Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Only negative was the super small fridge.

You can view this location from the freeway. Decided to come for the buffet and somehow got food poisoning.
Rooms are quiet and clean. Pool is warm and nice. Lots of food and entertainment options nearby. My only complaint is that smoking is allowed in the hotel still so the lobby stinks bad enough that just walking through it made my shirt smell like cigarette smoke, even the next day.
This was awesome, the atmosphere and competitive gaming scene would rival even the most intense fortnite matches.
We went for the BBQ buffet for 7.77 a person with players card. The food was good and sevice was great. We like Boomtown because it is not busy like other casinos in town. We I'll go back
The buffet is cheap on Thursdays - 5.55 with a players card.
Great place for me and my wife to get away for the weekend.
Although the rooms were comped you would think the service would be consistent, we asked for extra blankets Friday night and after an hour figured they weren't coming. Saturday morning I stopped at the front desk and asked for a couple blankets and let them know the tub drained slow. While showering there would be about 2 inches of standing water.
My Wife and I Go to Boomtown almost every Thursday, for their $7.77 Prime Rib Buffet (we're Vegetarian) but there's a lot of good options. I also love to play keno when I'm there. We've stayed in the Hotel and always enjoy our visits to Boomtown.
We always visit for a bit and it's always enjoyable
I attended a conference during my stay at Boom Town. I am originally from Arkansas and flew from there to here. I took a taxi from the air port to the hotel and paid a hefty 50 dollars for the 15 minute ride. Once here you are stuck unless you have a car or are willing to pay a 100 dollar round trip. No shuttles no busses. The rooms are a nice size if being dated doesn't bother you. The Lobster buffet was awful! The best thing may have been the tea. If it weren't for the company I have while on the trip I would have had an awful experience at Boom Town as there are many better options near by. I am willing to put forth the extra money next time.
We had a good time. We just went for food and drinks. Nothing special. We'll go again sometime soon.
Very nice motel. But' the gentleman at the front desk could of been more helpful in directing us to our room. We ate at mels diner. Very good. The waitress was very polite and efficient. We would eat there again. All in all except for having to walk a mile to our car, Boomtown is a nice place to stay. We recommend it.
Booked far in advance but upon arrival the girl said they were all booked up for the weekend (I arrived on a Thursday) so I d have to get a handicap accessible room. Thought that meant it would be a big room, but not the case. We are next to a loud elevator, window looks out onto the indoor pool with screaming kids. Who brings kids to casinos? Rude. Also the floors and walls are paper thin I could hear the elephant ballet upstairs at 6am every day, not to mention the shaking of the walls every time elephant family flushed the toilet. The shower faucet requires hulk super strength to turn on and sounds like you re opening the Hoover dam. Not sure why I even bothered booking in advance because I got the shittiest room in all of Boomtown anyway !
Guess I would ve got a better room if I was I was a casino reward member or an Asian tourist. Seems like they only care about the quality of your stay if you have a proven record of pumping money into their slots. Boomtown is a bust.
Oh yea, and the sheets were dirty even after we requested housekeeping to change the linens. Plus blood smeared across the bathtub. Why.
They actually offer their high quality linens for purchase, LOLOL NO THX.
On the bright side, I can t wait to go back to work on Monday.
The Steak House "Prime Rib" was the BEST ever, anywhere!!! Your blackjack dealers are the most friendly people of any casino that I have ever been in. I'm 67 and have been in a lot of gambling establishments.
I'm traveling through the area and I see signs that say "first $25 on us!" But when I asked about it, the lady at the front desk said I had to play$25 and lose $25, then they would give me $25.... Such false advertising. Very disappointed.
Visited the games and arcade area with my two younger cousins in the way back from a trip to Reno. Only a handful of games, many broken, most for much younger kids or were cell phone games. Ended up mostly playing air hockey, pool, and tried the indoor bowling lanes
The only restaurant open was Mels diner, the slots are REAL tight.the waitress acted mad if you didn't tip them and didn't come back around.
We were just checking this place out as we've driven past often, but only stopped at the big Chevron for gas. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean and welcoming the facility is. The lobby was bright and clean, the casino was okay....clean and not to smokey.....which was nice. We ate at Mel's and had a good meal. We spent some time in the arcade and played a few games. We will return.
Bomb food special the all you can eat lobster!!! Service is great and it's very clean
It was clean and the staff was friendly and took great efforts to make guests feel comfortable. However, avoid the buffet at all costs. The selection of food has been budgeted out by the worst management.
The staff preparing the food had the worse morale from obvious lack of leadership in management .
Foods were not taken care of the lack of basic safety best practices, you could tell that they just showed up for a job do their hours and leave.
The cooks personal appearance and simple grooming spoke words.
Boomtown was once a great buffet now it is an abysmal and dangerous place.
When you screw up a salad bad, well that speaks for what occurred.
This best western is frisf class hotel employees are some of best I had the plasure to deal with. Nice Stay will stay at best western in the future
Very nice rooms, great price, and a well designed casino that IS very easy to navigate.
