Excellent service and if you go for the sales, good prices. Bought a top of the line Samsonite suitcase, latest model, half off! And you can get a Bloomies shopping bag to look Hi-so

I hadn't been to Bloomingdale's for years. It's still an amazing place to shop. I've needs to reserve plenty of time to visit all the sections. The sales staff are helpful and always available. You don't have to go hunting for someone.

One of the iconic malls of the city which cannot be missed if you're visiting the town. Not as fancy as Sack's Fifth and not as historical as Macy's, Bloomingdale's still competes with the major malls by quality and the variety of the brands you find here. Particularly easy to navigate is the men's department located at the ground floor! Ps I took out one star because they literally attack you spraying a thousand different eau de toilettes on you when you get in from the third av entrance!

Bloomingdale was renovated recently. This department store caters to everyone's need. Stylish clothes for the young & old. Dresses & suits for the work place or places to lounge & have fun. A bit pricey, but worth going to. .... JM.

One of the better department stores in NY, compared to Saks and Barney's. Sales are frequent and often actually found things at a better price in store when there are promos as opposed to online. The layout of the store is best, new renovation looks great so easy to navigate and it doesn't have those annoying lights Saks decided to install which give you a headache. Customer service has been improving lately, so happy about that maybe they realized how hit or miss it used to be. But still room for improvement.

I like Bloomingdales better than Macy's ... Well a matter of taste ... But if I justify it, I'd say that Bloomingdales has a bit more style (and Classy) than Macy's for me. Maybe it's because there's Macy's everywhere. Well a matter of taste ... As Galeria Kaufhof and Karstadt so ... the more often there is something the more exclusivity is lost?

Used to be customer-friendly but...
times have changed.
This has become a destination for foreign shoppers.
Locals know better than to pay prices for items that are so much less expensive everywhere else.
And, if you try to call customer service--expect to spend forever waiting, listening to voicemails and hanging on hold.

It's not a cheap place, but the stuff herr is high quality. Bathrooms are pretty clean, good variety of products, there are really good deals whenever they discount furniture floor samples.

Monstrously huge department store; probably something for most people somewhere in here, you just have to find. OK cafe on top floor, not so much as a smile from the staff when ordering though.

Bloomies is the quintessential NYC department store, more then even Macy's.

My one complaint is with this year's windows for the holidays .... someone obviously was trying too hard and forgot that they are CHRISTMAS windows, not an ad for the Jetsons Meet NASA

Still, the store itself is grand!

I was interested in a Louis Vuitton bag, visited Louis Vuitton store inside Bloomingdales on Lexington Avenue twice today. First time around 1 pm, and second time around 7:15 pm, both times, I was there over fifteen minutes with no one offering to help me first visit and a lady offering to help on the second visit but she never returned. Very disappointing to say the least.

Terrible customer service. I continue to meet salespeople who are not motivated or knowledgeable, even rude. No I'm usually better on my own with my phone. Additionally, the store is difficult to navigate. I have for proximity or with visiting friends but I would certainly travel farther or even pay higher prices to avoid the bad experience of Bloomingdale's.

I bought a rug here with the promise that I could ...

I bought a rug here with the promise that I could return it easily and people would pick it up from our apartment if we needed to send it back.

When we called to return it, we were told that they couldn't send anyone in time to get the rug back before the return period ran out. Also, when I asked Susan, the salesperson who helped us, if she needed the receipt in order for us to return the rug, she said she absolutely did. Luckily, I realized I had a copy because Bloomingdales emailed one.
Still, I was surprised that the salesperson couldn't access a receipt to be helpful. This is Bloomingdales after all.

I contacted a member of Bloomingdales phone help team from a number on the receipt and he finally said that, "hey, this is Bloomingdales", even if we can't get the rug from you today, we have a record that you were returning it, so the exact date of return doesn't matter that much. Finally.

A guy came to get it and took it back the next day, in plenty of time for the return to get in under the wire.

Then the long process of getting the rug appraised to make sure it wasn't damaged in any way. This took weeks, despite the fact that we'd only unrolled the rug once to see if it fit and then put it back in the plastic sheeting to make sure it didn't get damaged. I can understand that they need to reappraise valuable merchandise on return, but even a cursory glance should have sufficed.

So I waited, and I called and I waited, and I tried to call the customer service rep I'd talked to on the phone, and altogether it took another couple of weeks before I was told I could come back in and get the refund in gift cards and on my credit card (which is how we paid in the first place). I feel like in this digital age it shouldn't require me to come back in, but whatever.

When I did go back in the other day, Susan helped me out, identifying how much money to put I the gift cards and my credit card, RIGHT FROM THE RECEIPT SHE COULDN'T POSSIBLY FIND WHEN I WANTED TO RETURN THE RUGS.

If I hadn't decided that we shouldn't spend so much on rugs, this story would have been totally different. The selection of rugs was nice. The price was high, but the discount was great. Only when I wanted good customer service did things get shaky. I won't buy any big ticket items from Bloomingdales again.

I went past all these little boutiques from Big names with several sales people and very few customers. After much searching and asking questions I found the elevators which I took to the ladies room.
I thought about my shopping experience which never happens and decided to leave. Almost everything in the store can be bought online cheaper without having to enter individual boutiques with three or four salespeople surrounding you in each.

Immense shopping center that at this point has become an icon of the city. Great variety of stores and brands but all of them of high standing, so if you go with the idea of buying, prepare the portfolio.
For moviegoers, they used stage in the movie Serendipity in the gloves scene.

People look at bloomingdales as the capital of pricey items an good quality. I look at it as another over priced mall with brands I have less concern about as the designer for me.
