I have had HVAC contracts with Blue Dot since 2003...

I have had HVAC contracts with Blue Dot since 2003 and have always been satisfied with the service but I specifically requested Darren because I was so impressed with him when he serviced my furnace last fall. On Friday, while inspecting the vents, he determined that the UV unit installed several years ago was not in the optimal place and he moved the unit. He went over the inspection results with me and allowed me to make an informed decision on replacing a part . He also explained the benefits of installing a surge protector on my air conditioner and a whole house humidifier and left information for me to review. Based on the verbal and written information he provided, I will definitely be installing the humidifier in the fall. Darren is the consummate professional and an outstanding representative.

If we could give Blue Dot more than five stars we would do so. The day after we signed the agreement to have them install mini splits in our home their subject matter experts came in and did a pre planning walk down to ensure the installer knew what was going in, where it was going and solve any issues before the installation started. The following day Tom and his crew showed up to start the installation. Tom and his crew were very professional throughout the entire job. Tom communicated with us every morning to inform us what he and his crew would be accomplishing that day. After each zone was completed and operable Tom took the time to show us how the units operated and what they were capable of. We would highly recommend Blue Dot and Tom to anyone interested in getting air conditioning installed in their home.

DO NOT get involved with this company. Not worth the hassle!!!
I set up for a consultation for a new HVAC system on 11/6/2018. The salesman, Justin, was incredibly pushy and apparently lied about multiple things. I went with them mostly because they could do it on a Saturday whereas the other company I preferred didn't work Saturdays and Justin really pushed for me to agree at that moment. I set it up for 11/10/2018. The installation workers were pleasant enough, but didn't do a very good job - at least they didn't do what I was told they would do. One showed up hours later than the other 2. They didn't seal the system (at all), even from the inside which ultimately took less than 3 minutes and I had to postpone my Thanksgiving travels to have someone come back out and do that. They STILL haven't sealed it on the outside a month later despite repeated calls and emails. The thermostat is also not accurate. When the person came to seal the unit, he just altered the thermostat to read 2 degrees colder - but it is still wrong. I was told when it was installed that the smell of burning rubber/plastic from the heater would stop after 2-3 hours. 4 weeks later, it still smells like that every time the heat kicks on. The air conditioner couldn't be pressurized because of the outside air temperature - which would have been understandable had I not specifically asked about that when I agreed to the installation on 11/6 and been promised that it was not too cold and would be no problem. Now the air conditioner cannot be set correctly until late spring/early summer. They also didn't tell me I would have to take a day off of work after everything is finished to have the city come inspect their work - that would have been good to know, especially since the city/county won't give a specific time so you have to be home all day to avoid the city/county charging you $50 for the no show. Blue Dot also threatens to charge you if you don't have the inspection done within 90 days - don't listen. Don't let them charge you, you have 1 year to have it done. FYI Jeff Hagerty is the person I had originally had contact with to try to get these things fixed, but he will not respond anymore.

Vlad deserves 5 stars-professional and efficient. Blue Dot service barely deserved 1 star as they scheduled me but day 1 no tech showed up despite response to 3 phone calls was your still scheduled . Day 2 called again and got same apology and you re scheduled today 12-4:00. Vlad finally arrived at 5:45.

Malik came out and took care of our maintenance plan for us. He was very friendly,one time, and knowledgeable. He was able to explain things as he went through n gave tips for keeping my unit running efficiently. This was our third interaction with blue. And it's never been a problem. I've never had to wait to speak with anybody or put on hold for long periods of time they were patient and works around our schedule for services. They generally try to save you money while doing their job unlike other places that try to charge you for everything under the sun. I definitely recommend this company.

From beginning to end, this was a pleasure. Scott was very knowledgeable and clear in his explanations. I had done research ahead of time but still wasn't sure the type of system would work in our older home. He inspired a lot of confidence, gave us a fair estimate and scheduled the work almost immediately.
Ramon and Jose were both great to work with. They problem-solved quickly, explained all aspects of the installation and then worked all day to finish the project very quickly. I can't recommend them more highly. They were careful, neat, efficient, good humored.
Thanks Blue Dot. I have a comfortable summer to look forward to.

Malik arrived at the time he gave me earlier on the phone when he called to give an ETA. He quickly diagnosed the problem and completed the repair in short order. He was personable and gave quick tips on maintenance. Blue Dot has always come quickly when needed and taken care of my issues efficiently. Highly suggest the service contract as it is affordable, twice a year, and you get 10% discount on repairs.

Kevin Langford listened to my requirements and payed attention to my budget. He gave me reasonable options to choose from and worked with me to find a good value. He was responsive to my follow up calls, courteous and always helpful.

