Modern bar on the top level of the Shangri-La Hotel with amazing views. Excellent location to bring visitors or just to enjoy some drinks after work. Good and helpful for service. Cocktails far too expensive but wine & beer is at a reasonable price

The experience was AMAZING. The service was excellent, the cocktails were great. Everything was beautiful. I will definitely be going back. Beautiful place.
We went with my girlfriend and I to have a drink last night at the shangri bar, mainly to enjoy the night view of Sydney. A little feedback is more than necessary. 1) Home more than mediocre. We managed by ourselves to find a table. 2) Once seated at our table, no support. After 20 minutes (by which we intercepted a server), we managed to dig A map. Not two, but ONE. Rebelotte for taking order, it was necessary to repeat 10x a sign of the hand for someone to come. It was also necessary to insist that the table be cleared of the glasses of previous customers. Seriously? 3) So we priced 2 cocktails and waited almost 30 minutes to be served. 4) The waiter asked me for my credit card and left with the Bar. So saying that we can not leave without paying. Is this a joke ? Or did you see that a server is leaving with the CB of a customer? It's forbidden and it's for me never seen! 4) The cocktails were served on a SALE table. I insist on the word, the table was disgusting. Not cleaned at all after the previous client. 5) The cocktails were a rather surprising banality. Note that the glasses were sticky. 6) No appetizers / chips or other cookies served with cocktails. Is it too much to ask? Obviously, yes. But I still want to clarify that when a server came to get rid of the glasses, so he put our empty glasses (dirty) on the same shelf as clean and ready to be served to the customer. Nothing shocking ?! 7) Small special mention for the waiter putting his order book in his chest. Hallucinating to see this in an establishment of this type ..... 8) Bar very noisy.
In short, I want to say that, being myself and my girlfriend in the field of luxury hotels, and having traveled and experienced many different hotels in this range, I found the experience of yesterday SCANDALEUSE. Absolutely NOTHING is worthy of a Shangri La, it is shameful. I never thought I was so disappointed, it is not a customer of lost but several, because I would not hesitate to give my opinion to those around me.
The staff were rude and the manager was arrogant. Facilities were filthy. Not expected when spending that sort of money and not expected for a hotel of this size
I called them to book a table for a few drinks for my dad s birthday. The lady on the phone said the tables for bridge view were booked but we could just walk-in as it wouldn t really be busy around that time. On reaching there, the bar had a function happening and was closed. If only the employees had some knowledge on what was happening at their workplace, Dad wouldn t have had to suffer with the travel and hassle getting there. Completely Disgraceful!
My mom and I came here for cocktail early afternoon. I asked the man waiter which cocktails are popular ? He told us . So we ordered , but the two cocktails both taste really no good, and with plastic cups and straws. I asked him why they are plastic cups instead of glasses? He told us the menu changed( I am sure the menu is the same with last time I came)
My bf and I went on Wed and just realised that the window side can be seated when you spend $100. I felt but too commercial but also thought it is fair, I as Sydneysider love going there but all tourists or short visitors are taking a spot with glass of juice and spend hours and hours long.
I also love to say that the cocktail was amazing, Tommy's was the one of best I tried. :D The reason I didn't put 5 stars, because the toilet was not very cleaned and they remove menus and beer selections.
Good place for a fancy date with a loved one - One of my favourites! The Place has in my opnion the second best view of the city - facing North sydney and the quieter suburbs , which is not as flash but really serene. IT has one of the most expensive cocktails (amongst the other normal ones) ive ever seen as well, worth going up here just to read the Cocktail menu haha
My first visit to Blu Bar On 36 was incredible. The views was spectacular it's like a viewing platform just for Adults! There was one incident where I left my table to take photographs of the view and then some other patrons stole my seat even though I still had drinks on the table. Anyway Punchama who had been serving me realized what happened and moved me to one of the front tables with amazing views of the bridge and the Opera House. Punchamas customer service was excellent and she acted quickly and came up with a solution on the spot with this gesture I ended up buying $70 worth of drinks on my own. Punchama is definitely a future leader in the Hospitality Industry. She was warm and made me feel welcomed right through to when I left. She's an asset to any workplace. I'll definitely be back with friends
The rooftop bar on the 36th floor in Shangri-La Tower is awesome. Fine drinks. The service staff is very friendly. Can we only recommend. The view is sensational. The tap water you get for a drink is free.
