We rented an apartment from blueground from 13.10....

We rented an apartment from blueground from 13.10.2023 to 16.12.2023. We had big apartment in Glyfada on the third floor with two children of 9 and 7 years old. The apartment is not bad but little bit old.
+Advantagas:
1) good internet connection, 2) good location, 3) friendly neighbors, 4) enough dishes, bed sheets and towels. There was even a welcome package (a little bit of everything: tea, bread, garbage bads, powder, capsules for the dishwasher, water, toilet paper)
-Disadvantages:
1) According to the contract, this agency can bring tenants to us to look at the apartment. It doesn’t mater in our presence or not.
2)The contract does not limit of potential tenants in the last month of our stay and this is important in our case. The visitor took place four or five times a week, sometimes there were two visits in one day. We had to change our plans to be in the apartment.
3) The managers themselves do not care what visitors do during the visit, for example, while one is on the balcony the other opens the wardrobe. Some asked to go to the toilet, not realizing that this is not a public place. I can’t even imagine what could have happened in our absence including the potential loss of money. Who visited us: Dutch, Hindus, Chinese, Englishmen, Polish or Bulgarians.
4)After our departure, three weeks later, received a notification that we need pay 350 euro for electricity (no receipt attached). A week later they sent a photo of the carpet and withheld 135 euro for dry cleaning. I will attach a photo of the carpet, although I didn’t see any stairs on it. After all the deductions, the remaining deposit was returned to us in 1,5 months.
Conclusions: we haven’t experienced such dishonest treatment to customers in any country. We want to warn other people so that they don’t make the same mistakes.
My recommendations:
1) Take photos of electricity meters and others, if possible.
2) Photos and videos of the apartments right arrive and before departure.
P.s. The visits of the visitors in the morning greatly distracted our children from online school.

A Disastrous Experience with Blueground: Stay Away...

A Disastrous Experience with Blueground: Stay Away!

My recent encounter with Blueground has left me utterly dissatisfied and compelled to share my experience, as it was riddled with issues that no tenant should have to endure.

Upon checking into my Blueground apartment, I was immediately greeted with an unclean living space. The bathroom curtain was tainted with mould, and the pillows were adorned with unsightly yellow spots. Shockingly, it fell upon me to arrange and pay for additional cleaning services to rectify the blatant lack of hygiene. This initial experience set the tone for an unfortunate stay that only went downhill from there.

The broken kitchen appliances, particularly the malfunctioning washing machine, added further misery to my time with Blueground. Despite reporting the issue promptly, I endured over a week without a working washing machine and spent another agonizing week waiting for maintenance to address the problem. To add insult to injury, no compensation or even a simple apology was offered for the inconvenience caused.

The unprofessionalism of the maintenance and support team was yet another source of frustration. Scheduling proved to be a mere suggestion, as they consistently failed to arrive on time, leaving me waiting for hours on end. A scheduled maintenance appointment with a three-hour delay is not only disrespectful but indicative of a lack of respect for their tenants' time.

Hidden fees were the next unwelcome surprise in my dealings with Blueground. The company conveniently neglected to mention additional commissions in payment transactions, such as a staggering 3% fee for card payments. Furthermore, utilities were not included, despite promises of all-inclusive pricing. Such hidden charges demonstrate a lack of transparency and integrity in their business practices.

To add insult to injury, the delay in the return of my deposit after checkout has been nothing short of infuriating. Without any explanation, the support team has proven unresponsive, leaving me without a resolution or the return of my rightfully owed deposit.

In summary, my experience with Blueground has been completely unsatisfactory. I strongly caution against considering Blueground for your, as the numerous issues I encountered highlight a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and basic business ethics. Save yourself the trouble and choose a more reliable and transparent housing option.

p.s. They violated contract conditions and still did not returned deposit. Be aware, you can just lose your miney.

Staff unable to clearly respond to my requests regarding easy access to buildings as our mother is on a wheelchair.
Beautiful apartments, beautiful photos, great descriptions, yet they all sit behind their computers and unable to respond to a potential client ready to invest more than euros 2000 a month for a minimum 6 months stay.
Frankly, do not think this company will last long unless top management take drastic decisions on how to market their product.