Michael Frank and Keon Wilson did a great job installing the unit I purchased. They showed up on time, worked continuously, took care to respect my household and were articulate in explaining the workings as I asked questions. It was clear to me that they knew what they were doing and it turned out great - a clean install. Neat and professional; excellent service from start to finish.

I am now free of heating oil thanks to Blue Dot! Chuck Carey, Roger, Mike and Tony did a great job converting my heating oil burner to natural gas as well as replacing my aging water heater. Clean and professional work all around. The job required removing my existing (gigantic) oil tank and installing and capping a new flue on a century old rowhome in Baltimore City.

There was a scheduling issue with one of the subcontractors and they were not able to connect the boiler to the flue, I called Chuck late in the evening and Roger was at my door 30 minutes later to finish the job right. Amazing service and quality workmanship. I could not be happier.

My experience was terrible and put my family in danger. Last Thursday we had a technician out to check why our AC was not working. He could not find the reason, and we had a second opinion come the following Tuesday. I had my mother-in-law let the technician, Cory, in to do the work. He recommended we get a breaker fixes since the one hooked up to the AC is not working. Our electrician came at 6pm that night and was furious. He said Cory, the Blue Dot technician, left the unit with the coil not on the disconnect and breaker. Meaning we could have had a fire since the disconnect would NOT have shut the unit off. The electrician fixed everything and now the AC works too.

My husband is handicapped and I am now learning some things that he always took care of. Tony took care of what was needed to be done and showed me how to replace the filter. Bladimir R. was truly outstanding. He was extremely polite, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the issue with my heat pump, which turned out to be a faulty blower motor. At first, he indicated he'd have to order the motor, which would take approximately 3-4 business days to receive. As it was a Friday, this meant around 5 calendar days. Bladimir then advised he would try a supply house that was nearby and if they had a motor he could go get it and install the same day. I was in luck. A motor was available, Bladimir quickly went to pick it up, returned, and installed on same day. I very much appreciate the fact that Bladimir went above and beyond to provide the exceptional service I received, especially since the next few days were very hot and it would've been pretty grueling without A/C. Thanks Bladimir!! Hope to continue having you as my Blue Dot service technician.

Absolutely the most unethical company. They insta...

Absolutely the most unethical company. They install a new heat pump and oil furnace in December of 2017. At the same time, they decide they are no longer going to service oil furnaces but don't tell us. A year later we have a problem. I call for service and they say call an oil company for help because we no longer service oil furnaces. We have an oil company come out and they say that the one year old furnace was never calibrated right and that the Nest thermostat was wired backwards. Corbin Oil sent a service technician out and corrected the calibration and wiring and we had heat quickly. Bludot's people that worked on this system had no idea what they were doing...... Or, they didn't care. The call takers were very nice though. This may have been an isolated experience, but it's very frustrating when the people that installed the system a year ago, say call someone else for help .... And here is their phone number......

Thomas was great during this past visit taking care of our warranty issue quickly and efficiently. He was also quite personable which we really appreciate. He explained everything he did and how things work and answered all of our questions as laypeople!! We continue to be glad we used Blue Dot!!

My 13 year old air handler needed a new motor. I knew the price and pretty much the process before the initial diagnostic technician left. Within a few days the part was in and we were able schedule a time for the following day. Ben was able to quickly install the replacement motor and was done in less than an hour of his arrival. I plan to use Blue Dot for all my HVAC needs!

This is a review of an installation of a Carrier AC/Heating unit in my condominium. The new unit was replacing a 10 year old Trane unit that had to be uninstalled and removed. As part of the installation there had to be a crane assisted operation to replace the condenser unit of the roof of the condo building.
The crew arrived on time and all work was completed, including a full cleanup, in 6 hours. All workers were courteous, friendly and professional. I have been a customer of Blue Dot for almost 10 years and this is what I have come to expect. I considered this change as a big investment and I am satisfied with the purchase and installation.

I will start this review by stating that I had a wonderful experience with this company several years back when I used them to replace an AC in my previous house. Unfortunately, this time around was a train wreck from the start.