Blu Horizon Bar is a fabulous bar - they have really delicious cocktails - the strawberry cloud was really awesome! It was on their old cocktail menu so you might have to ask them to make it. The views from here are great too - perfect for after work drinks on a Friday or with friends on Saturday night. Perfect bar to take visitors to from out of town.
If I had to describe this place in one word I would describe it as CLASSY! Whenever I want to go out or catch up with friends I always recommend Blue Bar level 36 inside the Shangri-La Hotel. If you are a cocktail lover and you want some beautiful decadent cocktails and don't mind paying top dollar for it (prices range from 12 - 25.00 per cocktail) and sip and enjoy the view in the lounge bar ( which provides you with bowls of nuts and crackers to wash down your cocktails with - I think this place should be put on everyone's cocktail bar of first choice. It's better to arrive around 9 p.m. and put your name down on the list to be seated in the lounge because of the view you can see the Harbour Bridge from one aspect and Circular Quay from another aspect) therefore if you want to sip and sit down in the lounge - get in first! Otherwise there are seats directly in front of the cocktail bar... but on Friday and Saturday night's the place is always busy with Hotel guests and out of towners wanting a nice place to sip cocktails and talk in a soft muted environment. This is my first choice cocktail bar for all of the reasons above and the excellent service friendly staff and impeccable surroundings. Of course I vote this 6 out of 5
I love this place. Best place to show off our beautiful city to visitors. Even when the weather isn't clear it still puts on a show. It is a little bit pricey but I'm happy to pay a premium for that beautiful view.
As shangri la guests, me and my friend went upstairs to check out the bar. An old asian waitress said she could not let us in because of dresscode. She said its smart casual but nobody inside looked either smart or casual they all looked old and outdated including that waitress lady:) i just dont understand why this kind of mundane and mediocre bar has anything called dress code . O bar and dining
Had issue on reservation. The manager Gian offered quick and very kind solution to me and my friend. So we can enjoy the best harbour view in Blu bar. It is the best part of our trip to Sydney. Will bring more friends next time to this must-visit venue
Very nice view especially in the night. You need to reserve windows seat if you want to see outside. Cocktail and beer are good quality, food is also reasonable.
High tea review (such a shame as the person in the foyer area downstairs only met us briefly but she was 10/10, so I stress this is just for the high tea). I've been to a fair few high tea events and this is the only exceptionally disappointing one. I stay at this hotel every so often & am so glad, I always took the 5 or so minutes walk to the QVB high tea rooms. Having said this, the view is really lovely, it's the reason we stay here. The food and restaurant service, is definitely not. Service was terrible: $100 for a few tiny pieces of food that seemed to be old, certainly not fresh. I couldn't even cut through or chew a couple of the items. I'm talking... Really bad. Staff were very rude & inattentive. For $100 you'd think you'd get offered tea/coffee/drink on arrival. Left completely unfulfilled. The staff are very snobby. Would recommend AVOIDING.
When we made the bookings, they didn t make it clear on the website that this package ($85/p) doesn t include drink, which is a bit dodgy and misleading.
Won t recommend this package, the food is very very general, you can get much better dishes somewhere else with a reasonable price. And the cocktails are just alright.
Fantastic cocktails great you Great selections wines Great bar food it also can be romantic if you get a table opposite the bar overlooking the Harbour Bridge
Wow has this place raced downhill!!! Bogan central with Eurotrash waiters who couldn't give a rat's. Bad service & Super expensive . Yes a glorious view but think hard before you come here & are disappointed. Not a good choice. And not a 5 star hotel experience. Go to the Park Hyatt lobby bar instead.
