it. Find somewhere else, convention or otherwise. It felt like a 2 star hotl stay, not a 4 star in the middle of historic Boston.

I absolutely loved the hotel: I got a great room (big, clean, comfortable and quiet), with great service plus an excellent price. Perfect location, with the subway just meters away from the main door.

The only cons I've had: 1) to pay for wifi in the room. That's ridiculous these days. 2) In my room , there were no cell phone signal (at least for T-Mobile...)

The hotel itself was very nice, the room was clean and the staff polite. However, the hotel did not inform me of the maintenance they had scheduled that would leave my room with out power for 4 hours which was inconsiderate. Also, during the 4 hours without power, the fire alarm went out and the entire hotel had to get up at 2 am in the morning and evacuate. They never apologized for the inconvenience and never offered us anything complimentary .And then house keeping walked into the room at 9 AM! Over all I was disappointed, I did not enjoy my stay and I won't be returning any time soon. It was not the experience I paid for.

Nice and well located middle class hotel. Lobby and public rooms at a high level, rooms on the bad side and poorly isolated by European standards. Due to a good price-performance ratio certainly a place to stay in Boston.

Not upscale past the lobby, and the lobby is average. Rooms are EXTREMELY small and without a desk, without drawers or anywhere to put clothes that don't hang. Plan on living out if your suitcase. There's barely enough room on the bathroom shelf for a toothbrush.
T hey charge a non-trivial amount extra for internet, daily. That's right, a hotel trick from the ghetto. Internet wull cost you extra. Don't even get me started on the parking rate. No problem with the people here, so far, but the management decisions should bury this place. Unfortunately they have location so they will continue to get away with the ruse of being special, or worth it. This place is mid-grade at best.