We had the best time we don't need to go to reno just go to boomtown
We stayed on the 3rd floor. We have a emotional support animal and they consistently harrassed us about why he was there and if he had signed papers. The rooms were not ventilated well and they stunk like smoke. They charged me 175.00 a night and no dressing table, mirror and blow dryer. Very overpriced. They saw us coming. Street Vibrations. Will never stay there again.
Very Good!
Very comfortable, we loved it. We cant wait to do it again.
The food and service was great but I wish there was an area for non smokers to protect myself from cancer as I am an anti smoker
We stay here 3 to 4 times per year and are always happy. Clean rooms, minI fridge, dining options and the arcade. So happy the indoor pool is finally open. Waited too long for that (over 6 years) but outdoor option is ok in summer. Love Boomtown!!!!!
A great place to visit or stay the night. A small casino with a variety of restaurants
I will rate 5 stars when you :
1) install a water softener in the hotel.
2) change the soft mattress for some more firm.
3) remove or relocate the old lady in the lobby- check in area.
Decent price. Live music was good. All around relaxing.
Came on Labor Day weekend for the Buffet. Be sure to sign up for the gamblers card or the buffet is 12.99 not 8.88. I had to wait a day or two for finishing this review because I'm sure I had steam coming out of my ears at the time. We were served by Soon, she was really sweet and did good by us so no complaints there. The food was ok, the kids liked it and there was a good variety for everyone. The hostessing and public relations needs improvement, there are just too many good restaurants out there for us to come back for more of this nonsense.
Boomtown is still a good stop ,before and after going to downtown Reno.
Annie provided great service and very nice.
Great service and wonderful rooms. Even had places to eat inside the motel which saved time.
The smell of cigarette smoke drove me away immediately
When we were trying to check in there was a problem which took a long time to check in. Someone did not check someone's I'd and so they were in my room and we were very delayed in getting the room. We went to the pool and almost got locked into the stairwell, at the pool no towels and The room was to small. Never will I stay again at this hotel.
This is my home away from home. This room has been updated its one of the suites and it's very clean.
It was good but I did have to make 3 trips to the front desk just to try and get in our room the door keys were not working
Great stay had a few minor issues but the great staff handled it right away. I won't eat at the buffet again over priced and little variety and even less flavor and barely hot.
This review is for their buffet only 'cause I couldn't find their buffet listed in google map separately.
This buffet is the worst buffet I ever had. Not because I paid $86 dollar for two people. I don't understand why there was even a long line. I guess they were just like me, a first time visitor to Reno and never ate at this place before.
They charged a premium price because they provide unlimited lobster. But don't be lured by that, as the lobster is overcooked and doesn't taste fresh (I guess that's why they were overcooked). The size of the lobsters is really small (around 1lb) and would cost $5-$8 in any supermarket.
Other than lobsters, the options for food are very limited. Only 9~12 dishes. There is no prime rib. The beef tri-tips are really hard to chew. The only food I liked is Chow-mein. I think any regular buffet which charges around $10~$15 has more and better choices.
I will never go back to this place.
Where to start the pro.
Mel's diner which is awesome and worth every penny.
The hotel was horrible. Didn't do maid service correctly once. The front desk didn't care about issues. We should have left after two nights. Be aware they charge an extra $75 per room per reservation as a deposit on top of the actual room charge. I won't bore you with details but just run away from here. The casino floor staff is even worse. The machine's are fun and for the most part keep you playing.
Come for Mel's diner otherwise avoid it.
Room was clean with a good size bathroom. The casino is nice with lots of extras like bingo for free play. The keno workers are very helpful and pleasant
It's very friendly. If you are visiting Reno you must stop in and check out BoomTown.
Boomtown is a nice resort with a beautiful hotel nice rooms but if you want internet or if you want pay-per-view TV or movies available to watch while you're staying there in the evenings they're not available the casino sucks the games are wired too hard, if you spend a lot of money real quick you don't get any free play or any any bonuses or any comps of any kind and the staff don't really give a s*** whether you have a good time or not.
Jonathan Berggren a.k.a. Jay Cash/Scarface. This casino is the most generous casino around. Trust me. This casino is literally the best casino around. By all means. Gamble here...Thank you Boomtown for your generosity. I'll definitely be coming back here...Blessed be my friends.
Try the all you can eat lobster buffet. Learn how to eat whole lobster before you go.
Just stopped in for a bloody mary on our way home. Place seems depressing
We were at a birthday party in the fun center. Wide variety of games and some rides for the kids. A few games were out of order and a bit dirty but we enjoyed the rest. Great customer service, my son lost his card with his points and they replaced it, also refunded when a game didn't work.
Casino floor was very clean, nice, and had good payouts on the video poker machines. Good layout and design all around.
Disappointing. Buffet closed Monday Tuesday andWand Wednesday. Steakhouse closed Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. Only dinner open. Place is isolated, 10 miles from Reno. Tuesday rate is 15 percent more than Mondays. We moved on after one night.