I had a 2pm appointment, arrived home at 1:30 to be there incase they had arrived early. They did in fact arrive early, at 12:30 (thanks to doorbell
camera technology). I waited around until about 3pm incase they decided to come back. When I called to see where they were, the manager said that they showed up at 2 and had been trying to call but the phone kept going to voice mail. All of which were lies. When they finally got here at 4pm, they rushed through and didnt explain the features of the systems and the discounts they were offering. They seemed very pushy and eager to make a sale. Not uncommon for a sales person, but this was a bit more than normal. I asked for some details and they said they would email them to me. When this finally happened the next day, it was for different units than we talked about while they were here and the pricing obviously changed due to this fact. I finally got all the information I needed to make an informed decision. I decided to go with them since they could get me in on Monday (Memorial Day holiday). When I called to set everything up, they said they had just filled the last spot. I decided at that point to wait as I had a few other estimates scheduled. The said that they would be able to squeeze me in so I agreed and proceeded with putting my deposit down. They said the installers would arrive between 830 and 9 on Monday morning.

Monday morning rolled around and they didn't show by 930 so I called my sales rep and left a voicemail asking where they were. I tried to call a few more times and text and never got a response. Around 11, I called the service center who informed me that I was never added to the schedule and that I would have to talk to my sales guy (the one who never responded). I decided to sit around the house and wait anyway. I figured if they were fitting me in, they might come later in the afternoon or something. No one ever came. Finally, around 5pm I had decided enough was enough and sent an email to my sales guy canceling my order and requesting my deposit back.

I finally got in touch with the sales guy after work today and he apologized slightly, shifting blame to his manager and then asked if there was anything they could do to gain my business back. I indicated that 10% off would do it and they came back with 5% off but I would have to wait another 5 days (Saturday) for them to come out. After all of the mess, I declined so they offered me another 2% off but still the same day. I waited about an hour so I could talk to my wife and within that hour I got another text which was trying to push me to make a decision or at least that was my interpretation of it. At that point it was an easy call to just continue with the cancelation and get my deposit back.

From start to finish, this was a completely different experience than my first one. After that one, I recommended the company to everyone I know who needed an AC. After this one, I will never recommend them to any one ever again.

Kendall came out about 2 weeks ago and while trying to repair my A/C, realized there was a piece missing to completely repair it. The piece was ordered and he came back out the next week with what he thought was the piece to repair the A/C and found out it wasn't. He mentioned that he thought he should still be able to fix it without the missing piece and did. Now I am sitting in a nice, cool place. Thanks Kendall!

Don't waste your time with this company, and find a true service professional elsewhere. Apparently Blue Dot can't even keep the appointments they have on the books.

I had my downstairs HVAC system (gas furnace, AC unit) replaced by BlueDot. Ramon and his helper were the utmost professionals. They took time to explain what they were doing, took no short cuts, and went over and above my expectations. They cleaned up a previous sloppy installation and did it with a smile. I don't leave reviews very often, but felt like I needed to in this case. My entire experience with BlueDot was excellent. No surprises, no pressure, just fantastic customer service. Very happy customer.

We stopped using Bluedot a few years ago. Their seasonal maintenance contract was priced a little cheaper than most competitors.

One tech in the fall seasonal checkup stripped out a flared fitting on the fuel line, and the tech who came back to repair it fixed it but managed to screw up the air tube inside the furnace somehow. Reading recent reviews it looks like they stopped servicing customers with oil furnaces. I wonder why?

One spring checkup the tech claimed the "A Coil has a leak."

Here we are, years later with that "leaking A Coil" that still cools fine.

Our system is 21 years old but works fine, but their twice a year checkups, you could always count on a sales pitch to persuade you to replace your old stuff that's functioning correctly with a completely new system.

Beware....I am a mature lady, and my reliable furn...

Beware....I am a mature lady, and my reliable furnace man retired...I looked around for a reputable company and Bluedot had lots of 5 stars on their reviews.(?) I purchased an annual agreement and Bluedot proceeded to do the check up. I thought it went well til they left. Then the furnace kept shutting down, it was January. I called them to come back again, and they said they found a loose wire. They charged me another service fee regardless when I said I had a contract. They indicated that they couldn't find me in their system, and I needed to pay. I called the company with this issue and he said that it was a mistake and he would send a refund, plus he said he would refund me the difference in the agreement unused, total of $167.59. I have never received a refund for the overcharge, for an event that should have been caught when they did the original checkup..... Very disappointed in this company. ..So I called corporate office, she took my information and said she would return my call with the results within 24 hrs.....a week later, I am still waiting!...called corporate office again. I am told to wait again for the results of this claim involving my $167.50 This had been ongoing since January 2015 to date April the 7th 2015.

We had the a/c die. the first tech said that the compressor had locked up. He missed the underlying problem. After the new compressor arrived, the tech, Kevin, said that it happened because there was a refrigerant leak. We finally got it fixed and Kevin was great. Only complaint was that Blue Dot never, ever, did call me about scheduling. I had to call them to arrange the services. They repeatedly apologized for not calling, but after many times, apologies are worthless. You have to correct the problem.