A burglarized apartment was just the beginning…

I could easily write a novel about how terrible our experience has been with BlueGround Paris. When I tell my friends and family what we have been through and continue to deal with, they are in shock. Here's our stay in as few words as I can explain it (fyi it’s still a lot):

1. Upon arrival, we were sent to the wrong location to pickup the keys to our apartment, causing us to have to unload from our Uber and one of us go to another location, taking an hour round-trip to get back (after 14+ hours of travel)

2. We were also told incorrect instructions on where the key fob reader for the apartment was, delaying us getting into the apartment for almost another hour.

3. Within 24 hours (the next afternoon) our apartment was BURGLARIZED! We left for 5-6 hours, locked the door (checked it twice) and returned, unlocked the door (yep, you read that right), and EVERY cabinet & closet door was open, mattress flipped, items dumped on the floor, a complete mess. All of our electronics (computers, headphones, etc) and multiple other belongings were stolen (thousands of $$$ worth). Whoever did this had a key (BG denies this of course) and/or cased us as we waited to get into the apartment while standing in the hallway with all of our luggage, all thanks to incorrect instructions provided by BlueGround (#’s 1 & 2). Our 12 year old dog was in the unit during the burglary and was visibly shaken.

4. In the aftermath of the burglary, BlueGround was supportive enough for about two days as they relocated us to another apartment (much further away from the downtown core), refunded a small portion of what we lost (less than 30% worth). We truly expected to be taken care of and looked after given what had happened on our first day of a 3 month stay. It was a nice thought...

5. Upon checking into the next apartment, we noticed they only gave us one set of keys. They had to send a courier to bring another set. Soon after, we noticed the apartment itself was not well-prepared for us. The 2nd bedroom closet door was stuck and wouldn't open all the way and there were visible dust balls on the floor. Multiple lights were burned out in different rooms and the 2nd bathroom shower wouldn't drain. We had to have a plumber come by to fix it within the first few days. The broom provided was also rusted so bad it won't stay in one piece during use.

6. There were no fans provided for the apartment, even though it is Summer and temperatures reach 90+ on a regular basis and over 100 on some days. We had to request the fans and again they had to send a courier to drop them off. Luckily they were actually fairly quick about this.

7. Part of us agreeing to relocate to the apartment they offered was that they would tell us when they had something else come available closer to downtown (4th-6th Arr.’s). This never happened. They haven’t checked to see if we want to move or offered another location once.

8. And finally, our still ongoing struggle. The living/dining room area of the apartment has 4 large windows that get direct sunlight from around 3pm-8:30pm, but Blueground didn't install shades on these windows for whatever reason (all other windows have shades). This results in the apartment heating up like a sauna every day during those hours. The kicker is we requested curtains for the windows (along with a replacement broom) between June 10 - June 13. As I write this, we STILL have not received these items after multiple follow ups and promises that they were on their way. Today's date is August 6th - meaning it's been 56 DAYS! FIFTY. SIX. DAYS.

All of this to say, we would obviously never recommend BlueGround to those visiting Paris or elsewhere for that matter. Even removing the burglary situation that is clearly suspect considering our door was locked, we would still have been absolutely underwhelmed with how things have gone. It is clear to us that the BlueGround Paris team does not care to provide a good experience for tenants once they have your money. Had we not had to pay everything in advance, we would have cancelled after Day 1 and found other accommodations. Pretty much anything else would have been better at this point.

Absolute c**p company.

Absolute c**p company. They don't even treat their potential landlords well. Amalia was inappropriate and unprofessional. Frankly, I wouldn't my 700k property to such incompetent people. Be forewarned.

Never pay booking fee and book highly priced nice ...

Never pay booking fee and book highly priced nice looking apartment on website, thinking you would get excellent service before reading the abusive rental contract. Blueground is just nicely designed website and mobile app and they will struggle between the homeowner and tenant when complex rental issues occur.
Blueground is not at all like AIRBNB!! The rental contract is extremely abusive and it put my family in very bad position. I ended up chating hours with customer service to solve the issues. Blueground forced us to change apartment at our very difficult period. Also they intended to withhold security deposit after I objected the termination dates. They suggested end dates to make most money possible (until end of owners contract). Because you are already paying high rental fee, they are gonna do the maintenance of the apartment excellant until you have very complex issue like removal of pre-stored dusty carpets. You will be asked additional 200 euro fee for removal of 5 carpets and you will end up chating about carpets while you need to prepare highly important report for your employer. After a lot of bargain and talking with lawyers, we found the mutual solution and of course with additional Blueground engineered conditions. Wait 6 weeks to return your deposit and utilities accounting otherwise don't claim utility accounting and get only deposit with ridiculous cleaning fee 120 discounted. Completely all system is waste.

