The service and customer experience was beyond all expectations. Nitesh, Punchama and Justin went above and beyond to provide excellent service. Their service, knowledge and friendly attitude was better than any bar I have visited. I can not recommend this bar enough during the early week nights.

Paid over $800 for High tea for my wedding celebration with family.. really disappointed with numerous things and now wish that I didn't choose this for such an important celebration - massive let down!
1. The cocktails were pretty much large glasses of juice with no taste of alcohol present.
2. Savory options weren't amazing - this part of the menu needs reviewing by the chef!
3. Desserts were ok.. but I've had better. Considering the price you pay for the high tea the options were pretty limited also.. I wouldn't say 'wow' to any of the desserts actually.
4. Considering there is a time limit to your seating it was really disappointing that the high tea was not replenished regularly. We waited 30minutes before the savoury and some desserts were replenished which is just not good enough.
I wouldn't recommend this place for high tea - there are much better options around!

Over priced. over priced. over priced.

Only a few decent seats to admire the view.
It was a stiff environment, felt like a library
I wouldnt recommend

High tea at the blue horizon bar, is not all its cracked up to be, at $75 a ticket no hot water in the tea caddy, it was sone cold, and had to wait until over an hour in to the service before getting a cup of tea, ordered a cappacino from the wait staff and got a black coffee,. Not enough choice of savoury dishes, and what their was was not good, and all the hot food was cold, and the sandwiches were stale, the cakes werent that good, and didnt taste that good

Always come here
Amazing views
Knocked a star off because they served French fries to the adjacent sofa (we were not in the bar area)
The place smelt just like McDonald s
Disappointed

A great view and some interestingly different cocktails. Service on the slow side, but it was busy. We ordered some olives to go with our cocktail. They were the smallest I have ever seen so were a faff to eat(as they had stones) and some were definitely not ripe. Very poor for what is, as to be expected, a moderately pricy establishment.

Great bar with fantastic views. Request a table by the window. The cocktails were nice but some of the food was a bit lacking. Ordered the burrata cheese (which I love) but it was just a blob of burrata and tasteless crackers. Pork belly croquettes were adequate with creme fraiche dip. However, the market fish served with hand cut potato chips was cooked perfectly.

Great bar with incredible views. Reminds me a bit of Hong Kong where so many bars are up high. Good wine list and drinks. Great vibe. Well worth a visit for locals even though it's part of a hotel.

Superb views across Sydney harbour. Went at night so Opera House and Bridge lit. Also a firework across the river at Lunar Park. If table with views unavailable on arrival names can be put on a waiting list. Definitely worth it.

We went for Christmas night dinner at Altitude, the Shangrila hotel, The Rocks,Sydney. Great view and food was good when you got it. REALLY BAD SERVICE. REALLY INFURIATING.They couldn't cope with the number of people they allowed to book.

I just want to say a BIG thank you to Giovanni (Manager) on Saturday 21/09/2019 (High Tea) for exceptional customer service. There was an issue during the day, however he did EVERYTHING he could to be accommodating. He saved the day!

Terrible service and very poor organisation for seating near the windows. Had to ask three times for someone to serve our drinks and there were window seats free for over an hour that they wouldn t let anyone sit in. Great views but needs new management.

I love this place, although expensive worth every penny. The cocktails are amazing as are the view. The food isnt amazing but that is forgivable and the view and cocktails make up for it!

Several weeks ago we went for a cocktail at about 9pm and were surprised to find children in their pijamas playing loud music on their phones and dancing around the bar. I believe that it was not only inappropriate but also illegal, especially with the current covid restrictions requiring people to remain seated in bars. The staff did not tell them or their parents to turn the music off despite several requests. No one is that important, I don't care if they are royalty. It's the last time I'll be patron at this venue

Stopped in yesterday evening for a quick nightcap after a drive up from Canberra. The views are just incredible!!!

The bar is located at the top of the Shanghai-la hotel. On the 36th floor. The standout feature of the bar itself if the incredible view back over Sydney Harbor, which is simply stunning. There is a basic bar food offering which I took advantage off; food was nice but not a standout for me.

Service was lovely however. Staff were very attentive and helpful the whole night.

Only sad part for me was not sparkling rose by the glass...

Definitely worth checking out if your staying at the hotel!!!

Relatively expensive, but a great bar with amazing views over the harbour. We love to bring visitors to Sydney here. Its a great place from which to see the city. Try to get a seat near the window, and be there as the sun goes down.

Was extremely crowded during vivid festival. Almost twenty minute wait to grab drinks. But they were well made and reasonably priced for the location. Im sure at a quieter time this place would be a standout.

Waited at the bar for 15 minutes with about 10 other people before a stressed Barman finally acknowledged us and said it would be 20 minutes before we would be served. Our group arrived at 5:30pm on a Thursday and it wasn t that full so not sure why there was no service. We left disappointed without a drink. We went there for the views and cocktails but the reality was it was dated and disorganized and they are living off a good reputation they had 10 years ago. They really need to get things together. Would not go back there. Had great service and drinks in Harts pub down the bottom of the hotel.

Such a beautiful spot. We were only there for a drink or two, but we had unbelievable views of the Harbor and the Bridge. The drink selection was top notch. And all of that was surpassed by the customer services from the staff. They were friendly; a perfect combination of being casual and talkative, without being over-the-top or annoying. It was an awesome experience.

There were only 2 couches available with a good view. Both sitting empty for over 1 hour despite the reserved sign. We asked if we could sit and were simply told to go elsewhere as they were reserved . We asked what time the reservation was/ why nobody was there/ can we sit until they arrive. They ignored us and kept telling us to move along. Very rude staff and long wait times for overpriced sub standard drinks. Do not waste your time/ money.

Average on Friday night, many people with waiting list, offer a place first with no view, then another waiting list for the seats with view. Small venue. Would not go back there again at night or on Fri or Sat night

The Best views and the worst service in Syndey. Don't Expect to turn up and sit anywhere like in a normal bar. The Prices and the views are soaring but if you have the temerity to sit anywhere near a window without booking a seat (not something you will be told about when you arrive of course), expect an officious staff member to move you out (after you've lost your original seat of course). I've Just watched it happen to 6 other couples the last 10 minutes. Their Attitude stinks.

An all time favourite. Never fails, day or night.

An all time favourite. Never fails, day or night.

Not only are the views spectacular, alas the cocktails are even better. Great for foreign visitors, guests, dates, catch up with friends, client meetings or drinks after work.

More suited to intimate conversations at the bar, not a place of socialisation, but rather quiet conversations with a view.

Must go earlier to find a seat if you are visiting on a Friday or Saturday evening.

Would love to be able to give a review on the quality of the drinks sadly wasn't allowed in. I took a group of international friends to Blu Bar and we were refused entry because one member of our group was wearing Birkenstocks. These were considered thongs/flip flops and against dress code. Perhaps, if this a rule you are unwilling to be flexible on, you should state this somewhere. Not on the website (only reference is to smart casual), not in the lobby, not in the elevator, not as we queued to get in....no mention?! Yet someone ahead of us arrived in sweaty, smelly sports gear and was allowed in? What sort of standard is that?