They installed a new HVAC for my house. My electrical bills went up. Also, the heat went out twice. In February. It got down to 44 in the house one night. 11 service visits later, it turns out something had been mis-wired. 11 service visits. Several of them, the poor tech that was sent out had no idea someone else had already been out to look at the system. No turnover, no continuity, no notes. No escalation to a more experienced tech until I called and complained. I grew to hate having to call and listen to the person answering the phone say "how may we provide excellent service?"

Once things were fixed, the new HVAC works great. Much lower electrical bills, and it's quieter. I'd buy a Carrier system again in a heartbeat. But I'd get it installed by someone else. Anyone else. I missed so much work for service visits. The only good things I can say about Blue Dot is that they're very polite, and stand by their warranty- I've never gotten a bill for all the follow up visits. But when I paid thousands in the first place, and got a huge hassle, that's a small comfort.

Needed a tech to come out to correct an issue with a thermostat- shouldn't be a big deal, but it's pretty irritating when they require a 4 hour window, then the tech doesn't have the courtesy to call to let you know they aren't coming. Waited 6 hours, then called only to be told I'm still somewhere on the list for tonight. It's 8pm, and I've been waiting since 2. Can't even reschedule without adhering to the 4 hour window, so I have to miss work tomorrow to sit here and wait for them to maybe think about showing up. The techs who installed my hardware did great work, but their customer service is terrible.

I have been waiting for over 30 minutes for a service tech to call regarding a newly installed furnace not shutting off, from the thermostat and the unit itself. My house is extremely hot temp is at 84 and climbing. I have called two times to get customer svc reps give me the run around. If I had known service response is so poor would have gone to their competitors. All other reviews on here my advice to you is that there is no need for lying. Customer Service is poor and needs improvement and you should say so! Reviews could not be true if I am going through this. They can take back their unit and I will contact BGE Home and get true reliable service.

UPDATE: I have been a blue dot customer for many years ... both at my current home and past home in Harford County. The TECHNICIANS that come have always been wonderful and this is by no means any fault of theirs .... but the system of scheduling 4 hour windows for service is broken and Blue Dot really needs to fix it.

Today is my day off. Like everyone else who who works mad retail hours ... when your day off comes you have tons of errands to run and other stuff pressing. My window was 10-2. At 1p I get a call that the technician will be there in 20 minutes. An hour later no technician. I call back the number and get voice mail for the Quality Control person that originally called and gave me incorrect information. I left a voicemail with my disappointment. At 220p the tech arrives. He s awesome .... super friendly .... But by the time he gets done 3-330ish most of my day is gone. If someone could have alerted me HOURS ago the service requests for that day are running behind that would have been great. We all get that things happen .... but the lack of communication to the customer whose time is ALSO valuable is unfair to say the least.

Why don t you get a tracking system like many service companies have that updates every 15 minutes (Dispatch Track for example) so customers can see where the tech is, what stop number they are at and what stop number the customer is. It would AVOID all these issues.

It s just not fair to the customer. My entire day is wasted for no reason. A simple phone call or update would have avoided this.

Carlos R. came to my house today to switch out some faulty thermostats. Naturally, you come for one issue and likely another will arise ... which it did. Carlos was professional, patient and very thorough in taking his time to fix the issue. Any btw ... he's gorgeous. ;)

Even though we had a coupon for just a seasonal AC checkup, Thomas spent time explaining what he was looking at and giving us tips on some preventive things we can do to lengthen the life our our AC uinit. An easy and painless experience! Jorge did an excellent job explaining the work that needed to be done. He kept me appraised of the project's progress and did a great job going over all completed work.

The other install technicians, including Erik, Joe, and Damon, worked well with each other and seemed to be on task during their entire time and around my house. I will definitely use BlueDot of Maryland for future heating and cooling needs.

Wish I could write a better review....Received new...

Wish I could write a better review....Received new HVAC install 6/24/2020. Everything went smoothly, installers were great....AC worked with no issues....Tried heat on 9/21/2020, furnace kept shutting off...called BlueDot 9/22/2020 for service, tech came out 9/23/2020 and found an issue, said field supervisor would be in touch....no call 9/24 or 9/25, so i called on 9/25/2020, same response, "someone will be in touch"...nothing 9/28/2020, I called 9/29/2020, operator had no idea of what the issue was, apparently no notes available about the issue. Now as of 9/29/2020 awaiting installation supervisor or someone who can resolve the issue to call me....(I will modify this after I actually get a resolution).....