*Customer experience team member @Panagiotis provided great customer support throughout this stay. Thank you for good communication and effort on the issues.

I recently left my Blueground apartment in Athens,...

I recently left my Blueground apartment in Athens, and my experience with the company was terrible. I reserved my apartment from the states, several months in advance. I came to see the apartment a month before I was set to move in, and my wife and I agreed that the communal living space was too small, especially since we were staying for over a year. It was going to be our workspace. I contacted an agent, and they said that we would lose our deposit and our booking fee if we got out of our contract (2344 Euros). They also refused to switch out the furniture (though they would have for additional fees). Because we couldn't afford to lose this much money, we begrudgingly moved in. After a couple weeks, I read the fine print on the "Customer's Rights" on the Blueground App. It says that if they tenant does not like the apartment upon the initial viewing, they are entitled to a total refund. I waited until I found another apartment in Athens and sent an email to my property agent and made the journey to Marousi to speak to someone at the office in person. They agreed to give back my deposit (1600 Euros), but refused to refund the booking fee and other fees (744 Euros). The apartment itself Property 177 in Kolonaki was dark in the living room--the two bedrooms got all the light. The showerhead shot straight out at the curtain and flooded the bathroom rather than shooting down. I realize this is not a big deal for most Greek hotels and apartments, but we figured since we were paying 800 Euros/mo that we would not have to hold the shower head. I recommend using AirBNB if you can, since you can read reviews about individual properties and people running them. I will update this review if the rest of the fees are returned.

UPDATE: After I checked out, I send a message to the head of customer service and the manager for the Athens branch of Blueground. They responded with an apology and refunded all of the service fees in addition to my deposit. I might use Blueground again, though their prices are still above market for similar apartments.

The location of the apartment is very convenient as it is just a few minutes walk from the train station.
All the requests related to the property have been promptly answered.
I really enjoyed the time there and can highly recommend it.

I first reviewed this company with 5 stars when we moved in to one of their properties in Athens in 2017. Two years later, this is my verdict.

The positives
- great looking properties in good locations but with several problems that aren t obvious during a quick viewing
- very easy when moving to a new country as everything is set up and you are literally ready to go
- flexibility of a short lease

The negatives
- premium price to market rate which is not offset by excellent service/ peace of mind
- whilst company is seemingly super responsive ie. they reply to emails immediately, if an issue is slightly more complicated than fixing the wifi, it will either take months to be resolved or in our case will never be resolved. Our family of five lived (AND PAID) for a 4-bed, 3-bath house but had only ONE working toilet for more than a year out of our two year contract. Not only were we never compensated for this, but Blueground also claimed that the problem was fixed satisfactorily. Note, this was only one of our serious issues (others include a leaking ceiling when it rained, broken automatic watering system in garden, rusty garden gate that kept on falling off and could have hurt the children, non-payment of the water bill so supply was cut off, to name a few).
- the bills quoted per month have NOTHING to do with the real cost, so at the end of the tenancy, be prepared to be hit with a huge bill, especially if you are staying for a long time. In our case, the cost ended up being double what was originally quoted, so our extra bill ran into thousands and basically ate all our deposit!
- the property needs to be handed back in the original condition. This makes sense for leases of a few weeks or months, but over a two year period, one cannot expect a property to have zero wear and tear. We were charged 1400 for replacement of a CREAM sofa, because it was dirty. I contacted the company that made the sofa myself and they assured me that the fabric could be cleaned, so after fighting Blueground on this, they settled to have it re-upholstered at a cost of 726, half of what they were originally planning to charge.

I stayed in a Blueground apartment in Dubai Marina for a month with my family. They took care of everything regarding the apartment, so me and my family had plenty of time to explore Dubai and enjoy our time! They were always willing to answer any of our inquiries and provide assistance when needed. I liked their approach.

Terrible service and customer support. Lived 1,5 years in one of their apartments, would never recommend anyone to use this company for leasing. Rude people, bad service provided when issues occur in the apt, and issues happen all the time (heating, electricity, water) - they don't check and fix apartments normally before they put them for rent.
