A bit pricey for a simple beer, but superb views by night in both sections of the bar. I bring friends from out of town here. The neon lights of Sydney and the views of the harbour are ideal. Understandably popular, but I dislike the main narrow public section (near the bar) when the place is crowded.

Online pics show a view of the opera house from this bar. We arrived to a busy crowded space with restricted access to the views of the opera house. Couldn't get a seat or a drink. Felt very mislead. Went down the road to Burrow instead which was outstanding in every way. Bar 36 you need to change your promotional photos to the westerly view you actually offer.

Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. Specialty cocktails are great and they know how to make anything not on the menu. Absolutely amazing views too. Definitely worth a visit but be willing to pay a premium for the drinks. Is 100% worth it though. One of the best bars in Sydney

36 degrees outside. So we thought we would have a drink at the blu bar. Air conditioning was on,supposedly, but the lounge was so hot we couldn't stay. It was cooler outside. Disgraceful for a hotel that should be maintaining much higher standards of comfort for guests.

My favourite spot for a drink with a view in Sydney. Off menu cocktails are just as good as the ones on menu. The view is second to none. The only danger could be setting up a tab and not keeping track of your spending!!This place is a must when you're in the city :)

Grab a window seat and watch the twinkly lights of the city below as the cars travel over the Harbour bridge. One of the most iconic views of the most amazing Harbour in the world. Glitzy, sophisticated and other worldly.

Went there for the high tea that starts at 11.30 and finishes at 2.30. Needs a huge upgrade furniture is old, is clean though. Sweet treats and savory creations were delicious. The bar worked very slow even though there weren't that many people. Cocktails are filled with heaps of ice. (after seeing one of the bartender picking his teeth with his fingers and then make a cocktail made me feel sick). The views are amazing!

Amazing experience, beautiful view and beautiful staff. Clearly the bar manager Roman is a gentleman among gentlemen. The customer service was almost as grand as the view. I really liked the security man at the door Andy or Andrew he made this experience an absolute pleasure. Well done and cannot wait to be back on level 36 hoping to see the views and the customer service from the bartenders with beautiful accents and wait staff who are very attentive.
Thank you for your hard work.

service was very slow and drinks very expensive. Whilst the view is good from some aspects we didn t expect to wait such a long the for the drinks and pay a premium price. We have been there twice now and will not return again ... sorry managers need to put more staff on to accommodate it being busy especially given the prices you pay for drinks. If your going to charge supply the service no matter what the view as the barrangaroo work site doesn t cut it

The views were just great, but the service is very bad, slow and weird. They brought us first the food and later on the drinks. They forgot about cuttlery and took away one of the cocktails which still had almost half of the drink. The view and the setup are great but your experience might be dissapointing because of the staff service.

Cocktails are good.

Cocktails are good.
Finger food is alright - pretty average and not many options to choose from, although they do have truffled aioli and we all know truffles make everything better.

The ambiance is what makes this place great.
Sitting on a comfortable chair or couch, watching the sunset over the bridge and the Opera House, trying different signature cocktails, sipping on wine (and maybe having some greasy chips with aioli, you know, just to stay humble) and chatting with loved ones is priceless. I always pay attention to the kind of music that is playing on the background and I usually love Blu Bar's selection.

Wow what a view! I think it would be the best in the Sydney city area, cocktails were beautiful, the service was also great! I would definitely go back, it would be stunning at night time!

My daughter and I went to Blue bar last friday 22/09/17 and had this most amazing experience! Cocktails, views and the bar staff are fantastic! We were celebrating her Y12 graduation, and without asking, the staff tried their best to place us in the best spot for views and even organised a little surprise dessert for my daughter (all that without us asking for it, we just told them we were celebrating). Thank you so much for making our experience a memorable one!!

Great cocktails and service. The lounge bar with the so called amazing view over the Opera House and Harbour is cozy and nice but the main bar on the other side is in need of a bigger touch up when it comes to the the interior.

Ahhh on top of the Shangrilla hotel! You get the same room view except better! Staff are very kind..so nice to dress up and go to a place like that where you would enjoy the two magnificent structures, sydney Opera house and Harbour bridge at once! Loved it

Firstly, nothing wrong with the place and I had a pleasant experience here. However, the food was average and it didn't wow me. It wasn't as grand as I had expected it to be, especially being in a renowned hotel. Nonetheless, the view was great, overlooking the Harbour Bridge and Opera House as expected but unfortunately, it is one of those places you are paying for the view, rather than the quality of the food.

It's beautiful, the view is beautiful. I'm here by myself tonight because sometimes it's nice to unwind. It's pretty packed and with table service the waiters still stop to ask if everything is ok, have a chat. I love this place

Visited Blu Bar today for the buffet high tea.
Food variety and quality was very good. Unlimited cocktails was not that unlimited as the service was very slow and drinks mostly filled with ice so basically watered down. The worst part was the service we received. 35 minutes before the end of our 2 hour high tea sitting we were asked how we wanted to pay for our bill, hadn't even received our final drink and coffee yet. Asked the waiter to come back at the end of our sitting. Still came before we finished our drinks with the bill and credit card machine and for some reason only approached our table and no one else. Clearly someone was eager to get our table of the amazing Sydney Harbour view! Was then shocked by the $20 Sunday surcharge which was not mentioned on the website at the time of booking or even on the confirmation email. Complained to literally 4 different people and still did not get an outcome just lame excuses about their trained staff and hotel policies!
As a Sydney local who has been to plenty of different places for high tea, DO NOT come here for drinks or high tea! Overpriced and terrible staff or a supposed 5 star hotel!

Oh! What a view of Sydney harbour from level 36 @Blu bar. Best place to be on Friday night. Relax and rewind. They make excellent cocktails. The menu covers a good variety of finger food and a meal too if you are hungry. The service is great. However, they do not take bookings, you may have turn up early to get the table with best view.

Not as good as it should be. One of the cocktails was watery. They took long to attend us. The menu is short and boring. A real disappointment. The views are good, of course, but only if in front row seat.

Awesome view at the bar. I was disappointed by my martini made using Bombay Sapphire gin. They have a range of great gins at the bar, but didn't ask for a preference. Based on the bartender's confidence and zero hesitation, I assumed he had a particular martini-appropriate gin in mind. The martini on its own was disappointing, but then the bill came which was $49 for the martini and one other cocktail (an Old Fashioned)! Lesson learned: always specify which gin you want. Will probably be back next time I'm in Sydney with a more prescriptive order
