Because of my experience described below, I will never frequent Bluebonnet dodge again, either for purchase of a vehicle, or service work.
I needed work done, set an appointment, and brought it in on time. When appointment made, said I needed an estimate before work was done, in case it was real costly, I would have to prioritize the jobs.
I asked when the estimate would be ready, and was told by 9 am. At that time, asked what the estimates were, and told it is still waiting to be sent to a technicians for estimate, and told by 11 am. They would be ready.
We live over 30 miles away, and had to coordinate with my wife regarding picking up instructions.
At 11 am, checked, and was told it was still sitting there, and had not been looked at. I asked, if I had an appointment first thing Monday morning, then what good is an appointment, when I have to wait a half a day for an estimate. (note, a few years ago, I drove in mid-morning, no appointment, asked to check something out and it was done within a half hour, given estimate, and left. There was NO CHARGE for this estimate).
I came back at 1230, it still was not done, but working on it. It was done in 10 more minutes, got the estimate, and had sticker shock! Over $5,000!. I had to go home, think about it, and prioritize and schedule what needed to be done first.
He said he would bring the truck around, and prepare a bill. A bill for what? For giving me an estimate. I Never heard of such thing. Do not know of anyone else that charges for an estimate of work to be done. I was charged over $150 for the estimate. That $150 made Bluebonnet Dodge just loose a 20+ year customer.
Because of that, I will never go back to Bluebonnet Dodge, and since it is related, Bluebonnet Ford. I have bought both fords and dodges there for 20 + years. But never again. Further, I will tell all I know of my experience there today.