Their service isn't the best and could use some help. Some of the staff come off as rude.
Mel's Diner advertises free ice cream on your birthday. Our 2-hour trip was for a birthday, but because we were here one day different, they declined the offering. Not a big deal, but think about it. There is a one in seven chance anyone will ever qualify.
The hotel is nice. Less smoke than in most casinos. Slots aren't loose, but at least we could play for a little while.
One of the nicest Casino Hotel setups I've stayed at.
We love to eat at the Mel's diner here! There is a wonderful variety of dinner options here. Affordable, as well as plentiful helpings. I was most awe struck by the decor, upon walking in, to find it to be beautifully done up in very retro, and very authentic autographed pictures, movie memorabilia, ect. Family friendly, with a sock hop feel! I could just imagine "The Fondz" rounding the corner saying....aaayyyee! The waiters, and waitresses, are very friendly. It is wheelchair accessible as well!
Casino was clean and the overall staff was great, however, you should avoid the older blonde bartender, as she thoroughly ruined our stay.
Fantastic Hotel and Staff, my husband and I had a wonderful time! We will definitely be back!
Boomtown is one of my favorite destinations for leisure.
The Best Western hotel is by far the best value in the Reno area in my opinion.
Every time we stay there we find another reason why it s our favorite.
I've been going to boomtown for some time now and I gotta say... wow!! The renovations made are great! New games, new lobby, new look! And the pool is open again!! I'll be visiting more often now!
Love this place! It's always our last stop before we head home from Reno. Buffet, Buffet, and a little Gambling doesn't hurt! Lol.
Boomtown is clean. Downtown casinos are not. If I had a choice between all the casinos, it would be Boomtown or GSR. Love em both. Friendly, clean, and fun.
Nice rooms. Gambling is ok-didn't lose but didn't win big.
Went to go eat at Mel's, delicious food and great service
Nice place to stay anytime. Room was comfortable , very clean, beds were very comfortable, bathroom was clean with lots of towels and lots of hot water. Food was good and plenty. Lots of activities to enjoy.
On our way home from Atlantis on Fathers Day my wife and I decided to stop by and check out Boomtown. What a joke! All the bad reviews are soooo true!! We USED to go to the Lobster fest-lobster is over cooked and terrible. We stayed 1 night a year ago and the rooms are filthy and the beds are not comfortable. So we thought the gambling couldn't be bad? Right? WRONG!!! Machines- no kick back. I like craps. I set the dice; which they didn't like and said hurry up and roll them! Really? My money- I roll them the way I want! So I was on a long roll. . . .and here comes the pitt boss to tell me to let the dice roll on the "carpet" a little longer before hitting the back wall! What a Jerk.I was doing it perfectly fine! BUT since I was winning; he had to come over and give me heat! Also I was helping the guy next to me; because he was new at craps (only played 1 month every wk-end there) the guys working at the table were so rude to him and I. They never helped him and actually making fun of him. So there was 3 of us at that end of the craps table and we all were pissed off and left at the same time! I went to get my wife at the "ONLY" 21 table open. I asked her if she was ready to go? She said yes after 1 more hand. Of course the pitt boss followed me over(WHY??). I placed a bet for my wife and he said that I couldn't do that. I asked why-nicely? He said (like a Jack ass) you just can't; house rules you have to give it to her to bet! WOW!! You have 1 black jack table going; 1 poker table going (with2 people playing) and only 1 craps table going. LOOK AROUND-NO BODY"S HERE!!! YOU NEED BUSINESS!!!! Now you just lost a lot more! The 2 guys playing craps along with my wife and I; ARE NOT coming back. We'll stay at Atlantis: GREAT Service!! Great food! THEE BEST comps!! The BEST craps with the BEST Dealers! FUN! We had my best friends wife's 50th surprise b-day at Atlantis (12 total ) AND everyone of them loved it there! Tried to give Boomtown a chance; but they are RUDE and don't care!! Save time and money-stay away! They'll be out of business soon!! They could care less when I said I'm a disabled VET!!! Totally wrong in my book!!!
I am a Diamond rewards member and have stayed a few times here. Just wanted to give people a heads up about pricing here. I booked my room through the Best Western phone and was quoted a price of$57 so I accepted it. I came to find out that after resort fees, taxes, etc. the price was $79. I may stay here again but will probably return to the Best Western by the airport.
It was a nice little casino. We just stopped to gamble a little. Lost my money, but I will be back again.
Casino is generally sleepy and focused far too much on slot machines. Rooms are adequate but a little dated. Service is friendly and accomodating, in my limited experience. Definitely check out the Mel's Diner on the East end of the property.
Great place plenty of parking awesome lobster tail dinner free play I enjoy going here
When I do visit, (to play) it's usually very late. I love how quiet and peaceful it can be and sometimes I prefer that. Very friendly atmosphere and kid friendly environment all hours of the day.
