Great food, great prices with quick and friendly service!
One of the friendliest staff I've seen, great place to have a coffee and have a read, chill music and access to computers
Books? Tea? Cake? Cosiness? I'm sold. Could have sat in there all day.
Nice place. Pretty good food. Not a lot of seating. Has outdoor seating in the summer.
Lovely cafe and bookshop in Aberdeen city centre. Try the homebakes!
Cool place, nice staff, but not the best food and beverage I've had in town. With phenomenal coffee shops just around the corner, Books and Beans just isn't quite as good.
The coffee was absolutely AMAZING!! I ordered a flat white and my friend ordered cappuccino, he liked it very much too! The place is cozy and loved the book s collection upstairs! Would totally recommend!
Nice Coffee, decent sandwich and soup. Excellent value.
Nice place to with company and without. Food is good and the atmosphere is very relaxed
Super friendly staff, good coffee, good atmosphere, free WiFi - the perfect place to get some work done, do some relaxing reading, or just people watch.
Always friendly service, very obliging and good food. Much prefer it to the overpriced chains
Good selection of good, drinks and great choice of books. Could have stayed for hours.
Three stories of books and alcoves to explore, while you drink a fine flat white.
Great little cafe with plenty of quiet areas to sit - only wish they were open in the evenings, even if only occasionally.
Kind staff. Delicious breakfast panini which they serve all day.
This palce is so british I love it.
Go there enjoy a book with some tea, buy the book, don't buy the book or just browse the shelfs. It's always worth while to go there.
They have a good selection of light lunches. Surprisingly popular since they ran out of the soup of the day! (Mushroom) the staff was really polite and friendly and the overall atmosphere of this place is super cozy.
Superb local food. Theres always two soup options on the go and I have yet to try one and not enjoy it.
Upstairs is a an awesome wee bookshop too.
We try doing our bit to shop local and this way we get something tasty too
Busy and bustling. Staff very friendly. Coffee is great and there are always some interesting gems on the bookshelves to be discovered!
Before I became Vegan I ate here a lot. Their sandwiches and coffee are great.
Awesome atmosphere, i love the special drink of the day they do. Although the cafe looks really outdated it fits the character and gives it a quirkiness which makes it a more homely/cozy place.
Really friendly and enthusiastic staff, coffee and hot chocolate is great. Comfy and cosy.
Ask for one thing, they don't have it, so asked for another and they have stopped do I it, so I ask for a third and they look around for a bit before saying they can do it.
Tiny little shop that doesn't look anything special from outside but GO IN!! Great coffee! I Mean Fab! Fresh and served quickly. Baking yum yum yum. And an amazing range of savoury food. Upstairs u can sit surrounded by books! An extensive range of second hand books. Great atmosphere! Reminiscent of the little bookshop in You've Got Mail. Normally staff chatter can really irritate my husband as they often don't realise customers can hear and it's not always pleasant. But not here. Staff were upbeat friendly, nothing too much bother and conversation was normal!!
We have been in Aberdeen for 2 days and have been twice. Will come back when we return.
Such a wonderful environment, you can take a book to read while you have a coffee or some soup or you can borrow one from their bookshelves. If you like the book, you just pay for It at the counter. They also host small events in their upstairs area sometimes and have music night's every Thursday!
Great soup, friendly prompt service, well worth a visit.
Coffee and books, the name says it all. Don't think it gets any better than this place, why would you want for anything more.
Beautiful little shop an amazing selection of books! Especially if you're a horror fan (it has a horror section!) Food seemed nice too. Lovely atmosphere!
Nice little place indeed, the fan in the corner is a bit loud but the salted caramel tart is very good. It's a shame about the fan corner because that's a nice wall with pictures on it. Staff seemed nice.
Friendly staff delicious sandwich and great coffee oh and books too
Good food with vegan options. Lovely coffee and nice atmosphere.
Really nice place, very cozy. The staff is also very friendly. There are though some minor things that they should improve because they can make a bad impression in an otherwise nice cafe.
For example, it is odd to charge 80p just to toast a sandwich!
Also, the pancakes are premade and they just warm them before they bring them to you. At least they could have given a little more Nutella instead of 2 single servings for 4 pancakes.
The freshly squeezed orange juice is already squeezed. I feel that there is a difference between freshly squeezed and daily squeezed.
Despite these, it is really nice to drink your coffee surrounded by books and I will definitely visit it again.
fast service, cosy, staff very accommodating. can be quite busy but worth it
Good cosy place.. very helpful staff. A bit expensive to scan and send a document.. other than that all good. The gps takes to god knows where for the postcode. Easier to park and walk.
Very cool and pleasant used books store and coffee house. Sometimes there are poetry readings...
Great little place. Support the independent retailers. Keeps your town rea,
Soup and sandwich and coffee - all very good plus friendly staff.
Quirky and friendly. Interior can be a bit cheap-feeling. Staff are overall very friendly. Drinks are great, but food can sometimes be a bit lacking
Lovely little place. Friendly staff, honest and fresh food and the dog was welcome and even got a treat.
Great little place. Very friendly and cosy, and nice for any book lover. My ONLY gripe, though only a small one, is I think it closes too early. To be fair, I realise it also opens quite early in the day too, so staff still have a full working day.
Dear god the tea was undrinkable, my panini burnt, the bacon rubbery, the extractor fan almost defening and the selection lacking- half of the smoothies section was unavaliable first thing on a saturday- good luck with the rest of the weekend. Theres also a weird unplaceable smell... Dissapointing because clearly some people liked it. Its all very shabby and not in a chic way. Think it needs some serious tlc.
The staff are a delight - attentive and friendly. The mushroom soup knocked me for six; SO good. My sandwich ingredients were fresh. I m glad I stopped by. I m going to have a cake now :-)
Breaks my heart to write this review because I love to support local businesses. Waffles were honestly horrible. They arrived cold and I could taste undissolved lumps of sugar, nightmare. Two stars because the coffee was ok.
Great for lunch and plenty of books to look through. Local history is well supported and there is fiction and children's books too :)
A nice place to do your morning email/newspaper checks or meet friends for affordable food and coffee, or just rest if you've been out and about. Can get quite busy on weekend mornings.
First floor has the friendly staff waiting to take your order and a couple of tables and toilets, second floor has more tables set between book shelves of books which are for sale if you wish to pick one.
Charming place, the food was decent, friendly staff. Was definitely a good place to grab breakfast while in the center of town.
Great atmosphere and food! Highly recommend if you are interested in books and fancy a good cup of coffee!
Fantastic food, great staff and brilliant atmosphere love this place.
I want to love it but feel uncomfortable, claustrophobic and cramped.
Cute cafe off the Main Street. Very busy but quick service for a decent priced, tasty meal! Loved the vibe with all the books to read
Went in here to get some documents printed. I Was in a hurry so didn't have coffee or a bite to eat. The place looks cosy and nice woth lots of books for sale.
Staff lovely get a lovely cuppa. Poetry nights great.
Staff were friendly nice place to go for a coffee.I do like the idea you can read their books but can be busy and noisy with the students
Really cute cafe, with several floors of used books. Nice selection with seating on all floors . I'd make it a regular visit if I lived in the area.
I can't go to Aberdeen and not go in here for at least a coffee. We had a lovely brunch in here today and I had the tastiest oat milk latte I've had yet (and I've sampled loads). Highly recommended
Just went in for a look at the books and a carry out hot beverage. Looked busy and folks seemed happy with there food bit I can't rate higher as didn't eat. Feel that the second hand books are more expensive in relation to all the local charity shops.
